Chapter 3

When the joining was over and it was time to take pictures, you could clearly see Valerio's family in total dismay. They definitely didn't come to see him get married, and everyone was looking for Carlos.

My family on the other hand, had to pretend and smile about everything.

My mother came to stand beside me, taking pictures with me.

"Scarlett what is going on?", she asked through her fake smile while posing for the camera.

"What? you're not happy to see me married?", I asked returning the fake smile.

"That is not the man you've been together with for years, that's not the man you introduced us to, who is this?".

"Valerio, he's Carlos brother and he agreed to marry me because Carlos said he won't, I did this to save our family from shame", I said.

"What did you do to Carlos to make him dump you on your wedding day?!!".

Oh yes, I'm always at fault.

"I did nothing ", I said and then moved away from her and went to Valerio to take pictures with him.

"How's your family taking the shock?", he asked.

"Oh.. it's uhh, terrible, I mean thank God she's not raging, she would have if this wedding didn't hold, how's yours?", I asked.

"Oh they're looking for Carlos, but honestly I don't care", he said.

"Today is... so crazy", I said between smiles

"Tell me about it, do you wanna get out of here? go to my house and run away from these people?", he asked.

"I will love to, but my mother has 9 million questions to ask, and she was really invested in the reception, I have to at least honour her for that one ", I said.

"Alright then, if you say so", he said.

The reception started and My mother and my cousin and my aunt pulled me aside for a moment.

"Scarlett what is happening here?".

"Look, Carlos decided to break up with me today, and Yes he walked out on me, I was heartbroken and went to cry in the garden and that was when I met his brother and I suggested he marries me, because he mentioned that he had somethings in his father's will to collect if he gets married and...I didn't want to bring shame to us, so I told him we can get married so the people we invited won't laugh at us and, immediately after he gets the properties, we'll divorce, he might even give me something to go with, a little money, it could help us", I said.

", That's actually a genius plan", my cousin mumbled 

"For the first time you're actually playing smart, well done Scarlett ", My aunt said.

Oh wow, that's the sweetest thing they've ever said to me.

"But you have to get Carlos back, he's the family heir, he is where all the money is, why would you fumble him?", my mother asked pissed.

"I'm sorry, I will get him back, I promise ", I said.

They sighed, "Where's Isabella?", my mother asked.

"Haven't seen her ever since we walked her in", my cousin Said 

"She's probably around, frolicking with Rich men, finding herself a husband, I've raised her well", my mother Said.

"Listen, you better demand good money from that man alright? you better, because you're doing him a big favour, The Alessandro's are very wealthy, so you better dig well".

"Yes mother ".

"And this your plan better work".

"It will".

"Now go", she said and I did.

I dragged myself and went to meet Valerio.

He was with a group of guys his age talking, he seemed very comfortable with them

"We can go now ", I said.

"Thank you ", he said so excited to leave here by all means.

"We'll catch up later yeah, tell everyone I left ", he said leading me out of the garden and to the other side of the hotel where his car was.

"Take off your shoes if they hurt", he Said sweetly.

I smiled, he is such a gentleman.

I got into the back of the car and took them off.

He hoped in and we drove away.

"I uhm, I want to say thank you, thank you so much for doing this for me, it means a lot for me you have no idea.. thank you so much ", I said minutes into the ride.

"I should be thanking you honestly, you don't know what you've done for me, you have no idea ", he said.

About 30 minutes later, we pulled up in front of something that looked like a castle.

A glass castle.

The building was big, very very big. And it was made of glass.

The security here was insane, it was like it guided the president or something.

Who is this man?

He got out and tossed the key at someone.

"Welcome young master", the man at the door said.

"Where's Nona?", he asked.

"She's inside ".

"Please tell her I need her", I said.

A few seconds later, a middle aged woman appeared.

"Good evening Valerio ", she said.

"Good evening Nona, this is Rose, Rose this is Nona she's the house keeper, very friendly, she'll help you out through everything you need and need to know, I'm exhausted, I need to crash so I can wake up early tomorrow ", he said hurriedly walking into the house.

"Well who is she?"Nona asked.

"My New bride... for the while ", he said getting into the house.

She turned and looked at me.

"How come I never knew he was getting married? but he said he was going for his brothers wedding ", she exclaimed shocked.

"Actually, I was supposed to be his brothers bride, but his brother dumped me so, he kinda, married me to avoid shame on my side and uhm, I think it favours him as well".

She opened her mouth shocked 

"Come in and give me all the gossip in details ", she said pulling me into the house.

I broke Into a smile, giggling.

Okay, just okay.

Maybe this wasn't so much of a bad idea.
