CHAPTER 44 THE WIND IS COLD INTHE GARDEN AT NIGHT

After dropping Cecilia off at her house, Phil immediately goes to the mansion to search for Carmen because it is already late. He attempted to knock on the door of the maid's quarters in a different building to see if anybody would answer, but no one does. He is irritated because he couldn't find Carmen so they can converse. He feels compelled to defend himself.

He noticed a person seated on their preferred bench beneath the Molave tree as he was making his approach to the mansion. The garden was really chilly outside. It was Carmen, who was glumly gazing off into the distance and seemed to be deep in thought. Phil just took a position far behind her so he could observe her. He then observed Carmen burying her face in her hands as she began to cry.

At that moment, he approached her and asked, "What are you doing here? When Carmen heard Phil's voice, she stopped sobbing. Phil is aware of her whereabouts. When she turned around, she noticed Phil standing behind the bench and glaring at
