Chapter 3

Author: Green Fur
“I have nothing to lose, anyway. All of you have forced me to a dead-end, and I won’t lose anything if any one of you gets hurt.”

I toyed with the blade absent-mindedly.

Then, I swept my gaze across the Andersons and Nina.

It was dead silent.

Everyone was terrified by my rage.

Lily screamed and shielded Dylan.

“What… What are you trying to do? Are you going to kill someone?”

Peter was shaking with anger.

“Crazy… You’ve really gone crazy! I’m going to send you to a mental asylum!”

“Mental asylum?” I sneered.

“That sounds like a great place. But before I go, let’s make this clear.”

I pointed at the stack of fake evidence on Nina’s desk with my blade.

“Ms. Lee, you claimed that I was copying Dylan’s answers. So the evidence must show that my answers are exactly the same as his, right?”

Nina gulped and pretended to put up a strong front.

“That’s right! Isn’t that enough?”

“In that case, humor me. The examination papers are still being kept at the education ministry. How would you know what my answers are?

“Do you have laser vision? Or…”

I paused and stared at them in fury.

“Did you conspire with Dylan to create the fake cheat sheets and frame me?”

Nina paled. Her eyes flickered.

“Nonsense! I found these in your desk drawer!”

“Desk?” I snorted.

“A day before the examination, the classroom was already cleared out. It had to be repurposed as an examination hall. No one was allowed to bring any papers in.

“Did the cheat sheets appear out of thin air?

“Besides, since you said I was copying Dylan’s answers, that would lean on the fact that… Dylan had to be writing all the right answers.”

Dylan’s heart skipped a beat. He looked uncomfortable.

He pretended to be calm as he asked with a dark expression.

“Brooklyn, what are you implying?

“Everyone knows how well I usually score. I also did well in this examination…”

“Is that so?”

I tossed the blade aside and took out my phone.

“Since you’re so certain that I cheated, then let’s request that our examination papers be marked first.

“I’m also very curious about the two identical papers. What would they look like?”

“Marked? Where do you have the right to make such demands?” Peter roared.

“We shouldn’t be embarrassing ourselves further! Don’t you feel this is humiliating enough?

“As long as you admit your mistake, drop out, and leave the country, I can still cover this up from the local news.

“But if you dare to blow this up, I’ll make sure your life is a living hell in this city!”

It was the same threat again.

They had blackmailed me in order to protect Dylan’s reputation.

Unfortunately for them, I was no longer an easy target to be bullied.

“Too late for that. I’ve already made a police report and informed the media.”

I shook my phone to show them the livestream that I had started.

“Everyone, did you manage to see that? This is the wealthiest family in this city, the Anderson family.

“The actual son has been framed and accused of cheating. His biological parents are forcing him into a dead-end without looking into the matter. This is going to be an interesting case, everyone, come watch it!”

More and more people started tuning into the livestream.

The comments started coming in.

[Oh my God! This is so dramatic!]

[These parents are so unfair! They’re not even looking into the papers?]

[I love this son of theirs! He’s so brave!]

[The adopted son looks like a poser. I bet he’s rotten.]

When he saw that, Peter almost fainted from anger. He rushed forward and wanted to snatch my phone.

“Turn this off! Turn this off!”

I evaded him and continued talking to the camera.

“Ms. Lee, since you’re so confident that I cheated, do you dare recount how I cheated in front of the entire internet?”

Nina had no choice but to act in front of a live audience.

Facing the camera, she forced herself to lie.

“If you were honest about this, you wouldn’t be afraid of this!

“Brooklyn has always scored badly, and Dylan’s a top student. Do we even need to look into this any further?

“Their papers were completely identical. Of course, the poorer student would always copy the better one!”

Dylan still kept up his generous act. He sighed at the camera.

“Don’t blame Brooklyn, everyone. He just made a mistake… I don’t blame him.”

At the same time, there was a commotion outside the office.

A few uniformed policemen and a few middle-aged men with emblems on their shirts walked in.

The leading middle-aged man, John Smith, looked serious and regal.

“I’m the examination inspection team leader of the education ministry.

“I’ve received a report that someone’s been suspected of cheating and setting up another student as the scapegoat.

“Who’s Brooklyn Anderson?”

