CHAPTER 3

Ethan didn't let me finish when he picked up his coat again and left the house. This time,he spent one week outside before he remembered to come home.

For the whole week, Luna's provocative behaviour intensified, and she started sending me taunting messages. "So Eva, what if you have been with him for seven years? Immediately I came back, he left your side and rushed to me."

"Do you think he still loves you ?Don't fool yourself. He's s staying with you out of gratitude."

"What if he knows I left him for another man? He said he understands and has made enough money to take care of me for a lifetime, so I advise you to break up with him before he dumps your sorry ass."

I just glance at them and continue with what I was doing at that moment.

The day Ethan came back after staying out with Luna for a whole week, he brought back a lunch pack.

"Luna bought this for you. She said she feels sorry for you, so she made me bring this back for you, eat it while it's still hot ,don't waste her effort. he said as he placed the container on the table beside me.

I opened the container to see what Luna gave her lover to bring back for me. It was a leftover from their dinner that evening , Luna posted a video of it on her f******k and tagged me.

When I opened it, I looked at Ethan and back at the container of leftover food, and I asked him,"You brought back leftover from your dinner with Luna for me to eat? Ethan, has it come to this?."

He stammered out an explanation, "Eva, Luna didn't want to waste the food, so she asked me to bring it back for you , if you don't want it, just throw it away."

I left him standing there, went to the bedroom to change, when I came out he was on his phone laughing, it must be Luna . I said to myself as I made to walk past him.

"Eva, where are you going? It's late."

"To the hospital, I'm performing surgery tonight. " I replied without turning to look at him.

"Let me drive you."

"No need, I've booked a ride."

"Cancel it. I will drive you."

"Ethan, my ride is already waiting for me outside. You just got back. Why not go to bed early." I said, looking at him for the first time since coming out from the bedroom.

"Okay, if you are sure. I will see you when you come back tomorrow."

"I won't be coming back tomorrow."

"Eva, are you trying to get back at me because I stayed out for a week? If you had behaved well and not targeted Luna, would I have been too angry to leave the house."

"Don't overwork yourself, Ethan ,I have three surgeries tomorrow, and they are short paced, I won't have time to come back before going back again. It will be stressful and a waste of time. i will just sleep in one of the beds in the hospital and come back home when I'm done."

"Aaah, okay, what time will your last surgery last, i will come pick you up. "

"Eight p.m." I said, knowing he won't come.

"Since he got back together with Luna , he stopped allowing me to enter his car. when I beg him for a ride, he will tell me his's busy, so I stopped begging him .

"I will be there when you are ready. give me a call."

"Okay, goodnight." I told him as I closed the door.

The next day, I called him immediately I finished my last surgery , and his phone rang more than three times, but no one picked up ,I decided to arrange my things and called back, by the time I called him back, his phone was turned off, I knew then that he must be with Luna.

I booked a ride and went back on my own, I never had placed hope in him picking me up anyway, so I wasn't disappointed .

When I got back, I went straight to the bathroom to take a bath, then prepared a bowl of noodles for myself

After eating, I decided to play with my phone to unwind. It was at that moment that Luna's messages started popping in one after another .Ethan, cooking for her. Ethan on her bed. shirtless!.

After looking at them,I placed my phone on the nightstand and went to sleep .

The next day, when I woke up, Ethan's side of the bed was empty, I guessed he hadn't come back last night, I prepared and left for the hospital.

In the afternoon, Ethan came to the hospital to pick me up,I didn't want to go with him, but because I didn't want to cause a scene in my place of work, I compromised and followed him outside.

When we got to where his car was parked, Luna was sitting at the front passenger seat, Ethan said as a way of explaining," Luna just wants to grap a meal with us, don't misunderstand. "
