“ Dante! Dante, get back here this instant, Dante!” Hakim screamed but alas, I was already out of his office, making my way to the elevator. The elevator was still on the last floor, and with how impatient I was, I hurried off to use the staircase, besides, my office was just right on the next floor below.

As I scurried on the staircase I brought out my phone to text Cole, and immediately I got to my floor, there he was, alighting from the elevator.

He wore a smile at first, but the smile instantly faded into a worried face as he saw how disgruntled my face was.

“ Hey, what's wrong?” He asked, coming up to me.

“ I'll tell you later. Just get settled in, and inform the others that we have an important meeting by 9:00 O clock on the dot”, I said, still trotting my way to my office.

One I got to my office, I checked the time, and it was 8:46 am, meaning that there was still fourteen minutes left before the meeting, so I decided to go over the case file.

“ Forgive me for trespassing, it's just that you looked stressed”, Cole said, his arms still wrapped around me, his body moving a little bit to and fro as if he was dancing to a song. “ Apology accepted”, I said, smiling tiredly and resting my head on his shoulders. I miss it, resting my head on his shoulders and just listening to his heart beat. He had a different heart from what most people had; at least that was what I thought. The human heart was supposed to beat for about sixty-something a minute. I can't actually remember how many times exactly, but I was sure that it was more than sixty times. His heart was beating only fifty-nine in a minute, which to me, was abnormal. I had even teased him for having a weak heart due to that. But I really loved listening to it, hearing it beat slowly and majestically. He pulled us apart and inspected my face, probably trying to figure out what was actually wrong with me. “ You sure you're okay?” He asked, his eyes filled with concern

“ Gentlemen, we have our culprit”, I said, peering into everyone's eyes in a sort of dramatic way. “ Without a doubt”, Francis echoed in, as if he hadn't concluded just yesterday that Mr Wade was guilty as charged. “ Finding out and knowing who the culprit is based on turnout of events and circumstances is one thing, and proving that that person is indeed the culprit is another”, Mr Churchill said. “ Shouldn't the autopsy result show the DNA of those who had raped and killed the victim?” Dominic asked, looking around as if seeking for morale. “ Yes, it should, but we most likely cannot use that in court, given the fact that the information was obtained through impervious means”, Mr Churchill answered the wide-eyed Dominic. “ We can't be so sure of that yet”, I said, “ if we report to the court that the state's forensic department had not provided the accurate autopsy result and that we had to use forceful means to get the autopsy result, we might avoid being filed for cont

Francis covered his mouth with his hand, giving me a “ I am so so sorry look” as I glared at him. “ Then what is it if it isn't kidnapping? “ Cole asked, seeming a little bit flustered, “ and why would you even do that? Of what use will the body of the dead girl be to us?” “ Look”, I turned to Cole, “ it isn't kidnapping, even if it was kidnapping, it was done for a good course”, I was also trying to convince myself of that. “ What good course? Every information that we can possibly need out of the autopsy has already been compiled and included in the case”, he retorted. “ Now that is where the problem lies. Do you really think that the autopsy results that were provided are viable? Go through it. Does it make any sense that no other finger prints were found on the girl's body apart from that of Mr Wade's, and even the cause of death does seem unreliable to me”, I picked up the autopsy report in my own file, “ it says here that the leading cause of death of Miss Edwina was

“ Somewhere”, I replied, care freely walking in and relaxing on my armchair, “ is anything the matter?” “ Mr Mali has been looking for you, and it is pretty obvious that it isn't for a friendly reason”, he said, sitting right opposite to me. “ Looking for me? For what?” I asked tiredly. “ I don't know, but he seemed as if he was a little bit pissed off”. “ That's his business. I totally couldn't care less. Are you done for today?” “ Um….. Yeah, why do you ask?” “ Isn't it dark enough already for you to start heading home? Please, let's start going home”, I brought out my suitcase and started packing in some files that I'd need to work on. “ Okay, but what about Mr Mali, aren't you going to go find out why he was looking for you?” He asked, standing to his feet as soon as I stood. “ No, I'm not. If I postpone seeing him till tomorrow, trust me, nobody will die”, I walked out of the office, with him following close behind. “ Oh, Dante, Mr Mali was actually…..”, Galin

When I was a child, roughly ten years or eleven. Dad had tried to drive his car into the garage, but his bumper fell to the ground, so he stepped out of the car to check what had caused it, without putting the parking gear. Mom was standing at the end of the garage, and a few seconds after dad got out of the car, the car started moving on its own, aiming towards my mother. I was seated on the passenger seat, and as I watched my mom scream in horror, something came over me, something that made me jump to the driver's seat and press hard on the brakes, saving my mom from being crushed. Till today I still can't really explain what that thing that came over me was, but as those fast kept approaching, I encountered that thing again. Not in me this time, but in Mr Churchill. He was far away from the trunk compared to Alex and I who were busy talking, even Francis was much closer to the open trunk than he was, but the speed with which he rushed and closed the trunk was somet