Peter’s face immediately became pale as his lips trembled. He could not say a word. It was because I had revealed his true, deepest, darkest secrets. I turned around and faced the media. I said resolutely, “I would like to take this opportunity and make a statement. “I no longer have anything to do with the Anderson family. “My achievements are a result of the nation’s support and my professor’s teachings. It’s not because of the Anderson family. “As for Anderson Corporation’s shares…” I glanced at Peter mockingly. “You can keep it as your retirement fund. However, I know that you’re going to go bankrupt anytime soon.”After I said that, I no longer looked at them as I left. “Brooklyn! Don’t go! You can’t be this cruel!“I’m your father! The heavens will punish you for this!” I heard Peter’s hopeless roars, but the security guards promptly escorted him out. Just as they reached the exit, a crazy figure rushed in. It was Dylan. He was dressed in rags. He was bran

They looked for me at the university and the labs. They even tried to bribe the security guard. However, the Havermouth University of Technology had very strict security. They were particularly staunch against business persons like them.A month later, the junior program held an open ceremony. The school highly regarded this event as everyone in this program was a top talent from all across the country. They held the event at the fanciest meeting center in the city. Plenty of media and business people attended. Peter exhausted all his connections and finally got two lower-ranked tickets. As I stood on the stage with Professor Lennon, I saw Peter and Lily standing at the far end of the crowd. Within a short month, Peter appeared as though he had aged ten years. His hair had gone gray, and his back was bent. Lily did not look like a rich socialite. She was wearing off-season clothes and her eyes were blurry. After the event ended, they tried to squeeze through the cr

In the past, to placate the Anderson family, I hid all my talents from them. I even gave Dylan credit for all my research to make him seem like a genius. I no longer wanted to do that. Before the examinations, I sent my groundbreaking thesis to Professor Lennon. I handed in blank papers to prove the Anderson family wrong and also to cut ties with my past. “Alright, I’ll go with you,” I said indifferently. Dylan’s legs were shaking as he glared at me. His eyes were filled with desperation and jealousy. He could not figure it out for the life of him. I was just a country bumpkin. How could I possibly be the genius that Professor Lennon wanted? When Peter heard that I was about to leave, he immediately came to his senses. He immediately put on a loving facade and rushed forward to grab my hand. “Brooklyn, I’ve always known you’ll do great things in life!“It’s all just a misunderstanding earlier! That rascal, Dylan, lied to us!“You’re the pride and joy of the Ande

The papers scattered and fell onto the floor. Everyone reached out to retrieve the papers. When they read the content, they could not hold back their gasps. “Brooklyn’s actually the champion of the district Mathematics Olympiad!”“He even won first place for the nationwide physics competition! That’s incredible…” “Oh my God! He’s the top scorer of the last mid-term examination!”…Peter was at a loss for words. Lily’s face turned pale as she subconsciously murmured. “How is that possible? He’s just a country-bumpkin. How is he smart…”Finally, John stood forward and announced the final verdict. “Nina, as a teacher, you forged evidence to frame your own student. You’re a horrible presence in the education industry!“Officers, we have uncovered a horrifying amount of corruption. This matter requires serious investigation!” Nina lost it. She fell onto her knees and screamed as she pointed at Dylan. “It’s not me! This was none of my business!“It’s Dylan! He said as

Then, it was my math papers. It was empty. English papers. Empty. Science papers. Empty. For all four examinations, I handed in blank papers. I had a total score of zero. The livestream audience riled up. [This is insane! How did he dare to hand in blank papers for such an important examination? I’m amazed!][So this is the alleged cheating… What exactly did he copy?][Wait a minute… If he’s handing in blank papers, how did Ms. Lee derive that there are two of the same papers?][This is terrifying! They tried to set him up!]…Peter and Lily were dumbfounded by what was happening before them. Nina was completely frozen. Her lips were trembling. “This is… impossible… This is impossible…”Blood completely drained out of Dylan’s face. He felt cold all over. Why would it be blank? He clearly saw me writing vigorously on the examination papers! I walked toward the stage and stared at everyone. They were dead silent. Then, I smiled mockingly. “Ms. Lee, is t

I raised my hand with an indifferent expression. “I am.”Dylan and Nina’s faces immediately became pale when they saw the employees of the education ministry. Initially, they had wanted to get rid of me quietly in school. Instead, the ministry had been alerted!Nina’s legs were trembling as she was drenched in cold sweat. However, she recalled how poor my results usually were. Even if they reviewed my examination papers, it was highly likely that I would score zero or a low score. As long as she insisted that I had the cheat sheets, she would be able to worm her way out of the situation. Hence, Nina pointed at me and yelled, “Sir! It’s him!“Not only did he cheat, he’s also disrupting the school’s discipline! I have evidence that his desk drawer was full of cheat sheets!”John peered at her and said coldly, “We’ll verify the evidence.“But right now, we’re going to retrieve the scanned copies of the original examination papers.“To ensure fairness, we’ll do a live video
