July’s POV:

The city lights illuminated just a corner of the room, while the other sides remained pitch black. Douglas had drawn the curtains earlier, leaving just a little space for the lights to slip in through.

I sluggishly made my way back to bed, half awake, as I had just finished using the bathroom. I crawled back into bed and sighed deeply as thick, warm arms wrapped around me. I was getting too used to this, but I mean —who wouldn’t?

“Are you awake?”

“Mmmmm! What’s wrong?”

“No

  • I CHOSE A BILLIONAIRE BABY DADDY   CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX: WHO WAS THERE THAT DAY?

July’s POV: One minute I was in a valley filled with beautiful lilies; the next minute, the entire valley was covered in blood. I opened my eyes immediately because I know this shit isn’t real. My racing heart settled immediately I saw Douglas at his desk typing away on his laptop. I think he sensed my eyes on him because he stopped typing and turned around. I shut my eyes immediately to pretend I was still sleeping, but it was useless because our eyes had already locked. “Good morning, sleepyhead. Don’t even try pretending; I know you’re awake.” He said, tickling me all over. I couldn’t pretend anymore, so I just began laughing, pleading for him to stop, which he did after much pleading. “You were so mad yesterday; you decided to fall asleep in the bathtub instead of coming out of the bathroom.” “It wasn’t intentional; I just wanted to cool off in the bathtub, I didn’t know I’d fall asleep.” “It’s okay. I don’t know if you’d like to join me somewhere later today.” “Wh

  • I CHOSE A BILLIONAIRE BABY DADDY   CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE: MASTER OF ORGASM AT MY DISPOSAL

July’s POV: The air conditioner was on full blast, but I didn’t even notice because I was drenched in sweat. Douglas seemed to be possessed with the god of sex, because tell me why he just came, and his dick was already getting hard again. I know he had asked me three times if I still had the stamina for one more, and I’ve foolishly said yes every time. But why would I not? When each orgasm was more mind-blowing than the other. It felt as if the master of orgasm was at my disposal. “I want to pee; I can’t hold it in anymore.” I told him as soon as his tongue touched my nipple. “Don’t worry; you can pee on my face, I don’t mind.” “Stop messing around.” I said and dashed to the bathroom chuckling, ignoring the burning sensation in my pussy. He strolled into the bathroom and just casually leaned on the door, watching me as I emptied my bladder into the toilet. “Am I making you uncomfortable?” “If I’m being honest, a little bit. You know I’m not used to this.” “You shoul

  • I CHOSE A BILLIONAIRE BABY DADDY   CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR: HOW MUCH TO EARN YOUR TRUST?

July’s POV: It’s been three weeks since the last incident. Three weeks since I accepted a shabby evidence from Douglas, proving that the person that shot at me wasn’t Lucas. I still can’t wrap my head around why he’s protecting Lucas badly. I saw the loopholes, the cut in the video, everything was visible, but like the fool that I am, I chose to believe the lies—after all, that was the only way of making Avery and Lily stay here. I stared at the limited edition diamond necklace that was sitting pretty in front of me and just sighed. Ever since that day, I’ve been getting series of gifts nonstop. I’ve been gifted both the things I needed, and the things that I don’t even know what to do with it. I’ve been prohibited from ever going out of the mansion, and although Avery and Lily were still here; they were also prohibited from coming to visit me. Right now, I’m as worthless as this diamonds in front of me. “You’ve been avoiding me for weeks now.” Came Douglas’s voice from behi

  • I CHOSE A BILLIONAIRE BABY DADDY   CHAPTER TWENTY-THREE: HUSBAND NUMBER FOUR?

July’s POV: Loud mumbling sounds could be heard everywhere around me, but I couldn’t pick any coherent word from it to form a clear sentence. My mind immediately drew me back to the the event at Douglas’s villa, the night that changed everything I felt about Douglas, the night that made me realize that I’m actually in danger because everyone here wants me dead. I watched as Lucas pulled out the gun from behind him and shot at me countlessly. Each shot tore my heart into pieces. In reality, the bullets never got to me, but in my mind, each bullet pierced through my heart. While I laid in on the floor, a man covered fully in a cloak stood alongside Lucas, laughing at me as my blood pooled all around me. I know this isn’t what actually happened, but the reality even hurts more than this. Eight bullets, eight whole bullets. That’s how many times he shot at me; it would take a while for me to let go of this trauma. Suddenly, everything started going back in place; I got up from t

  • I CHOSE A BILLIONAIRE BABY DADDY   CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO: I’M DIVORCING DOUGLAS

July’s POV: ‘Don’t make a sound, and act natural.’ The text on the screen read. I managed to turn my head around with my heart racing in my chest to see that the person behind me was Lily. She had leather gloves on, and signaled for me to move away from the door. “July, are you still there?” My heart was still beating loudly, but under Lily’s command, I managed to control my voice and reply. “Yes, I’m still here.” Even I surprised myself as to how I managed to keep my voice steady. “Are you done inside? Hurry up; Douglas is still waiting. If those people come with reinforcement, it’ll be over for us. Can you hear me?” “Yes, please just give me a few minutes; I’ll be with you.” “Open up, let me help you pack. It’ll be faster that way, alright?” I looked back at Lily, and she just flashed the screen of my phone in front of me with a text from Douglas. The text was an instruction from Douglas telling me not to open the door because the person behind the door wasn’t Luca

  • I CHOSE A BILLIONAIRE BABY DADDY   CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE: DOUGLAS KNOWS

July’s POV: “I can’t fucking believe I skipped the most amazing performance on earth for this. Somebody, please pinch me and tell me I didn’t skip BTS’s performance for an empty laptop.” Avery whined, pacing up and down. “Stop whining like a baby Avery; if you badly want to see BTS, you can book a ticket to their concert!” “You think it’s the same? I’ve just missed the opportunity I had to go home with Jhope or Jimin!” “Why not just host an orgy party with all seven of them, then?” “That could work also, but—“ “Guys! Please, my head’s spinning; I can’t even see clearly right now. So, please can you just keep it low?” I interrupted them from talking any further. When I said my head’s spinning, I’m not even kidding. I spent all evening executing a plan that turned out to be a complete waste of time and effort. “I can’t prove it yet, but I think he knew. The feeling is so strong that right now I’m beginning to think he set that stupid laptop there on purpose.” “And just
