I got into my father's limousine. Only his driver picked me up. I sighed. This isn't the first time Dad invited me to their house, but I don't know, after what happened during my last visit—I'm scared. I'm ashamed and I feel sorry for myself.
I feel like I'm intruding in a place where I don't belong.
I've accepted that I have no hope of being accepted by his family. I understand that, I don't invalidate their feelings.
Who would want to see the person who caused the destruction of their family? If I were in their shoes, I'd probably feel the same way.
I can't blame them for their situation and anger towards me because they have reason to feel that way.
I closed my eyes as my eyes stung. It's not my fault that I'm in this situation, none of this is what I wanted. I have no other options but to live the path my parents made for me. I'm just so unlucky.
My heart aches for myself, for the things I have to endure that weren't even my fault.
I feel guilty having those kinds of thoughts. I don't hate my parents for this life. In fact, despite the situation we're in now, I'm grateful to them for bringing me into this world. Maybe I'm just envious.
I envy those people who enjoy their lives.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not a bitter person. I'm happy that they enjoy their lives in this world. It's just that I always dream about it. I also want to experience those things.
I quickly wiped away the tears from my eyes using the back of my hand when I saw that we were entering the gates of the mansion.
"Miss Diandra, we're here," said the driver, getting out first to open the door for me.
"Thank you."
As I got out, I was greeted by Dad's big smile, which I couldn't reciprocate.
"Hija, how are you?" Dad went to hug me. I just let him hug me, and when he let go, he faced me. He must have noticed my coldness.
"Let's go inside, Andra," he said. Without a word, I followed him.
It's like Dad didn't care about not contacting me for almost two months. Then again, I'm not his only child.
I'm not mad, I just feel nothing but indifference towards him.
When we entered their mansion, we were greeted by their house staff. We went straight to the dining area where his wife and my half-sister were.
"Hija, take a seat," Dad said with a smile. We sat side-by-side, with Dad facing his wife and Elle in front of me.
I ate quietly while they talked about business, sometimes including Elle in their conversation.
"The company is sinking, so make sure you can convince him," said Mrs. Fuego.
I have nothing to do with them, so I chose not to interfere or listen.
Until the conversation turned to Elle.
"Elle is getting married, you should be there, hija," Dad said smiling. I just nodded.
Elle is already 26, she's at the right age, so it's fine. Elle smiled at me. I don't know if it's genuine or not.
I closed my eyes as I realized something. I signed the marriage contract. I'm already married on paper. Hades said we'll be married for two years according to the contract. At first, I hesitated because I didn't know him well and the time he was asking for was too long, but he convinced me.
He also wants to meet my parents. I said I'd talk to them first. He wants to meet them, so I must tell them.
"How about you, hija? Do you have a boyfriend?" Dad asked.
"I'm married, Dad," I calmly said.
They fell silent. After a while, I heard the mother and daughter laughing. I bit my lip in embarrassment.
"What? You're joking? You're so young, Diandra," my father asked seriously and coldly.
I shook my head.
"Guess what? He must be poor, huh?" Elle said, laughing. Her mother laughed too.
My grip on my spoon tightened.
"Stop it," Dad coldly said to his wife and daughter. They fell silent.
"If what you're saying is true, Diandra. You need to introduce this man to me," he said seriously.
Our dinner ended without mentioning my Mom. Dad escort me to the car; his driver will drive me home. He invited me to stay over, but I refused; I have work tomorrow.
Dad also gave me some money, but I refused it too. In the end, he asked me to come back the next day with my husband, and I agreed. I'll talk to Hades first.
When I got home, I immediately went to my room. I showered before going to bed.
I woke up early to visit my Mom in the hospital. I also cooked food that I brought for Yaya Maya, who was taking care of my Mom.
Mommy is still unconscious and is still being monitored by the doctors.
When I arrived at Hudson Corporation, I went straight to Ma'am Maries' office. She wasn't there yet, so I started working alone. I knew Ma'am Maries was always in a hurry, and time was very valuable to her. That's why it's surprising that she's late today.
While reading the schedule, my phone beeped. I saw Hades' text message.
Hades:
Come here to my office.
What? Ma'am Maries isn't here yet, she might get mad if she arrives and I'm not here. I immediately replied.
