“Honestly speaking, who in their right senses would trust the loyalty of a poor man?” Hilton giggled as he poked fun at Alejandro without holding back.

For the second consecutive time, Hilton roasted Alejandro like a barbecue chicken for trying to be supportive.

One would think that Alejandro had offended Hilton in the past to warrant the constant humiliation.

The way Hilton does it so effortlessly makes Alejandro wonder if he studied naughtiness at the university.

“How dare you speak to my father in such a manner? Have you suddenly lost your mind?” Mary raged as she stood up to confront Hilton. That was the only time she ever spoke.

“Who's talking?

I can't find anyone.

Am I beginning to imagine things that aren't real?” Hilton muttered to himself as he narrowed his gaze around.

He knew for sure that Mary was the one speaking, yet he decided to play mind games to spite her.

“You can pretend not to see me for all you care, but the truth remains that you are so harsh and disrespec

His stressed face had become fresh and spotless. He made a move to leave, but Alejandro didn't. He stood there watching Hilton like a dummy.“I said let's go. What are you still waiting for?” Hilton repeated his utterances. He already assumed that Alejandro didn't hear him the first time. “Like this?” he pointed at Hilton's outfit. Hilton fumed. His father hadn't opposed his choice of outfit before. This time, Alejandro was smart enough to avoid it.He walked away. “You're going to drive behind me,” he decided. “No, I'm not. We drive in my car." Hilton decided. He was damn serious about it, even though he was smiling. The insult was too much for Alejandro. He didn't even know how to react to it. That was the only moment he ever remembered that he was poor. He tried to speak, but the words refused to come out. His lips suddenly became too big to move sideways. He endured the insult and went to sit at the front next to Hilton. “What do you think you're doing?” Hilton que

  • I Married The Devil's Advocate    Reaching A Compromise

“Hey, Hilton, your father is on the phone. He wants to speak with you right now,” ALEJANDRO disclosed while stretching his hand to pass his phone over to Hilton. Alejandro wasn't convinced about letting Hilton have his phone for the second time. He won't stop withdrawing his hand every second. He has a feeling that Hilton won't display any emotions. Hilton turned his back against ALEJANDRO as he took another shot of vodka to cool off. He wasn't interested in speaking with his father. He wasn't happy that his father refused to meet his demand. He just can't deal with that anymore. “I just want to be left alone,” Hilton declined while directing his gaze at the bar. He didn't even bother to confirm who was calling. He has already decided to prioritize his liquor over his father. He considered his father the enemy now. And with the liquor, that's where he finds comfort. “You already concluded that you were never going to answer the phone. Does that sound right to you?' Alejand

  • I Married The Devil's Advocate    Held To A Ransome

“I thought you wanted to say something important. I can't believe you dragged me into suspense just to say trash." You do expect me to waste my time telling you a story about my past.” Antonio flared up. “I think you've overstayed your welcome. Now, I want you to leave, or else I will be forced to call the doctor to have you kicked out.” He puts more effort into ensuring that Mary leaves immediately. His rage was supposed to invoke the spirit of fear in Mary. Rather, it turned out to be a complete waste of time. Mary still proved to be an unstoppable force that can't be moved by threat. She looked him in the eyes. “I may not be the only one to be sent outside. I could literally ask my dad to abolish the mission." She laughed mischievously and went back to get seated even without being asked. The laughter was enough to send pain to Antonio's already shattered heart. He gnashed his teeth and prepared his fist to attack Mary regardless of his health. The doctor categorically war

  • I Married The Devil's Advocate    Directness

To crown it all, Hilton didn't pay her for the sex they had. Which means he gets to save his money, time, and energy on her. “She has left now.” Hilton went back to ALEJANDRO with a lot of anticipation. He's hoping ALEJANDRO won't make him regret letting Anita leave. “Your father suffered a heart crisis shortly after the heated argument between you two last night,” ALEJANDRO explained. “My father has a heart attack, and I am just getting to find out about it.” Hilton fumed. He hated that he'd been left as though he's an outsider, whereas he's the first son. Heir apparent to Antonio's billionaire empire. “The doctor requested the presence of a family member to sign the consent form before he proceeds with the operation," Alejandro disclosed. He's tired of explaining everything to Hilton over a thousand times. “And my father suggested that I come over with you, didn't he?” Hilton smiled and licked his lips. His actions were somewhat complicated for Alejandro. Alejandro could

  • I Married The Devil's Advocate    Time Is Of The Essence

“I am not going to ask you this question for the second time, Mary. What in heaven's name are you doing here? I don't recall inviting you over.” Antonio was furious at Mary. He was yet to understand why she had to return. To make it worse, she has refused to speak, making it more difficult for Antonio to comprehend. “Before you condemn me to death, can I at least be seated?" She begged to be heard. Deep down, she knows she's the last person Antonio would want to set his eyes on at the moment. She also promised not to waste Antonio's time by dragging words like the previous time. A note of direct speech is what she aimed for. Antonio saw Mary in a different kind of mood that hadn't been witnessed before. He's convinced that she's going to make sense after the previous disastrous performance that nearly made him call the cops on her. “You have your moment with me," Antonio sighed while granting Mary's wish to speak. He, however, warned her not to do something else stupid, o

  • I Married The Devil's Advocate    Stepping On Hilton's Toes

“What if Alejandro calls back to pass more information to me regarding Hilton?” Antonio thought to himself. The thought never crossed his mind before he considered switching off his phone just to avoid calls from Romeo. He also considered the possibility of Romeo not calling back after the dismissal. After a thorough deliberation, he finally came up with the conclusion. One that might make or mar him. “I think I'm just going to switch off the phone. That's the only way out. I don't see Romeo calling back again,” Antonio decided after analyzing Romeo's busy schedule. He was even surprised that Romeo called. Antonio can't recall the last time Romeo visited the mansion, let alone reached out to him over the phone. Like a patient dog, he waited and stared at his phone. He hoped that Romeo would never call back. The only call he wants to receive is from Alejandro. Somehow, Antonio's wishes came to pass. He didn't get a call from Romeo, nor a text. “This is a sign that I'm free
