Chapter 4

ผู้เขียน: Genevieve
Bianca stumbled back home in a daze, her mind still reeling.

She had barely stepped through the door when her phone buzzed again with a new message from Lucy. This time, it was a video—one she could barely stand to watch.

She could hear Lucy's taunting voice. "On your knees. I like it from behind."

The rustle of clothing and the unmistakable sounds of bodies entwined filled the audio, echoing in Bianca's ears and making her stomach churn.

She gripped her phone so tightly that her knuckles went white, and her face drained of color.

Moments later, a new message arrived. "The woman he doesn't love is always the other woman. Stop fooling yourself and get lost."

The wave of disgust and heartbreak that washed over Bianca was overwhelming, threatening to suffocate her.

She pressed a hand to the wall, steadying herself as she fought the urge to throw up. Tears of hurt and fury welled up and spilled over, burning tracks down her cheeks.

After a while, she wiped her tears away. With cold determination in her eyes, she stared at the phone as messages kept flashing across the screen.

At last, she tossed the phone aside, like she was letting go of her last shred of hope. There was nothing left to hold her here.

From this moment on, whatever ties she had to Sebastian and Christian were cut, as if their paths had split for good and they were nothing but strangers from now on.

That night, Bianca slept deeply and undisturbed.

When morning came, she got up early and began packing every single gift Sebastian and Christian had ever given her over the last ten years. She boxed everything up and left it all at the front door.

She had already arranged for a resale company to pick up the items, and everything would be sold, with the proceeds going to charity.

Just as she finished, Sebastian and Christian, who hadn't come home the night before, finally pulled up outside.

As soon as they stepped out of the car, they spotted the boxes stacked by the door and immediately recognized them as their old gifts to Bianca.

Christian, puzzled and a little anxious, reached out and held her hand. "Mommy, what's going on? Why are you throwing all this away?"

Bianca barely glanced at him, her expression unreadable and cool. "I'm donating it. Other people need these things more than I do."

Sebastian, picking up on her icy mood, quickly guessed she must be upset about him taking Christian out all night without saying a word.

Trying to smooth things over, he pulled her into a hug, softening his voice as he tried to coax her. "Come on, honey, I'm sorry. Christian woke up in the middle of the night wanting to see a movie, so I took him out. I just didn't want to disturb you. You're not really upset about that, are you?"

If it were before, his pleading might have melted her heart. But now, it left her cold as stone. Bianca pushed him away without hesitation, her face set and unmoved.

But then, Sebastian grabbed her wrist and pulled out a small velvet box from his pocket. He unclasped a sparkling diamond bracelet and fastened it around her wrist.

"Here, take this as a peace offering. Please don't be upset with me," he pleaded, his gaze locked on hers.

In the past, a gesture like that would have brought Bianca to tears. But now, she felt nothing. Her expression stayed cold and indifferent.

Then, she heard Christian's inner thoughts. "It's a good thing the saleswoman gave that bracelet for free when Daddy bought Lucy's gift. Luckily, he didn't throw it away."

So, it was nothing more than a leftover freebie.

A small, bitter laugh escaped Bianca as she yanked her hand free, the bracelet slipping off and falling to the floor with a sharp little clink.

She straightened, looking at both of them with clear, cold eyes. "I don't want it. Take it back."

Turning on her heel, she walked back to her room, leaving both of them standing in the entryway, completely at a loss.

Christian, worried and uncertain, turned to Sebastian and asked, "Daddy, what's wrong with Mommy? Is she mad at us? Do you think she found out about Lucy?"

Sebastian's expression darkened, his face clouded with a mix of emotions as he watched Bianca walk away.

Trying to convince both himself and Christian, he said gently, "No, there's no way she knows. Her birthday is coming up, so we'll surprise her and make her happy, alright?"

Christian nodded in agreement.

In the past six months, Bianca was constantly by Melanie's side, sharing her innermost thoughts and feelings. She would tenderly wipe Melanie's face every morning, dedicating herself to her care with utmost diligence and caution. On the other hand, Sebastian and Christian concocted every flimsy excuse imaginable to appear at Bianca's doorstep. Sebastian, in a desperate bid for Bianca's forgiveness, even spent an entire day in the biting cold of December, kneeling in the snow, barely surviving the cold.Bianca, however, simply looked on with a chilling indifference.Meanwhile, Christian appeared each day with a different bouquet of flowers for Bianca, having even taught himself how to bake cakes. Her doorstep was perpetually adorned with floral arrangements and cakes. Her neighbors, who walked by her doorstep, would cast envious glances at the mountain of flowers and cakes at her door. She would simply hand out the cakes and flowers on these occasions, showing no personal interest i

