I Blew Six Million Being Her Simp

Maybe this was the ultimate form of being hopelessly in love—knowing exactly how badly it hurt and still refusing to let go."Aaron, either sit down and behave or go stand somewhere else. Quit getting on everyone's nerves. If your dad hadn't started all this shit, would I even be out here drinking and trying to blow off steam?" Nadine snapped.I froze on the spot, saying nothing. I just watched that guy lean in closer and closer to Nadine. When I couldn't take it anymore, I stepped forward, grabbed him by the collar, and yanked him away. She was dressed provocatively, with barely enough fabric covering the important bits. I shrugged off my jacket and wrapped it around her.She shot me a glare, but when she saw how red my eyes were, she didn't say anything. The guy gave me a mocking look, lit a cigarette, and laughed. "Well, well, well. And here I thought our big influencer was so addicted to playing simp that he'd just stand there and watch."I leveled a hard stare at him in warn

I lowered my eyes and kept my mouth shut, doing my best not to look so pathetic. Bitterness spread through my chest, and I clenched my fists so hard that my nails dug into my palms. When Nadine finally ran out of steam from all the screaming, the streamer I'd been battling couldn't stand it anymore and spoke up."Aaron, why are you simping for a woman like this? She's got nothing going for her, yet she acts like she's some princess. I'm honestly speechless. All she does is squeeze money out of you and gaslight you all day."Can you wake the hell up already? Don't make me lose respect for you. You're only 21, and you've already achieved more than almost everyone your age. You treat her like gold, but have you ever stopped to think about what you are to her? You're an ATM. That's it!"Ever since Puffball died, I'd been pretending I was okay and acting like everything was fine, but I couldn't keep the mask on anymore.I turned away, trying to hide how broken I felt. I looked at Nadin

I met Nadine when I was 18, all wild hormones and teenage fireworks. I genuinely believed that true love could conquer anything, so I threw myself headfirst into loving her.We were together for three whole years. Now, I was 21, and I finally decided to cut ties for good. She used to chase after me so fiercely, swearing she'd be good to me forever, and that she'd always stay by my side. But now, the love and devotion I'd placed my faith in had curdled into nothing but impatience and disgust.I slowly started packing up everything that was mine. As for all the sweet memories and tokens of our time together, I tossed what needed tossing and burned what needed burning. In our apartment, one whole wall was covered in photos—three years' worth of us, every moment and smile frozen in time. Back then, whenever we looked at each other, our eyes lit up.My chest ached so badly that it felt like my heart was being squeezed in a fist. In my head, I could hear my 18-year-old self whispering t

A young woman's melodious voice rang out beside me. "Are you okay? Here, have some tissues."I lifted my head awkwardly and took the tissues, then ran home without saying a single word, rude as it was.I tried my best not to think about Nadine. I tried to pretend that I'd already forgotten about her, but she suddenly started reaching out to me again. She called me over and over, and my social media accounts were still flooded with comments and DMs about her.I couldn't put into words how I felt, but I chose to ignore it all. This time, I was determined to get rid of that version of myself that was a doormat. I didn't want to throw myself back into that bottomless pit again.Days went by in a blur. I basically lived at the library. That was where I made a new friend, Tiffany Swanson. She was the owner's daughter, and she helped out at the front desk while she studied. Once we got to know each other a bit, she even started saving me a seat. But on this day, the usually quiet librar

"I'm warning you—get your ass back here right now. I'm running out of patience. And why aren't you saying anything? Can't you hear me talking to you?"Nadine's tone was still as condescending and holier-than-thou as always. For a moment, I felt strangely dazed. I could almost picture her the second I closed my eyes, with her brows knitted and her face twisted with disgust and contempt.I could no longer connect this version of her to the bright, cheerful woman I once fell in love with.I said, "Nadine, we're done. I told you outside the club last time that I was breaking up with you. You didn't say anything, but that was an answer in itself. Whatever we had is over. Period. There's no going back."The words left a bitter taste in my mouth, and there was this heavy sadness I couldn't describe.Nadine was my first love. Even now, I hadn't completely shaken off the simp within me or fully let her go. But at least I was trying."Who the hell said you get to break up with me, Aaron? W
