Chapter 3

作者: Noorie
I coughed a mouthful of blood. My wolf roared for the last time before we collapsed in front of Claus. He frowned and rushed to my side.

“Elise, I’m sorry. It's my fault. I didn't mean that…” he whispered while picking me up in his arms.

“Once you get better, I’ll never hurt you again. Just hold on this time, okay?”

He took me to the pack's infirmary, stood by my bed the whole night, fed me nutritious soup in the morning, and took care of me for a whole week while I was admitted.

I thought it was because he was actually scared of losing me and felt guilty for his actions. For the first time in a while, I felt relieved. We were like before. Our daughters were happy spending time with both of their parents together.

The day I got discharged, I cooked Claus’s favourite dishes and headed towards his office to surprise him. But before I could push open his office’s door, a familiar scent filled my nostrils with anger and disdain.

It was Erica’s scent.

I creaked open the door to see what was going on inside. But the sight left me in utter shock and grief.

Erica was kissing Claus on his cheeks. But the sight that hurt me the most was seeing my daughters actually cheering for it.

“Yeah… Mommy lost! Next time we will give mommy a dare to kiss Daddy on his lips.” My eldest daughter said.

The word ‘Mommy’ made me stumble on my heels. My daughters were calling Erica ‘Mommy’.

Just then Claus’s phone rang. He put the call on speakerphone, and the voice sounded, “Alpha Claus, we have prepared lunch for you, Luna, and young mistress. Should we deliver it to you?”

Luna? His colleagues had already begun addressing Erica as their Luna. This was why I always felt their gaze was either sympathetic or arrogant whenever they faced me.

It seemed like everyone was aware of my Alpha’s betrayal but me, and they actually supported it, including my own daughters.

My daughters’ betrayal hurt me more than Claus’s did.

“I wish Elise would always stay in the pack’s infirmary so that Dad and Mommy would always stay together at our home.” My second daughter said, her voice cold and detached as she mentioned my name.

My nails dug into my palms as I discovered the reason for their happiness. It was not because we were spending time in the infirmary. It was because after they left the infirmary, they would go back home to stay with Erica.

“She is always sick and weak. I feel ashamed introducing her as my mother to my friends. Mommy is different. She is so strong and beautiful. All my friends like her.” My younger daughter said. “She better not return to our home.”

“Sshh… don't mention your mother.” Claus cut in, “Let's focus on our beautiful moment.”

That day, I realised the daughters I bled to give birth to, and the man I drained my wolf for, were actually counting days to see me dead.

Since they don't want me at their home, they would definitely not care if I don't even exist in this world.

At that time, the pack healer’s voice echoed in my head. “Luna, over the years, you have exhausted yourself. Your wolf is already weak. Another trauma or heartbreak can cost you your life. Stay happy and take a rest. You have a beautiful family to look after. Don't force yourself too much.”

Recalling my healer’s words, I let out a hollow laugh. As a healer myself, I already knew my condition. The pack healer just didn't want to scare me. But I didn't have much time left.

I just wanted to spend the remaining days of my life with my family, create good memories. But it seems like they were not willing to even give me that.

The world spun before my eyes, and with a thud, I collapsed. The sound grabbed their attention, and they rushed outside.

“Elise… Y-You were following me?” Claus screamed. He didn't care if I was okay or not. He was mad because I overheard their conversation. “Why can't you let us breathe for a while?”

After throwing out these words, he left, tugging Erica by her side. My daughters watched me lying on the floor, and they actually smirked at me.

“Mamma, you are so stupid and disgusting. You deserve this.”

After throwing out these words, they followed behind Claus and Erica, leaving me all by myself.

I let the tears soak my cheeks. It was the last time I was seeing them.

We turned to see Claus. The fearsome Alpha was gone. In his place stood a broken man, clothes tattered, his eyes bloodshot and heavily sunken. He clutched a crumpled, stained photograph of me to his chest, his knuckles white. The pack elders had stripped him of his title, and madness had clearly taken the rest of him.But as his gaze drifted from Mia to me, his entire body froze. The photograph slipped from his trembling fingers, fluttering to the dirty floor."L-Luna?" Claus whispered, his voice cracking. He rubbed his eyes violently, as if expecting the hallucination to vanish. "Elise? No... you're dead. I saw your heart stop. I felt the bond snap...""The bond didn't snap, Claus," I said, my voice dropping to a deadly, freezing calm as I stood up, shielding the three girls behind me. "I chose to sever it. I chose to leave you."A choked, pathetic sound escaped his throat. He fell to his knees, crawling toward me, his hands reaching out to grasp the hem of my coat."Elise... oh Godde

