Chapter 2

Author: Blessed Ball
”I am the Crown Prince’s consort. How dare you lay a hand on me… Ah!”

The sharp blade sliced across my cheek. Beads of blood trickled down my neck.

Bayram and Rio closed in on me step by step. The blade was about to pierce my throat.

Messengers from the palace arrived.

A loud voice rang out. “I have come by the Crown Prince’s command to deliver Ms. Savoy’s wedding gown.”

When the butler, Mr. Smith, showed up, it sent everyone present into a panic. They all bowed in fear.

“Could Reverie Savoy truly be the Crown Prince’s consort? The palace even personally sent someone.”

“Are you crazy? How could His Majesty allow a spy from an enemy nation to marry the Crown Prince!”

“Enough talk! Can’t you see how dark the Crown Prince’s expression has turned!”

...

I paid no heed to their speculation and only thought of escaping the nonsensical situation as swiftly as possible.

After all, the Crown Prince had searched the entire realm for the finest embroiderers to create this wedding gown for me. If some reckless fool were to ruin it, he would surely be furious.

“General, His Highness the Crown Prince, may I leave now?”

Rio hesitated momentarily, but he eventually released my hand.

Mr. Smith quickly sensed the awkward atmosphere and smiled. He bowed slightly to me.

“Ms. Savoy, His Highness has specifically asked me to pass on a message to you.

“His Highness knows that you love magnolias the most. This is a pendant in the shape of a magnolia that he had crafted by artisans. He hopes you’ll like it.”

He handed the pendant to me. But before I could take it, Bayram, standing nearby, seemed to realize something. He raised his hand and used his powers to shatter the pendant.

He sneered in disdain.

“Such a clumsy trick might fool Rio. How dare you, imposter. Do you actually think of yourself as the Crown Prince’s consort?!”

“I’ve looked into this butler. He entered the palace the same year you returned. That could only mean he’s a spy, just like you!”

Bayram was confident in his assessment. He ordered for Mr. Smith and myself to be arrested.

“Your Highness, I am a direct servant of the Crown Prince! How dare you…. Ah!”

Mr. Smith’s loud voice rang out as Bayram raised his blade to the man’s throat.

“Rio, take him away.”

I wanted to struggle, but since Rio commanded an army of 100,000, I had no choice but to give up.

Mr. Smith, on the other hand, was completely dumbfounded. He shouted loudly about “mutiny!” In the end, one of his arms was chopped off by Bayram’s men.

“No matter who you really are, you must know where Reverie is!

“If you confess of your own accord, I just might spare your life!”

In the dungeon, I turned my head away and ignored Bayram’s threats. I closed my eyes and pretended to sleep.

In my previous timeline, I had believed Bayram’s words.

Just as I was about to be buried alive, I had confessed that I had no memory of my past. The only thing I remembered was that I was a spy sent by the enemy nation.

But Bayram had believed I was lying and cut out my tongue.

Meanwhile, Rio, who was standing nearby, showed not a shred of compassion in his eyes.

Ever since I lost my memory and arrived in the capital, they were the only two who had shown me any warmth.

They said my father and brother were heroes who had died on the battlefield. They had made it their duty to take care of me, an orphaned girl.

When faced with a young general whose presence was as refreshing as a spring breeze and a prince who was aloof yet secretly kind to me, my young heart naturally blossomed.

Later, when Bayram discovered my identity as a spy, he merely held me close in his arms as his heart ached for me.

“Reverie, that’s not your fault. The fact that you’ve returned alive is heaven’s greatest blessing to me.”

In contrast to those words, the agony I endured before dying in my previous two timelines was a constant reminder to me. I had been used as a decoy!

When I thought of this, I smiled.

“Just kill me if you dare!

“You two claim to be deeply in love, yet you went and staged fake deaths! Even if I’m not the real Reverie Savoy, I still wouldn’t stand for your dirty tricks!

“Using women as bargaining chips is truly disgusting!”

“Shut up!”

With a sharp slap, Rio, who had trained in martial arts for years, struck me with such force that half my face swelled up.

