Chapter 2

Author: Count to Three
“Oh, you’re married now. Congratulations! When will the wedding ceremony be?” his friends said behind him in shock.

“I knew it. William loves you so much. He must be in a hurry to marry you now that you’re an adult.”

Before we got married, William did a lot for me.

He would tutor me whenever I studied, and he would take the blame for me whenever I did something wrong. He was very much a part of my life.

Whenever I asked to go somewhere, he would immediately bring me out. Whenever I wanted to eat something, I would get it within half an hour.

Everyone thought that William loved me a lot, but this was not love to him.

“You’ve misunderstood—”

Before I could finish talking, William interrupted me coldly.

“She’s neither the one I love, nor the person I want to marry.”

He seemed to recall something as he grimaced. He did not even want to spare me a glance.

“She’s the one who misunderstood my actions and secretly registered our marriage behind my back. I didn’t agree to marry her, and I’d definitely never marry her.”

I found the situation a little funny.

“Why do you think you’re the one I married?”

“Who else would it be if it’s not me? I already asked Adam to pass my message to you. Why do you insist on not letting me go? Is it fun for you to force yourself on others?”

William’s gaze was cold, and it was obvious that he was disgusted with me.

I was about to retort that he could dream on when I saw Mandy standing behind him with teary eyes.

“William, if you’ve married her, what are we, then? Won’t I turn into a homewrecker? I don’t want that.”

She turned around to leave, but William anxiously grabbed her arm and hugged her.

He coaxed her softly, just like how he used to talk to me.

“Ignore her. You’re the person I love. Even if she forced the marriage on me, I’ll divorce her. I’ll only marry you.

“Mandy, ever since you took good care of me and donated your blood to save my life, I swore that I would marry you and care for you in return.

“So, please don’t let me go, alright?”

My best friend, Vicky White, exclaimed in shock, “Weren’t you the one who saved—”

I stopped her from talking.

Three months ago, William had gone out to stop a boat. Someone slashed his chest with a machete, and he was in critical condition that night.

I was the one who kept donating my blood to him and saved his life.

However, the truth got twisted, and Mandy took my place as his savior.

No wonder he hated me so much when Mandy died in the past.

“It doesn’t matter anymore.”

It was a fact that he kicked my life-saving medication away, and he ignored me for ten years.

To serenade Mandy, William asked the bar manager for a guitar and sang her a love song in front of everyone.

When his gaze landed on me, he paused for a moment before ignoring me.

He was singing the song that he had written for me when I was eighteen.

“Jade, I hope we’ll always be this happy together. I hope to sing this song for you for all of your future birthdays.”

I was disgusted, so I made up an excuse and left.

When I reached the corner, someone threw a basin full of powder at me.

Having asthma, I could not breathe in such a thing. I started losing my breath as I pressed my hand against my chest. Then, I fell to my knees.

“Why are you scheming against me? William just picked me up when you got someone to register your marriage secretly.

“Did you think that would deter me? Impossible. William says that he loves me.”

It was Mandy!

I bit my tongue to keep myself from passing out. I took out my inhaler but before I could use it, Mandy kicked it aside.

“Do you know what William told me?” Mandy crouched down smugly as she spoke. “He said that he only feels alive when he’s with me. I’m the one who makes him realize that his life is also—”

“Jade!”

Vicky rushed forward and pushed Mandy away. I grabbed Vicky with great difficulty. “Inhaler… My inhaler…”

When I finally got my inhaler, I recovered. Mandy realized that something was wrong, so she tried to run away.

“Who told you that I would accept being hurt this way? How dare you do this to me?”

I grabbed her hair to hit her head against the wall. Just then, someone pressed the cold barrel of a gun against the back of my head.

“Let her go.”

“Jade, now that the misunderstanding is resolved, and you don’t like Austin at all. “Can you divorce him? Let’s get married. I’m the one you love.” Austin was so pissed off that he wanted to shoot him. I stopped Austin. “From the moment you switched out all the long straws to the short ones, I no longer loved you. “I’ll try my best to love Austin, and I give my blessings to you and Mandy. William, I did nothing wrong to you.” I left with Austin. “It’s Austin that drove this wedge between us. He was the one who told you that I switched out the straws, right? He did that on purpose so we would not be together.“Jade, don’t believe him. Please, come back to me!” I did not turn around. I felt that it was unnecessary, and Austin was angry. “Alright, why are you getting angry over him? We’re the ones who dictate our own lives. Didn’t you promise to bring me on a honeymoon trip? Are we still going?”“Of course we are. I’m just angry at how shameless William is. He’s the