  • I Sacrificed My Wolf To Escape HIM   Chapter 8

When I finally woke up from my vegetative state, most of my past memories were erased. I could only remember things in fractions, completely forgetting which pack I belonged to or where my family was. I just remembered I was betrayed by my own blood and chose this life, sacrificing everything that linked me to them.Later, I was discovered by Lost Wolf Academy, which rescued those wolves who were facing injustice in their own pack or were left alone. The next few weeks were spent on my recovery, and after I was fit enough to make my own way, I chose to stay. I joined the academy and helped them rescue more wolves like me.One day, as I was sitting in my office, my colleagues walked in, looking furious. “How can such a mobster Dad exist in this world?”“I heard the wolves have forgotten to speak. They haven't seen or talked to anyone for months. They are starving enough to even eat dust.” “And their father, I heard, has gone mad. The elders of the pack dethrone him. He kept clinging t

Claus remained kneeling by the bedside for what felt like an eternity, his forehead pressed against the cold edge of the mattress. The frantic, weeping Alpha who had begged a dead woman for forgiveness was gone. In his place, a profound, glacial numbness settled over his soul. His wolf, shattered by grief, had completely retracted, leaving behind only the cold, calculating mind of a man who had lost everything—and therefore had absolutely nothing left to fear.Slowly, Claus stood up. He didn't look at the lifeless body on the bed. He couldn't. Instead, he turned his hollow, bloodshot eyes toward his three daughters. The girls shifted uncomfortably, finally sensing the shift in the room's atmosphere. "Daddy?" the eldest whispered, a flicker of genuine fear finally piercing through her mask of indifference. "You're scaring us.""Good," Claus said, his voice a flat, emotionless rasp. "You should be."***He didn't take them back to the packhouse. He led them down into the subterranean l

"The healer! Where is the healer?!" Claus roared, the walls of the sanctuary trembling."Claus, listen to me," Erica pleaded, stepping forward and reaching for his arm. "She was already like this when I walked in! You know how weak she was. Her wolf was already dying from the severed bond. I didn't touch her! Why would you think I would hurt her?"Claus whipped his head around. His eyes were completely pitch-black, his wolf violently thrashing against the surface, demanding blood. The sheer pressure of his aura dropped Erica to her knees, her breath catching in her throat."Do not lie to me!" he snarled, a low, guttural vibration that felt like a death sentence. "I smelled the bitter tang of Wolf’s Bane the second I crossed the threshold. And it’s on you, Erica.""No! It's not true! You're just stressed, you're imagining things—""Get out," Claus whispered. The quietness of his voice was infinitely more terrifying than his roar. "Get out before I forget what you used to mean to me and

He fell to the floor of his master bedroom, clawing at his chest, his wolf screaming a deafening, mournful howl inside his mind.“She’s gone! You idiot, you killed her! She’s dead!”"Shut up!" Claus roared aloud, his voice shaking the heavy oak walls of the packhouse. "She’s not dead. Elise is too stubborn to die."But the chilling emptiness in his chest told a different story.Claus didn't wait for dawn. Brushing past a confused and sleep-deprived Erica, he shifted into his massive midnight-black wolf and tore into the woods. He ran toward Elise’s private infirmary, his heart hammering against his ribs like a trapped bird. When he kicked the door open, the sight that greeted him sent a spike of cold dread down his spine. The infirmary was stripped bare. The medical equipment was unplugged, and Elder Emily’s bed was neatly made, devoid of life. On the counter sat a small piece of parchment. The payment for the white moon flower has been settled. I owe you nothing."No, no, no..." Cla

  • I Sacrificed My Wolf To Escape HIM   Chapter 4

I had barely managed to stand up when my mind flared with the desperate call of the apprentice of my private infirmary. “Elise, Elder Emily is critical. If we don't give her the rare herb you discovered the other day that could heal her, we might lose her soon. Please hurry up.”Elder Emily was my mentor, who had adopted me sixteen years ago and taught me her skills and techniques. I could not disappoint her when she needed me the most. She was the last person on the planet I saw as my family.Disregarding my own frail, dying condition, I had forced myself to push through the physical weakness and drag my collapsing body to the pack house again. But the moment I stepped inside, I discovered that Erica—who had supposedly been given a temporary leave from the pack council—was back. Not just that, she had been sitting on the throne of Pack’s Luna, next to Claus. A place that should have rightfully been mine. I recalled what Claus told me years ago. “Love, you are too weak to handle Pac
