I quickly regained my composure, picked up the box and placed it in the backseat, smelling his perfume in the car, and gosh, I felt like choking - don't mind me, it smelled so nice, but I wouldn't agree to that.

“ Galinda said I'll be driving you to court?” I asked, holding my head high.

“ Did she?” He asked, amusement clearly written on his face.

“ Let's make this clear sir, you employed me, yes, as a lawyer, and not as your driver, and permit me to say that this will be the last time that this kind of thing will ever happen”, I would've added ‘ have I made myself clear?’

“ Okay”, he said, sounding unoffended, much to my surprise.

He got into the car and I zoomed off, still feeling angry but not knowing exactly why. I watched him from the rear mirror as he absorbed himself into his iPad, and I felt the rising sensation to jump to the back of the car and strangle him to death.

“ Unless you want to get us both killed, I recommend that you turn your gaze and pay attention

“ Dante! Dante, get back here this instant, Dante!” Hakim screamed but alas, I was already out of his office, making my way to the elevator. The elevator was still on the last floor, and with how impatient I was, I hurried off to use the staircase, besides, my office was just right on the next floor below. As I scurried on the staircase I brought out my phone to text Cole, and immediately I got to my floor, there he was, alighting from the elevator. He wore a smile at first, but the smile instantly faded into a worried face as he saw how disgruntled my face was. “ Hey, what's wrong?” He asked, coming up to me. “ I'll tell you later. Just get settled in, and inform the others that we have an important meeting by 9:00 O clock on the dot”, I said, still trotting my way to my office. One I got to my office, I checked the time, and it was 8:46 am, meaning that there was still fourteen minutes left before the meeting, so I decided to go over the case file. I opened the fil

“ Somewhere”, I replied, care freely walking in and relaxing on my armchair, “ is anything the matter?” “ Mr Mali has been looking for you, and it is pretty obvious that it isn't for a friendly reason”, he said, sitting right opposite to me. “ Looking for me? For what?” I asked tiredly. “ I don't know, but he seemed as if he was a little bit pissed off”. “ That's his business. I totally couldn't care less. Are you done for today?” “ Um….. Yeah, why do you ask?” “ Isn't it dark enough already for you to start heading home? Please, let's start going home”, I brought out my suitcase and started packing in some files that I'd need to work on. “ Okay, but what about Mr Mali, aren't you going to go find out why he was looking for you?” He asked, standing to his feet as soon as I stood. “ No, I'm not. If I postpone seeing him till tomorrow, trust me, nobody will die”, I walked out of the office, with him following close behind. “ Oh, Dante, Mr Mali was actually…..”, Galin

When I was a child, roughly ten years or eleven. Dad had tried to drive his car into the garage, but his bumper fell to the ground, so he stepped out of the car to check what had caused it, without putting the parking gear. Mom was standing at the end of the garage, and a few seconds after dad got out of the car, the car started moving on its own, aiming towards my mother. I was seated on the passenger seat, and as I watched my mom scream in horror, something came over me, something that made me jump to the driver's seat and press hard on the brakes, saving my mom from being crushed. Till today I still can't really explain what that thing that came over me was, but as those fast kept approaching, I encountered that thing again. Not in me this time, but in Mr Churchill. He was far away from the trunk compared to Alex and I who were busy talking, even Francis was much closer to the open trunk than he was, but the speed with which he rushed and closed the trunk was somet

The person on the gurney screamed as he was rushed to the ER, his cut-off left leg dangling as a trail of blood followed him. It was pretty obvious that the leg had been completely detached from his body, and only a thread of skin was still holding the cutoff leg to the body. “ Get life support, call the anesthesiologist, and set the ER theatre right now”, Alex commanded as he followed the blood trailing gurney, and younger looking doctors that were probably interns scurried off on the feet, heeding to his command. I thought he was a resident, did residents have such power? To command interns? Mehn, Grey's Anatomy was seriously telling us a different story. His white coat had turned red with blood, obviously the blood of the patient that was just taken to the ER, and only his collar and shoulder area still had evidence that the coat had once been white. “ Alex”, I called out, walking towards him. “ Dante? What are you doing here?” He asked, surprised. Even stunned. “

Alex was the motherfucker who deflowered me. He was a deceiver, a fraudster, a con artist; at least that was I knew him for, and it wasn't because he had stolen from me or any other person that I know of. It was just because of the fact that he had deceived me into thinking that he had green eyes. He was smart, like every con artist needed to be, and eloquently tongued. His words fell out of his mouth with the appropriate frequency and fluency, and after having a small talk with him at a bar in Boston years back when we were both still students, I had accompanied him back to his place where I spent the night pleading with him to have mercy on me as he almost fucked me to death. It was painful; the sex, very painful, and my ass was sore for the next few days, but it was a soreness that I had relished. His evil eyes which I thought were green locked with mine as he kept pounding into me that night without mercy even with all my plea, enjoying the fact that his cock was makin

“ What? We? Carry her out? To where?” Francis asked, his voice a little bit too loud, making me wish that I could stretch my hand like Elastigirl in the Incredibles and deliver a deserving slap on his chin. “ Shut up, and come here right this instant”, I commanded, my voice low and stern. “ But you know that this is kidnap, right?” Mr Churchill said, still looking at me as if I was going nuts. “ It's a dead body for crying out loud”, I retorted, “ and even if yes, it is kidnap, it is a necessary evil. We have to get another forensic scientist to conduct a proper autopsy”. “ And even if the proper autopsy is conducted, we obviously can't use the evidence in court. The court will file us in contempt if we do”, he said, slowly starting to get on my nerves. “ Mr Churchill, I need you to trust me. The most important thing right now is to get this body out of here, right now. We would talk about any other thing on our way out of here”, I was looking him straight in the eyes as I
