Unguarded Moments

Tara pov

The hospital room felt different with just the two of us in it. For the past week, there had always been someone else present—doctors, nurses, our fathers, or pack members checking in on Hunter's recovery. But now, as evening settled over Silver Creek and visiting hours wound down, I found myself alone with Hunter for the first time since he'd regained consciousness. Hunter's dad left briefly to take care of pack business but he came back quickly. I know he probably went to send Lydia away and make sure our pack was doing okay.

Our fathers had stepped out twenty minutes ago to take a call from the Council of Alphas, leaving behind an atmosphere thick with unspoken words and careful boundaries. Hunter sat propped up against his pillows, looking stronger than he had since the attack but still pale around the edges. His shoulder was healing well, but I could see the careful way he held himself, protecting the injury from unnecessary strain.

The Next GenerationHunter pov Fifteen years had passed since Mickey Blackwood's birth, and the boy who had entered the world amid threats and political turmoil had grown into something extraordinary. At fifteen, he stood nearly as tall as me, with my steel-gray eyes and Tara's determined spirit, but there was something else about him—a presence that made even seasoned pack warriors step aside when he walked past. I watched from the training ground's observation deck as my son sparred with three opponents simultaneously, his movements fluid and precise in a way that defied his age. The other teenagers—all older and more experienced—circled Mickey like prey animals testing a predator, their wolves recognizing something in him that their human minds couldn't quite process. "He's holding back," Tara observed, joining me at the railing with two cups of coffee. "He could have ended that match five minutes ago." "I know," I replied, accepting the coffee gratefully. "He's been doing tha

New Life, New DangersHunter pov Eight months later, the sound of a baby's cry filled the medical bay of the Silverstone pack house, strong and indignant and absolutely perfect. I felt my knees go weak with relief as Dr. Sarah Chen lifted the tiny, squirming form of my son for the first time. "He's beautiful," Sarah announced with a tired but radiant smile. "Ten fingers, ten toes, healthy lungs, and definitely going to be a strong Alpha someday based on the volume of those protests." I moved to Tara's side, where she lay exhausted but glowing on the medical bed, her dark hair plastered to her forehead with sweat and her green eyes bright with tears of joy and relief. "Is he okay?" she asked breathlessly, trying to sit up to see our son better. "Is everything normal?" "Everything is perfect," Dr. Chen assured her, carefully placing the cleaned and wrapped baby in Tara's arms. "Meet your son." The moment I saw my child's face—red and wrinkled and absolutely perfect—I felt somethi

Overwhelming LoveHunter pov The wedding guests had begun to disperse after the ceremony concluded, their congratulations still ringing in the air as Tara's and I made our way back to the pack house. The autumn sun was setting, painting the sky in shades of gold and crimson that seemed to mirror the overwhelming emotions coursing through my system. We were married. We were safe from the threats that had plagued us for months. And we were going to have a baby. I felt like my mind was struggling to process the magnitude of everything that had happened in the span of a single day. This morning, I had been focused on wedding logistics and security protocols. Now, as we climbed the stairs to our private quarters, I was grappling with the reality that I was not only a husband but soon to be a father. "Are you okay?" Tara asked softly as we entered our bedroom—our bedroom now, officially. "You've been quiet since Dr. Chen confirmed the pregnancy." I turned to look at her, really look a

Life's Greatest Gift Hunter pov The adrenaline was finally beginning to fade as the immediate threats were neutralized and the wedding preparations resumed. Tara stood beside me near the altar, her torn wedding dress a testament to the morning's chaos, watching as Dr. Sarah Chen finished bandaging my dad's shoulder wound. The clearing was slowly returning to a celebratory atmosphere as guests emerged from cover, and security confirmed that no additional threats remained. "Are you ready to try this again?" the officiant asked gently, noting the way both bride and myself seemed to be gathering ourselves for what we hoped would be the final attempt at our ceremony. "More than ready," I replied, reaching for Tara's hand. "I think we've proven that nothing is going to stop us from—"I stopped mid-sentence as Tara swayed beside me, her face suddenly pale despite the cool autumn air. She blinked several times, as if trying to clear her vision, then pressed her free hand to her forehead.

The Final ShotHunter pov The gunshot echoed across the clearing like thunder, sharp and definitive in the crisp autumn air. For a moment that seemed to stretch into eternity, everyone froze—guests ducking for cover, security personnel spinning to identify new threats, Tara and I standing together in shocked stillness as we processed what had just happened again. Another damn interruption delaying our union. Then Alpha Marcus Blackwood collapsed to his knees beside the altar, his hand pressed against his shoulder where crimson was already spreading across his formal suit. "Dad!" My voice carried across the clearing as I rushed to my father's side, but my eyes were already scanning for the source of the shot that had come from somewhere in the tree line beyond the ceremony space. "Secondary shooter," Marcus gasped, his weathered face pale but his voice steady with the authority of someone accustomed to giving orders under fire. "Celeste wasn't working alone." Chaos erupted as pack

Till Death Do Us PartHunter pov The morning of ourr wedding dawned clear and bright over Silverstone territory, the autumn air crisp with the promise of change. After everything we had endured—rejection, separation, warfare, and betrayal— Tara and I had decided to move forward with our ceremony despite the ongoing threats. Some moments were too important to postpone for fear. The clearing where the pack usually held our monthly meetings had been transformed into something magical. White silk drapes hung from the ancient oaks, their fabric catching the golden sunlight and creating an ethereal backdrop for the ceremony. Rows of wooden chairs faced a natural altar formed by two intertwined trees, their branches creating a perfect arch for the couple to stand beneath. Pack members from dozens of territories had traveled to witness the union that had become a symbol of hope for supernatural couples everywhere. The original guest list had been carefully vetted after Cole's betrayal, wit
