05 || Alex Hale, My Nemesis

Chapter Five: Alex Hale, My Nemesis.

Eli's POV

I quickly typed a reply and she instantly replied also.

Yes, I will be glad to be in charge of your wedding arrangement -Me.

Good, send your location details. I will love to meet you. – Daphne.

Ninth Avenue, Great Dane City, Opposite Teasquer- Me.

Really? I also stay at GD. It is to make things easier. When will you be available?- Daphne.

Anytime my Client is – Me.

Good, 2 PM on Wednesday- Daphne.

I thought about it for a while and nodded my head. It would work.

Yes, Wednesday. Thank you for your patronage.- Me.

I looked up to see my mother and father peering at me expectantly. I smiled and dropped my phone. “I was speaking with a client. Nothing much.” I said.

“You looked focused.” My mother said in admiration and my heart melted. She was indirectly saying she was proud of me. I smiled even more and dug into my food. Daphne was going to get married. Even though I don’t really know her, who ever she must be getting married to must be one hell of a rich man. Hmm, more money to make.

“You are going to do great!” My father commented and my eyes turned watery.

Maybe coming home was not bad after all. I smiled at them and nodded my head.

All I ever craved was their support.

“Yes, guess what?!” I chirped excitedly as I clicked the green button. Ashley had sent me a message that she was going to call to see if it was alright for her. When she did, I explained to her what happened. She scoffed and gave some swear words about how despicable Jace was. I brushed them off.

“What? You met HIM?” she asked, with a bored tone.

My brows creased and a frown crossed my face. “No.” I replied sternly.

Why does she have to always involve him in every of our conversation?

I know she was the number one router for our relationship but since it ended, she should stop right?

“Then what is it?” She asked.

“I got a new client here at GD and guess what, she is the daughter of the president of GD gold jewelry company.” I said.

“Really? That is nice. So you won't be coming over her for the mean time?” she asked.

“Yes, I don’t even know what to say. I don’t think I will be coming anymore.” I said and almost regretted admitting the baffling truth. Maybe I should start over here. I slumped on the bed, there is no way I can, it has not been easy building my reputation over there and here, it won't still be easy.

“Don’t talk like that, worry about the new client. Everything will fall in place.” She said and I relaxed.

Everything would fall in place. I hope so.

“I wish you good luck on the deal.” She said again and I smiled.

“Thank you. And how are you feeling there? Hope no disturbance?” I asked and she scoffed.

“No disturbance.” She said and I could feel like she was lying.

“He is still calling you for stupid forgiveness?”

“No, like I would pick his calls.” She snorted.

“I hope you won't. Starting over is not that bad of an idea.” I added and she sighed.

“it is not easy. But I will try.” She said.

We spoke about other things and said goodbyes. I stared at the ceiling as I anticipated meeting my first client here in GD.

Two days later, I stood in front of the restaurant I am supposed to be meeting with my client, Daphne. I had woken up early and done my proper research. My mother had prayed for me that I would get the deal whether the devil likes it or not. I laughed at her and now, I am standing before the place, my heart banging on the walls of chest as if I am walking in to meet my doom. Exhaling deeply and biting my lower lips, I made my way into the restaurant. I noticed they were yet to come so I got myself busy with going through what my team has been up to. I had sent a message to Daphne earlier on and she had told me she was coming with her fiancé. I just hope he was not going to be a pain in the ass. Like my last one.

I got myself busy with my I*******m blog and started editing some of the event photos. Even though I was not good at it, I still tried my best and I loved every bit of it.

“Miss, will you like to order something?” I heard the waiter ask. I looked up and shook my head.

He gave a curt nod and walked away. I released a deep breath and looked around. Had she arrived yet?

Maybe I should place a call to her. She had already given me her phone number.

I dialed her phone and she picked it up instantly. “We just got here. Will be entering soon.” She said immediately and I disconnected the call.

I went through the pictures I will be showing her and encouraged myself mentally.

You can do this.

“Sorry for keeping you late.” Her soft voice came from behind me and I stood up instantly. A smile parted on my lips automatically and I shook my head.

“It is nothing.” I said and she chuckled.

I looked around and did not see her fiancé. “I thought you were coming with your fiancé?” I asked her.

She looked back and shook her head. “Oh, I though we came in… oh, he is right here.” She said and I turned around to see him and, only for me to come face to face to the most dreadful face I had sworn never to come in contact with. The face I had vowed to avoid my whole life. Forever.

That face belonged to him. Alex. Alex Hale's face.

The Devil himself. Heartbreak prince himself.

Alex Hale, My nemesis.