“It wasn’t him! You just found a random person to help your case!” That man, James Swift, did not want to admit it either. He kept saying that he would report me to the police. I smiled and said, “Don’t worry. I’ll get him to speak.” Adam immediately severed his pinky. James yelled in pain, and Mandy screamed in fear. “William…” She gulped.“Just let it slide. I’m afraid. Let’s go back, please? Jade is insane.”“No. What if you threaten to commit suicide again and blame it on me when you go back? Adam, keep going. If he doesn’t speak, just cut off all ten of his fingers.” James peed his pants out of fear. He collapsed to the floor and cried, “I’ll tell you the truth, I’ll tell you everything!“I didn’t kidnap Mandy. She’s my wife. We…”“Ah!” Mandy screamed and rushed to pull at his hair. “Nonsense! Stop framing me!” I waved, and Adam covered Mandy’s mouth with his hand so that she could stop talking. James continued cautiously, “Mandy and I had a wedding and then a ch

Austin snorted softly. “He’s so fake. I don’t think he’s that strong. He’s just trying to steal the attention away from me. It doesn’t matter if he’s causing a scene. I’m the one you’re marrying! I’m the groom!” William teared up. He had been staring at me in silence ever since he got pulled away. I bet he was extremely relieved. I had stopped forcing him to marry me. My father then announced that he would pass his role in North Town to Austin. “Mr. Anderson…” William was in disbelief. “How could you pass North Town to Austin? He’s a man of violence, and he won’t be able to lead.” “He can learn if he doesn’t know how to. I’m not dead yet, so I can still teach him for a few years,” my father said indifferently.“You’re indeed more qualified than he is, but only my daughter’s husband can be the successor. You’re not willing to marry Jade, so of course you’ve lost the chance to take over.” William was stunned, and he could no longer say another word. Thanks to me, my fa

“Obviously, it’s me.” Austin was wearing a tux that matched my wedding gown. He strode over and wrapped his hand around my waist.“This is my wedding with Jade. I’m her groom. What are you doing here? You’re taking my place. Why are you so shameless?” he said coldly.William frowned when he heard Austin’s words. I wanted to push William away, but he suddenly grabbed my arm and pulled me toward him. “Austin, it’s one thing for you to be reckless and do what you please on any regular day. But today’s an important day. Stop making a fuss here.“Jade will never marry you. She doesn’t like you at all.” I sneered and flung his hand away. “Why not? I drew the short straw in front of everyone, so why can’t I marry Austin?”William said, “Because…”Something seemed to occur to him as he suddenly stopped before snorting. “Jade, are you doing this to exact revenge on me? You’re the type that holds a grudge. Even if I give in, you won’t be satisfied.” He acted as though he knew

“I’m here to take my stuff. But it seems like I don’t have to anymore.” I took out my lighter and set the place on fire. I wanted to burn my past away. Mandy stared at the fire and trembled in fear. “Madwoman! You’re a madwoman!” “Jade!” William dragged me away in anger. “Are you insane? Do you think I’ll marry you if you kill Mandy? Can you stop being so stubborn and delusional?”I flung his hand away and calmly said, “I bought everything in Luna Residence, so I’m burning my own belongings. What’s wrong with that?“You can see Adam for property damages. I can afford to pay you.” William’s face fell, and he could not say another word. Austin sent me a list of the wedding gifts. When I looked at the familiar items, I finally knew why Austin scoffed when I married William in my past life. It turned out that Austin had prepared the list all along. William did not want to marry me, so he never put in any effort. However, I was blinded by love, and I did not notice it.

  • I Gave Up After Failing To Pull My Lover   Chapter 3

I personally bought this gun for William when he came to the Anderson family with Austin. He always cherished it and brought it with him everywhere he went. I never expected him to point it at me one day. Mandy cried, “I just bumped into Ms. Anderson. I didn’t expect her to call me a homewrecker and hit me…”When I heard her lies, I snorted. Before I could speak, William impatiently said, “Jade, apologize to Mandy.”I turned around to look at him. “You’re asking me to apologize to her?”Even though I no longer loved him, I still felt hurt. I was the most doted-upon heiress in all of North Town. No one had ever forced me to apologize before.“You hit and insulted her for no reason. Shouldn’t you apologize to her?” William was expressionless. “Apologize. Don’t force me to take matters into my own hands.”Vicky yelled, “Are you an idiot, William?! Don’t you know Mandy—” Right then, there was a cunning glint in Mandy’s eyes. She held her forehead and said, “William, I feel