“Do you really think this would stop the enemy from advancing? The area thirty miles outside the city is swarming with enemy troops. You’re bound to lose!”Bayram, clutching at his last shred of hope, roared in fury, looking as though he had lost his mind.“Is that so?!”A familiar voice rang out from the crowd. A majestic warhorse galloped forward, and the rider’s face gradually came into view.It was Wesley. He was awake!“The garrison outside the city has been completely wiped out. Bayram, you have completely lost!”Wesley leaped from his horse, walked up to me, and stared coldly at him.“This can’t be! This can’t be! You were poisoned with the Week Powder. How could you possibly still be alive?! It was you, Rio! Why did you betray me? Don’t you know that this Reverie standing before you is a fake?”Rio pulled out a human-faced mask and tossed it at his feet.“And still, you tried to deceive me! I always thought of our childhood friendship, so when you proposed a fair conte

“I’m not afraid to tell you this. Do you know why I chose the Crown Prince so resolutely?”Rio shook his head in confusion, but what I said next shattered his heart once again.“Because I have already died twice!“My cover was blown. You and Bayram, driven by rivalry, staged fake deaths to see who I would choose! In both timelines, I took turns choosing each of you, but in the end, you tortured me to death!“Rio, you claimed to love me, but you never believed me! You only love the Reverie projected in your imagination. Not me!”I growled softly, finally able to vent the secret I’d been holding deep inside.Rio clearly did not believe me, but he was still deeply shaken and took a few steps back.“It’s not like that. How could I ever hurt you? I love you so much...Reverie, you must be making this up…”Smack!“Enough! Can’t you see the truth?!”I grabbed his sleeve and pointed at Wesley lying on the bed. “This is the Crown Prince of Lacrea. Do you realize that Bayram is using yo

As far as he could recall, both he and Rio had worked their way up to where they were through their own efforts. So why, then, did he poison Wesley? “Reverie, do you remember when we first met? Back then, I was just part of a lowly collateral branch. You were the one who told me that if I wanted something, I had to learn to fight for it myself.” “Once I thought I had enough power to marry you, a royal decree was issued, and you became the King’s handpicked consort to the Crown Prince Wesley. I hated it! How dare they just snatch you away from me like that? So, I kept building my power, but then, you were captured by the enemy nation!“Thank Heavens for they protected you, and you returned safely. But you came back with Rio. You said you found him among the dead. Because of that, as soon as Rio woke up, he immediately asked for your hand in marriage. I was one step too late again.” As he spoke, Bayram walked toward me with a look of infatuation, paying no heed to his bleeding wou

“Rio, what are you standing there for? Do you really want Reverie to die here?“Hurry up and get her out of here!”Bayram roared. Rio immediately drew his sword and led “Reverie Savoy” out of the encirclement.“Usurpation and rebellion. Prince Bayram, have you decided how you want to die?” I walked up to Bayram and looked down at him.The king decreed that Bayram Anjou had attempted treason. He was to be executed at a later date.Upon hearing that, Bayram showed not a trace of fear. Instead, he stared at me in bewilderment.“What kind of sorcery have you used to make both the king and Prince Wesley protect you like this!“You’re nothing but an imposter… Ow…”The sharp crack of a slap echoed distinctly through the hall. Even at that moment, he still refused to accept the truth. After my father and brother fell in battle, I was indeed captured by the enemy nation.Along the way, I was rescued by men sent by the King. At that time, I was consumed by a desire for revenge, so I ha

Unless…Pointing at the spy, he ordered my execution.Bayram, your time has come! The hall erupted in an instant. Ministers who had long harbored resentment toward Crown Prince Wesley’s faction leaped to their feet.“Your Majesty, this woman has beguiled the Crown Prince Wesley. Her crime deserves execution!“Crown Prince Wesley has been beguiled by her beauty. Your Majesty, please think this through. The heir to the throne must not be such a foolish man!“Your Majesty, now that Ms. Savoy has been found, we implore you to make a decision. The wedding banquet that day ended in a hasty mess.Upon learning that the assassin had escaped, Wesley was furious and did not set foot in my chambers for several days. The servants in the mansion began to speculate, convinced that I had fallen out of favor.Rumors even began to spread that I, a spy, would soon be executed.Unable to sit still, I began plotting my escape. But I never imagined that the servants, eager to curry favor, would poison my food.“Could it be that even after living through two timelines, I am still unable to change my fate?”I murmured in anguish.Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. It was one of Wesley’s attendants. “Your Highness, Crown Prince Wesley has asked me to take you somewhere.”I pulled out the dagger hidden under my pillow, gripped it tightly, and replied. “Where to? And where is Wesley? Why hasn’t he been in the palace these past few days?”“We do not know, for we are merely servants. Please hurry, Your Highness. If we don’t arrive
