I could still feel him on me.

Not just his hands... him.

All of him.

The weight of his body behind mine, the way his breath coasted down the back of my neck. Every nerve in me felt hijacked, overstimulated, and buzzing.

I didn’t even know what I was saying. What I was agreeing to. My brain was a loop of: Stay calm. Stay soft. Stay sweet.

I thought if I could just keep my voice light and my smile gentle, I wouldn’t end up dead in this stupid, dark, freezing wine cellar. Because that’s what it felt like... like one wrong word and this stranger would snap me in half.

He asked me if I was okay with his hands on my body, as if I had the room to say no. I was already backed against a table, his chest pressing into my spine like some kind of wall. My wrists still tingled from the grip of him, from the rope and from the way he held me like he’d been dreaming about it for weeks.

I nodded. I said “yeah” or “okay” or something that sounded like consent but wh

Hey, everyone! 💫 I originally planned for this book to be fast-paced... but you know how it goes, I swear I wasn’t aiming for a slow burn, but here we are. Sigh. 😅 Still, I hope you’re loving every moment of the ride. That being said, who's excited for the upcoming event?! 👀 I can't wait to hear your thoughts, so don’t be shy, drop a comment and tell me everything! 💬 Love you all so much. XOXO 💋

Excellent writing, JD! Loved how Adriano gently touched her, igniting a fire in her for him. Can’t wait to see how the evening unfolds with her at his side through the event. Getting both of their POV’s would be awesome since this is an important date.

I love that Vincenzo gave him positive advice to take Maddie. The slow burn works for someone like Maddie, fast isn’t her. I wouldn’t mind reading how Dante is going to steal Victoria back.

Adriano ⫘☠︎︎⫘The moment I saw the blood on Alessia’s hands, something in me snapped with rage. That sharp kind of rage that rolls up your spine and sinks its teeth into the back of your skull.Alessia was supposed to talk to Rino Lombardi.Talk, just words, it was controlled, secured and diplomatic. One-on-one. It was supposed to be clean before we even considered signing off on a truce. So if that bastard had touched her, If he’d laid a single fucking finger on her and she’d put a knife in him for it?Good fucking riddance. I’d make sure his body was dumped somewhere it’d never be found, not in a river, not in a grave, not even ash in the wind.I stepped into the room, “Alessia. What happened?”She turned slowly, she seemed too calm for someone with someone else’s blood drying on her skin. Her eyes dropped to her hand, then lifted back to mine.“It’s not mine,” her voice was low. I gave a short nod, jaw ticking, “Yeah. I can see that,” I stepped closer, “But if you killed him? Do

Madeleine 𓎢𓎠𑄻𑄾𓎠𓎡Two weeks. That’s all it took for my world to flip upside down, inside out, and somehow land perfectly in place. Two weeks and now I was standing behind these ridiculously tall church doors, wearing a dress I never thought I’d be brave enough to put on, about to marry the man who walked into my life like a hurricane and somehow became my calm.My heart was pounding, no, it was slamming against my ribs like it wanted out. My heart wanted to sprint down the aisle before I even moved.I held the bouquet tighter, my fingers trembling around the stems. The flowers smelled sweet, kind of like sugar and spring, and I couldn’t stop staring at them. Because if I looked straight ahead, I’d cry. And if I looked up at my mom and dad, both standing beside me... my mom already glassy-eyed, my dad chewing the inside of his cheek like he was holding something back, I knew I’d lose it completely.I blinked fast, trying to keep the tears from messing up all the makeup the stylis

  • I Saved the Mafia Boss—Now I'm His Obsession.    Chapter 94 - Settle it the old-fashioned way.

Madeleine 𓎢𓎠𑄻𑄾𓎠𓎡 If someone had told sixteen-year-old me back when I was sneaking into the U.S. with my heart in my throat and one suitcase to my name that one day I’d be wedding dress shopping in a luxury Chicago bridal atelier, I would’ve laughed. Yet here I was. Standing in a room, surrounded by crystal chandeliers, full-length gold mirrors, and wedding dresses that looked like they belonged behind glass at a museum. And in the middle of it all? My people. Claire and Alessia sat like they were the only two that belonged here, both in silk trench coats and impossibly high heels, sipping tiny espressos with the kind of grace that made even the sales associates stand straighter. Why do I feel like they’re secretly planning to baptize me into the Church of High Fashion the second I sign that marriage certificate? My mom and Tia Pati, on the other hand, were already elbow-deep in a rack labeled “Sample Clearance,” whispering to each other in Portuguese. I sat on a tuf

Madeleine 𓎢𓎠𑄻𑄾𓎠𓎡 The bakery was tucked into a quiet little corner of the city, all soft pastels and exposed brick walls, with warm lighting and the scent of vanilla hanging in the air. The table they set up for us was tiny and round, with lace-edged napkins and silver forks that looked too delicate to be real. Adriano stood behind me, not next to me, but behind me. He couldn’t trust a single chair to keep him from touching me for longer than ten seconds. His arms were wrapped low around my waist, chest pressed to my back. Sometimes his chin rested on the top of my head, other times on my shoulder, especially when he leaned in to whisper something that made my cheeks flush and my heart tumble. “Too fancy for you?” he murmured near my ear, his chin resting lightly on my shoulder. “I feel like I should’ve worn gloves and a bonnet,” I whispered back. He let out a laugh, “You look perfect. I’d eat you instead of the cake, but that would probably get us kicked out.”

  • I Saved the Mafia Boss—Now I'm His Obsession.    Chapter 92 - Wasn’t an accident.

Madeleine 𓎢𓎠𑄻𑄾𓎠𓎡 I couldn’t believe it. I was getting married. Married. I was sprawled in the middle of the living room. Adriano had lent an entire small estate for my family to stay in. I was wearing an oversized hoodie and pajama shorts. My left hand was stretched out in front of me like I was directing air traffic, just so everyone could get a proper look at the ring. Not a ring. The ring. Big, beautiful and sparkling. “Oh meu Deus,” my mother whispered for the fourteenth time, her fingers hovering just above my hand like she was scared to touch it and accidentally summon a car alarm. “Madeleine Júlia, this diamond is the size of a frango assado!” “It’s brighter than your future,” sofi said flatly, recording it for her I*******m story. “You might dislocate your shoulder if you keep holding it up like that,” Uncle Jorginho added with a laugh. My dad hadn’t spoken in three full minutes. He just kept staring at the ring like it was going to ask him for rent money.

  • I Saved the Mafia Boss—Now I'm His Obsession.    Chapter 91 - Under the stars.

Madeleine 𓎢𓎠𑄻𑄾𓎠𓎡 The auditorium was loud with excitement, the kind that made your stomach feel like it was full of butterflies with coffee addictions. I sat in the second row, cap bobby-pinned to my head, gown a little wrinkled no matter how many times I’d tried to smooth it out. I could smell someone’s floral perfume in the row ahead of me, and underneath that, the faint chemical tang of veterinary antiseptic still clinging to my fingers no matter how many times I washed my hands. I kept twisting my class ring around my thumb. Clockwise. Counter-clockwise. My name was in the program. My name. Madeleine Cordeiro. I stared at it for a long time. It looked so real there, so official. It was the proof I’d actually made it. We were graduating. I was graduating. I was going to be a veterinary technician. I could poke cats in the butt with thermometers and do blood draws and explain post-op instructions. My smile kept twitching around the edges. I was proud, really, I was, but I
