Chapter 4

Chloe continued taunting me.

I almost lost control and wanted to punch Chloe in her face.

Just when I was about to lose control, Julian said coldly, “Scarlett, don’t forget about your grandmother.”

It felt like a slap across my face. My heart sank.

My grandmother was my only remaining family member. Seven years ago, she was extremely ill. I had no options remaining.

Julian showed up. He simply asked his assistant to hand me a card and saved my grandmother’s life.

To repay his kindness, I went through inhumane training to earn a place by Julian’s side.

He knew how important my grandmother was to me.

And he was using her to threaten me.

The fight left my body.

Chloe was satisfied by my vacant stare. She slapped me forcefully and kicked me in my shin.

I lost my balance and stumbled forward. Shards of glass cut through my skin, and I immediately started bleeding.

Chloe lifted her leg up and aimed her sharp heel at my fingers.

“Why are you stalling your performance? Crawl, now!”

I crawled forward like an emotionless robot. I could even see my bone through the cut flesh.

My dignity was smashed like the champagne glass.

Chloe snorted in disdain.

“You don’t even have any expressions. This is so boring.”

Julian pursed his lips impatiently.

“Alright, Chloe, you…”

He was talking halfway when a loud noise came from the entrance.

“Mr. Sterling, you caused me so much damage, and you’re here living your best life!”

I felt my neck being restricted at an odd angle. Someone was holding me hostage.

Chloe was also subdued.

Julian clenched his fist.

“Let go of her! Fight me all you want!”

The person behind me sneered.

“Her? There are two women in my arms right now. I’m unsure which one are you referring to?”

My eyes widened in shock. It was Cody Black’s voice!

He was Julian’s nemesis. Two years ago, he tried to frame Julian when he was jailed because Julian had bribed his trusted subordinate.

I had not expected him to already be out of prison!

An overwhelming fear overcame me. I was afraid of what a single desperado like Cody would be capable of doing!

Cody sneered.

“I heard that this bodyguard is your mistress? How about sharing her with me?”

Everyone’s eyes immediately fell on me. Chloe’s evil and jealous gaze was extremely obvious.

Julian looked calm, but his forehead was covered in sweat.

“I’ve already called the police. If you want to go back to prison again, be my guest!”

“I’ve come too far to cause you a mere disturbance. One is your fiance, and the other your old flame. Mr. Sterling, who would you choose?”

When Julian remained silent, Cody sneered and asked his employee to bring someone up.

When I spotted the gray-haired old woman, I lost my mind.

“Grandma!”

I immediately burst into tears.

“Julian, please save my grandmother!

My grandmother was not in good health. She had been at the rehabilitation center all along. She could not take any stress!

“Mr. Sterling, if you still hesitate, I’ll kill off this old hag.”

Julian shut his eyes tightly as a vein in his forehead throbbed.

After a while, he opened his bloodshot eyes and said in a hoarse voice, “Let Chloe go.”

After Julian said that, my grandmother fainted in the perpetrator’s grip.

My world immediately fell apart. I lost control and yelled ferociously.

“Julian, please save my grandmother!”

Cody ignored my pleas as he pushed Chloe into Julian’s arms. He smiled evilly and dragged me out.

“I thought you were a grateful man. I didn’t expect you to be so heartless! Your bodyguard has done so much for you, and you’re giving her up just like that!

“Since that’s the case, I’ll take her. She must be great in bed if you keep coming back.”

Cody drugged me, and I lost all of my energy.

He dragged me to the bushes. Even though I tried my best to break free, my clothes were still torn apart.

“Let me have a taste of Sterling’s woman!”

Just when I felt like giving up, someone pulled the man on top of me away.
