Wulf’s place loomed over me like a bad, drunken decision. Why I thought agreeing to his offer was a good idea, I will never know, but I relented after thinking things over. If I went back to my roots, I might never work in show business again, as people would assume I couldn’t handle the pressure and would flee every time an issue reared its ugly head. Plus, Drake and Kain would know where to look for me there.

The only other option was to ask Skyler, but I didn’t want to burden her, and knowing my poor luck, she would force the reason out of me and I did not want to out Kain anyway, not even my friend. Part of me still loved him, even now, while my heart was shattering into a million pieces.

“I live alone,” Wulf said nonchalantly as he unlocked the door to his home. He lived in a rather luxurious apartment complex. Unlike the one I now lived in, this one was not so hotel-like and was more like a group of flats built
