Chapter 4

Author: Barbecue Ribs
When Blair saw me laughing, she was furious. She roared, “What are you laughing at, homewrecker?

“I’m going to make this your last laugh ever!”

My voice was very soft. I sounded cold as I stared at her.

“You’re going to be disfigured soon.”

Upon hearing that, Blair widened her eyes in shock.

Then, her expression darkened.

“You witch, how dare you curse me?

“I won’t let you off the hook!”

She rolled her sleeves up and walked toward me.

However, she suddenly fell onto the ground in the next second.

“Ah!” She screamed and covered her face tightly with her hand.

“Blair, your face!”

Her friends could not help but scream.

Blair took out her pocket mirror, and her scream became louder.

She pressed her hand against her bleeding cheek and glared viciously at me.

I looked at the blade that suddenly appeared on the ground and smirked.

Blair was furious. She launched herself at me. “How dare you curse me, jinx?

“Since you like cursing people, I will mute you forever!”

I dug my fingernails into my palm and said with a hoarse voice, “Do you dare to do that?”

She cocked an eyebrow. “How would I not? I’m the future Mrs. Brown. You’re just a powerless country bumpkin. Why wouldn’t I dare to do anything to you?”

She shot a look at her friends.

I was immediately subdued.

She took out two needles from her bag that were as long as a forearm and walked toward me.

“Today, I’m going to serve justice by shutting you up.”

“Even if you pierce these through my throat, I would still recover.”

After I said that, a hint of gold spark glinted in my eyes.

However, it disappeared very quickly, so no one saw it.

Blair was very quick. She aimed the needle at my throat and pierced it through.

My body was shaking from the pain, but I could not make a sound.

Seeing that I was struggling, Blair was very smug.

“This is what you deserve.”

Tears kept streaming down my cheeks, and I broke into a cold sweat from the pain in my throat.

My vision became spotty, and I felt like I could not hold on any longer.

Nancy ran toward Blair.

“Ms. Hendrick, this is how you teach homewreckers a lesson.

“In the past, we would have stoned such shameless women.”

I bit my tongue. The metallic taste of blood kept me calm.

Blair patted the dust from her palms as she cocked her brow.

“That’s right. She’s a dirty woman, so she should be stoned. Let’s bring some stones over.”

She peered down at me like she was looking at trash. Her eyes were filled with disgust.

“Take her away.”

After she said that, someone voiced up from behind her.

“Who are you? What are you doing at my place?

“Luna!” I heard John’s voice calling out.

When they came to me, I was still fast asleep. The next morning when I woke up, I saw John sitting in a wheelchair. He no longer looked powerful as the first time I saw him. Victor had bags under his eyes. He looked as though he had aged ten years. Blair stood beside them. When they saw me, John immediately exclaimed, “Luna, you’re finally willing to see us.” John kicked Blair’s back fiercely. “Luna, this witch fooled us all.“I’ll hand her to you. You can do whatever you want to her.“Please save us, alright?” He was looking at me like I was their last hope. Victor also begged me. He kept slapping himself. “Luna, please, I know I was wrong. I have really learned from my mistake.“It’s all my fault. Please, save Brown Corporation.” He mustered a lot of strength as he slapped himself. Soon, his cheeks started bleeding. I shrugged helplessly. “John, I really can’t help you. “My prediction only comes true once a year. Last time, she almost ruined my throat.

I was eating at home when my phone rang again. It was an unknown phone call. I had just answered when I heard Victor’s arrogant voice. “I’m about to reach your house soon. You should come out and wait for me.” I cocked an eyebrow. “What are you doing here?”“Darn it, woman. Don’t play hard to get. I’m telling you, I’m personally here to invite you over. This is considered very courteous of me.” I grimaced. “I guess I should be honored.” However, he could not sense my sarcasm. He snorted. “I’m the heir of the Brown family, and I’ll be the leader one day.“I don’t believe in you having superpowers, so you better act right. “Maybe one day when I inherit Brown Corporation, I’ll hire you as our nanny.” I did not want to waste my time on him. “Victor, I bet you’re on the way here.”“How did you know?”I said, “Victor, you have to be careful. Soon, you’ll be unlucky.” After I said that, I immediately hung up. At night, my father returned with a bright smile on hi

I followed my father home. After a while, my phone started ringing. It was a phone call from Blair. I answered her call expressionlessly. “I’ve told you before, don’t fight against me.“Oh, I’ve forgotten that you can’t speak anymore. What a waste of an oracle’s mouth.” She sounded gleeful thinking about my misfortune. I smirked. “Well, too bad, I didn’t turn into a mute.” Blair was flustered when she heard my voice. “How are you able to speak?”I smiled. “Of course it’s because of the doctors. They managed to save my voice.“Blair, I’ll let you choose. Would you like some bad luck, or would you like to die?”I teased her like a cat torturing a mouse. Her voice was sharp. “Luna, how dare you curse me? I won’t forgive you!”I chuckled. “You treated me so poorly earlier. Do you think you could possibly scare me any further?” I spoke slowly. It was more fun to tease her slowly. Otherwise, it would be boring. “I don’t believe you.“You’re not an oracle. They

When I woke up again, I smelled antiseptic. I opened my eyes and saw my father’s face close by. When he saw that I was awake, he quickly called the doctor over. The doctor examined me thoroughly before leaving. Tears streamed down my cheeks uncontrollably when I saw my father. My father was working overseas all along, and he had not been back for a long time. If he had not been away, I would not have been bullied like that. My father hugged me pitifully. “Luna, it’s my fault. Now that I’m back, I’ll definitely take care of those people who hurt you.” I grabbed my father’s hand. My throat hurt but I could still talk. “How are they?” My father quickly poured me a glass of water. “It’s odd. Your throat was badly injured, and it suddenly recovered again.” I did not speak. My father took out his phone. “Have a look.” On the phone, there was a familiar face on the livestream. “After I took you away, they started a livestream and blamed everything on you.” In t

Blair ground her teeth as she teared up. She looked over at me and held Victor’s hand. “Victor, she can’t say anything anymore.” Victor widened his eyes in shock. Then, he slapped her again. “What are you talking about? Do you really want us dead?”John looked over at me in disbelief. “Luna, is she telling the truth?”He looked at me with desperate hope in his eyes. I pursed my lips and nodded. Blair held Victor’s hand and pleaded coyly, “Victor, I know I was wrong.“But she’s useless now, and she can’t bring any benefits to you anymore. “But I do have an idea to save the Brown family from your crisis.” She leaned into Victor’s ear and whispered something. Victor’s eyes lit up. When she saw his expression, she knew that she had succeeded. She said pitifully, “Victor, I know I did something bad, but it’s because I loved you too much. “There’s no other choice now. Let’s just try that, what do you think?”Victor walked toward John. “Dad, since she can’t speak a

John was looking at me. When he saw my pathetic state, he started to shake in rage. He hit his cane against the ground before he dashed toward me. “Luna.” Blair immediately recognized John as the head of the Brown family. She took a step forward fawningly. “John, I’m Blair, Victor’s girlfriend.” John glared at her then slapped her. “Do you know what you’ve done?”Blair crossed her arms and snorted. “John, please don’t take pity on this witch. She’s a homewrecker, and she’s seducing Victor. “Thankfully I discovered that early on, so I managed to teach her a lesson.” Blair looked very smug. John looked like he was about to pass out. John was extremely furious. “Homewrecker? Do you know she’s our lucky star?“We’re about to go bankrupt, and we were hoping that she would bless us with her predictions.“Do you want the entire Brown family to go down with you?”John stumbled from his immense anger. After Blair heard that, her face became pale. She took a step back