Bianca enjoyed a few days of peace, only for Christian and Sebastian to arrive at her doorstep early in the following morning. She chose to ignore the insistent knocking, only to see them waving from downstairs on her balcony. She helplessly hurried downstairs and confronted them with an icy gaze. "What on earth do you two want from me?"Sebastian's eyes softened as he looked intently at Bianca, his voice taking on a coaxing tone. "Why don't we go see the fireworks as a family of three, Bianca? Do you remember the promise we made with Chris last year—that we'd take him to see the fireworks every year?" Christian tugged at Bianca's hand, swinging it back and forth as he pleaded, "Can you please come with me this once? I miss you so much, Mommy!"Bianca heard Christian's inner voice echoing in her mind. "Daddy said that seeing the fireworks will make Mommy remember everything we shared, and then she won't be so cold toward us anymore." Bianca simply found it amusing that they act

In the following two weeks, Sebastian and Christian appeared at Bianca's house every single day—right on schedule—and wouldn't budge no matter how much she tried to get rid of them.Christian, day after day, mimicked grown-ups, presenting Bianca with a fresh assortment of small gifts, all of which she promptly tossed into the bin. Sebastian, for his part, faithfully brought three meals a day, and the pair even squabbled over who got to dispose of Bianca's rubbish bags left outside the door.…Upon watching Sebastian and Christian's unvarying daily routine, Lucy's heart was green with envy over Sebastian's complete devotion to Bianca. She became convinced that Bianca had feigned her demise specifically to rekindle Sebastian's love. That day, a heavy, insistent knocking rattled the door. Bianca, thoroughly exasperated, yanked it open. She kept her head down and eyes closed, snapping, "What is it going to take for you to finally leave me alone, Sebastian?"Lucy let out a cold snort,

It was then that the red light above the operating room's doors dimmed, and the doors swung open.Bianca rushed forward, her gaze pleading as she asked Brad Young, the doctor, "How is Melanie doing, Dr. Young?"Upon receiving Brad's reassuring nod, Bianca breathed a sigh of relief. She was just about to move to follow Melanie's bed out when Sebastian suddenly reached out and firmly grabbed her wrist. He stared intently at Bianca, his eyes brimming with remorse and self-blame as he exclaimed, "I don't care if your love for me was genuine or not, Bianca! I love you, and that's all that matters! You're the only one I've ever loved, Bianca!"Bianca scoffed inwardly, finding it utterly ironic how Sebastian—that cheating ex-husband of hers—was claiming that she had always been the one he loved. She forcefully pulled her hand from Sebastian's grasp, abandoning her usual composure as she pointed at Lucy, stating coldly, "It's her you love, not me."Sebastian's eyes widened in astonishmen

Bianca, Sebastian, and Lucy were facing each other when suddenly, the ventilator in the warehouse started blaring, indicating Melanie's weakening breaths.Bianca frantically broke free from Sebastian's grasp, bolting for Melanie's hospital bed while frantically trying to make a call. She realized that Melanie couldn't wait for an ambulance, so she looked helplessly toward Sebastian and yelled, "Give me the car keys now, Sebastian!"Upon hearing Bianca utter his name, Sebastian became even more certain that the person before him was Bianca, his wife.He couldn't help but feel a wave of elation wash over him as he rushed toward Bianca, wanting to seek confirmation. He then exclaimed with a trembling voice, "You're really Bianca! I-I knew you were still alive!"Bianca shoved him aside in frustration, yelling, "Cut the chatter! Give me the car keys!"She then, with Sebastian's help, got Melanie settled in the car before rushing her to the hospital.…Bianca paced restlessly outside

It was the following morning when Bianca strolled into the hospital ward while humming a tune, her eyes shining brightly as she murmured, "I've come to visit you, Melanie."She lifted her gaze as she walked to the hospital bed, only to find it vacant. She couldn't help but widen her eyes in disbelief as she tore back the covers. She immediately burst into tears, her legs giving out beneath her as she collapsed to the ground. She struggled to compose herself, muttering, "P-Professor Hart must have taken Melanie for an examination. It must be Professor Hart!"Thus, with that thought in mind, she immediately got up and barreled wildly into Cameron's office. Those doctors and nurses, who were in the hallway, muttered and exchanged disdainful looks. "Who is that? Why is she sprinting through the hospital like a maniac?"Cameron glanced toward the hallway outside his office, his gaze settling on Bianca's face. Her eyes were bloodshot, obviously from crying, and the peculiar blend of agi
