Oh Mother

We couldn’t go out to dinner with our mothers.

If we did, I was sure we would probably get kicked out.

So we had dinner at the Monroe’s. I was sure it was because Bianca wanted a home field advantage and maybe to force Willow to stay there.

I was determined to make sure she left with me, though.

My hope was that this dinner would be easier than the one with our dads since we had Gerald to take some of the heat off of us.

“So…” Willow started. “Why don’t we get down to business? What do you want to yell at us about?”

“You know, Willow, before you started dating this young man, you didn’t speak to me like this.” Bianca pointed out.

“Are you just not going to address me by name?” I asked.

“No, I’m not!”

“Don’t snap at my son like that!” Mom stated. “You be mean to your own child, not mine.”

“Oh you’ve been mean enough to your son for the both of us!” Bianca shot back.
