Scarlett pov

what the hell just happened??? I muttered still frozen, why would he act like that ??

**footsteps approaching**

"What happened here!!!" exclaimed nona "I heard shouting and valerio refused to tell me anything!!, what the hell happened here!!!

"Scarlett!?, SCARLETT!!???," nona said rushing towards me "GET VALERIO QUICKLY" nona gestured to maid that I had now noticed holding a tray of food and another maid holding something else

"i- I'm fine nona" I said quickly snapping out of my frozen self once valerio's name was mentioned

What the hell happened here Scarlett nona said in calm voice

"I-i- I- h- h-he-e" I said sputtering, the words refusing to come out

"it's ok my child" nona said softly leading me to the bed "let's get you dressed up first and fed then we can talk about it" she said gesturing to one of the maids to come closer, the maid handed her some fresh clothes

"here, go change into these" she said handing me the clothes " set up the food annette" she said gesturing to the maid while I slipped into the bathroom to get dressed while the maid headed to valerio's dinning table

the clothes looked and smelt fresh but they didn't look or feel new, they looked like they once belonged to someone else...

but I quickly brushed the thought off as I slipped the gown over my head

as soon as I stepped out, the maids looked at me strangely for a second and went back to setting up the table

Weird....

"thank you for the clothes nona, I really had no idea what I was going to wear as soon as I was done with showering" I said trying to keep my voice steady

"oh it's nothing child, I'm just happy that her dress fits you perfectly" she said

"her clothes??" I said questioningly , my eyebrows raised

"did I say her clothes, I meant the clothes" nona said laughing nervously

"oohh don't mind me child, this old age is getting to me" she said when she noticed I was staring at her

come come now child, come sit down, you must be starving

"i- I'm not hungry" I said, and as if on cue my stomach started growling

*chuckling* she said "come sit down down child, the cook made this specially for you

defeatedly I made my way to the dining table

the maids opened the food as soon as I sat down the aroma filling my nose instantly

hmmm I said before I could stop myself closing my eyes "paella , my favorite" I said already dishing the rice into my plate, the maids bowing their heads slightly and leaving the room

"when are the movers bringing in your things dear" said nona after watching me eat for a while

"my friend Roxane is handling everything, I was going to ask you for the address of this place so I could text it to her before valerio....." I said catching myself

talk to me Scarlett, tell me what happened she said softly

so I did and by the time I finished she didn't look at all surprised

she was quiet for too long...

"well, aren't you going to say anything" I said looking at her expectantly

he should've known better than to barge into the bosses room like that without waiting for an answer to come in

wait.... what???, you can't be serious I said very astonished

"listen to me Scarlett" nona said suddenly frantic "I may have taken care of him from the time he was a baby till now but that doesn't mean I can cross his boundaries or test his patience

"valerio is a very dangerous man" she said suddenly looking around as if there was someone else in the room asides us

"you might be his wife, but don't think he can't make you disappear if you betray him just once"

" I know I'm scaring you my child" she continued after seeing my face "but there is a reason why he's called the black sheep of the family, why he's called the outcast even tho he's technically their half brother

"but, it can't be that bad" I exclaimed

"no it's not, valerio isn't evil like his half brother Carlos, but he's far more dangerous than Carlos ever would and knowing him, that butler boy would probably be dead if you hadn't stopped him" she continued her expression hardened

be rest assured that he would never lay his hands on you, he is not like that at all, but you don't dare betray him or he will punish you Soo bad you would wish he'd have killed you in the first place....

"now eat up, before your meal gets too cold" she said her voice now calmer gesturing to my plate

except.... I had already lost appetite as soon as she started talking about him

i- I can't nona, I don't have any appetite to eat anymore I said putting down my spoon I said softly

but you've barely touched your food, and you look soo thin, you haven't been feeding properly since you got here

"I'm fine nona" I said trying to convince her"I've had enough food to eat , I must retire to my room to rest, I've had enough drama to last me a lifetime" I said getting up slowly

retire to your room?? she said confused 'but valerio said you both had discussed that you were going to stay in here room as husband and wife"

"i- I never said that, I didn't say that at all" I said my tone increasing with eat words

"listen to me child" I'm not telling you all these to scare you but to tell u the type of marriage you're getting yourself into...

valerio is a sweet, loving gentle man and although he might not show it outrightly, he isn't evil like the rest of his family and I am Soo glad he is the family's new patriarch instead of that evil boy Carlos...

the only thing you need to do is to show your loyalty to him and never neverrr betray him.......

"I need to go" I said moving towards the door

"but you can't leave" she said frantically valerio sa.....

"if valerio wants me" I said cutting her up "he's going to have to come get me himself I said sharply and without another word I opened the door and slammed it shut ......
