Damien’s POV

Ariana was fast asleep by the time Bruce pulled the Maybach into the private garage beneath my penthouse.

I sat in the quiet dark, looking at her. Part of me wanted to wake her up right then and remind her who she was dealing with. I had never met a woman as stubborn or reckless as Ariana Carter.

Hours ago, I gave her clear rules: no parties, no unchaperoned events, and no surrounding herself with random men. The memory of other guys touching her made my hands clench into fists.

Ariana’s POVThe studio was quiet. The city glittered eighty floors down, but inside, everything was reduced to the glass drafting table and the relentless, steady click of Damien’s fountain pen against heavy stock paper. He hadn’t brought up Ryan. Not when Bruce dropped us off, not while we ate, and not now. No questions about whether I was okay or if seeing my past in Soho had shaken me. He just sat there in his rolled-up shirt sleeves, marking up lighting schematics as if nothing had happened. That was Damien. He didn't process things out loud. He just kept moving, totally untouched.Except I couldn't stop repeating what he'd said in the foyer. You surrender nothing to me unless you choose to.Ryan had spent years making intimacy feel like an invoice I had to settle. Damien had taken the bill, torn it up, and handed the room back to me.And that scared me far more than being told what to do ever could. Because without an order, a debt, or a contrac

  • I Married My Father’s Creditor    Chapter 14

Ariana’s POVMy hands wouldn't stop shaking.Even after Bruce escorted Jade and me into the back of the heavy black SUV and pulled away from the Soho curb, leaving Ryan behind in the dust, the disgust lingering on my skin refused to wash off."You couldn't even give me the bare minimum when we were together..."His words persisted, sharp and poisonous. When my family’s world fell apart, when my mother was drowning in debt and my sister was crying herself to sleep, Ryan hadn't offered a hand. He had demanded my body as payment for his loyalty. And when I refused to let him touch me, he called me frigid and useless, walking out the door without looking back."Ari, look at me," Jade said softly, taking both of my cold hands in hers in the back seat. "That piece of garbage doesn't define you. He’s bitter because he’s a nobody and you're rising.""He looked at me like I was something he owned," I whispered, staring down at my charcoal-stained fingers. "He assessed my outfit and assum

  • I Married My Father’s Creditor    Chapter 13

Ariana’s POVHaving a dream is entirely different from executing a forty-million-dollar reality.By 2:00 AM, my private studio space in the penthouse looked like a battleground. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls reflected the glow of three open laptops, dozens of floor plan blueprints, and towering stacks of corporate design handbooks. My eyes burned from hours of endless reading, and my spine felt permanently locked.I was brilliant at the art—the textures, the light, the soul of a building. But I had never worked inside a multi-billion-dollar corporate empire like Voss Enterprises. I didn't know their internal coding formats, their structural compliance protocols, or their exact house style for executive board presentations.I was drowning in logistics, and the terrifying weight of failing on my very first independent contract was crushing my chest.Exhausted, I slumped back against my chair, picked up my phone, and dialed Jade."Ari? It's past two in the morning," Jade’s groggy vo

  • I Married My Father’s Creditor    Chapter 12

Ariana’s POVWhen Bruce delivered the sleek, velvet-lined box from an exclusive Madison Avenue boutique at 5:00 PM, my first instinct was to send it back. But inside lay a heavy black card and a handwritten note in Damien’s sharp, commanding cursive:“7:30 PM. The Grand Regency Hotel. Look the part.”If I was going to walk into a room with the man who had silently ignored my soul's work for three straight days, I was not going to look like a defeated, desperate student. I stepped into the dress—a floor-length gown of deep emerald silk jersey that draped across my collarbone like liquid fire, clinging tightly to the curve of my waist before plunging into a dangerous side slit. I pinned my dark hair up into a loose, elegant chignon, letting soft, stray curls kiss the nape of my neck. To finish it, I fastened a delicate diamond choker around my throat—a glittering reminder of the golden cage I was trapped in.When I stepped into the penthouse foyer, Damien was waiting by the private

  • I Married My Father’s Creditor    Chapter 11

Ariana’s POVDay three of total, suffocating silence from Voss Enterprises, and my patience had completely run out.Every morning, I checked my student portal, expecting at least a rejection email. Every evening, I refreshed my inbox until my eyes burned from the harsh screen glow. Nothing. Damien had time to run a multi-billion-dollar empire, freeze out political rivals, and dictate what time I ate dinner, but his HR department couldn't even bother to acknowledge a forty-page architectural proposal. He was deliberately ignoring it. Or worse—he had glanced at my student ID number, realized it was me, and tossed my work straight into the trash without giving it a second thought. If he was going to treat me like an invisible ghost in his corporate world, I was going to make his home life an absolute nightmare. It started at breakfast.Usually, I sat quietly, ate whatever the staff prepared, and answered Damien’s blunt questions with polite, minimal responses. Not today. When Dami

  • I Married My Father’s Creditor    Chapter 10

Damien’s POV By 8:00 AM, my top-floor office smelled of burnt espresso, stale air, and sheer corporate panic. I stood at the massive glass window, staring down at the blur of Manhattan traffic while Miller, my Chief Operating Officer, practically wore a hole in my rug pacing behind me. Forty million dollars was on the line. Jean-Luc Moreau, our biggest European client, was ready to yank his contract for the Midtown Tower project because my design team had handed him another sterile box of cold glass and polished chrome. He wanted "soul." He wanted "texture." And right now, my firm was giving him a corporate graveyard. "How many do we have lined up?" I asked, keeping my voice flat to hide the low, grating headache building behind my eyes. "Six, sir," Miller stammered, frantically wiping sweat from his forehead. "HR pulled the top spatial and textile conceptualists in the city. The interviews start now." "Three minutes each," I turned around, dropping into my leather chair