Diandra:
Why, sir?
I sat down while waiting for his quick reply.
Hades:
Don't call me that. I'm your husband now.
Gosh, what? My face heated up. Yeah, right! Hmm, so I must pretend already?
Diandra:
Oh, okay. Why did you call me here, hubby?
I waited a while for his message, I thought he wouldn't reply anymore.
Hades:
Come here now.
Humph, fine! I stood up and went to the elevator. When I got to his office, I saw a woman wearing a short skirt and a sleeveless shirt. When she saw me, she raised her eyebrow.
"Who are you? What do you need from Mr. Hudson?" she asked haughtily.
I answered her question in my mind. I'm his wife.
"Hmm, he called me here…" I said calmly.
"And why?" she snapped.
Why is she talking to me like that? I smiled sarcastically at her.
"I need to go now. Let me in," I said and turned the doorknob, but she stopped me.
"I'm Mr. Hudson's secretary. He doesn't just let anyone into his office, so what do you need?" she asked, looking irritated.
Why is this girl so nosy?
"I'm his wife. Please, excuse me," I said coldly. Her jaw dropped, and she forced a laugh, but I could clearly see how her expression changed.
"What? Sir doesn't have a wife, you're delusional! You wait, I'll tell him you're causing trouble here!" she said haughtily and opened the door and slammed it shut.
After a while, she opened the door again. Her face was pale, and when our eyes met, she bowed her head.
I furrowed my brow.
"I'm sorry, Ma'am. I didn't know," she said. I ignored her. I went in and went straight to Hades, who was now watching me.
I heard the door close, the secretary had left.
"Why did you call me?" I asked softly. Yesterday, we agreed that we shouldn't be formal with each other.
"From now on, you're not going to work anymore," he said coldly.
My brows furrowed, "I'm an intern," I said.
"And? You're my wife," he said, seemingly not understanding what I said. I sighed heavily.
"Did you eat already?" he asked. I just nodded. I pouted while staring at him.
Why is he so handsome?
"I need to go back to Ma'am Maries' office immediately," I said.
"She got into a car accident last night, she's in a coma," he said seriously.
What? My heart seemed to float. Is she okay? Poor thing.
"You're her intern, so you'll be my assistant for now. But I'm not going to let you work," he said seriously.
What?
"Let's go," he stood up and took my hand.
"Where are we going?" I asked in surprise.
"Our house."
The drive to the mall took 15 minutes. Hades got out of the car first, while I struggled with my seatbelt. Gosh, why is this so hard?!Hades opened the door, leaned in halfway, and bent slightly to help me unbuckle my seatbelt. I was about to complain, but seeing his serious face this close made me blush and shut up.God, why is he so handsome?!I felt my breathing become heavier and my heart beat faster, as if I had just run and was feeling this way.I'm sure my face was already flushed because I could feel the heat on my cheeks. He was so close...I was surprised when he looked up. He caught me staring at him!I immediately looked away. Ghad, Diandra!"Are you okay?" he asked. He had already unbuckled my seatbelt. I frowned and faced him."Of course! Why wouldn't I be okay?" I said irritably and rolled my eyes. He looked at me with a hint of confusion on his face, then he sighed. He stood up straight and took my hand to help me out.I looked down at his hand holding my arm. Instead
I sighed coldly before marching toward him."Hades, we need to talk!" I said in a warning tone.He looked at me in surprise, as if I had caught him doing something wrong. Wearing a white v-neck t-shirt and black shorts, he looked handsome, but this wasn't the time to compliment him! Humph! When I got close to him, I stopped in front of him.I raised an eyebrow. He looked away, shifting his gaze to the glass of tequila in his left hand.He took a deep breath and then put down the glass of alcohol, his eyes softening as he faced me."Wife... why are you here? You should be resting in our room," he said seriously, looking at me with gentleness in his eyes. He didn't seem drunk.I stared at him coldly."Why did you fire Manong?" I asked firmly, not answering his question.I could see his jaw clench. He looked away and picked up the glass of tequila again."Forget about him," he said coldly.Forget about him?I could feel my blood boiling.Just why are you so heartless, Hades? The sides of
I woke up. When I opened my eyes, I saw the familiar design and appearance of the room. I quickly realized I was in the mansion, in our bedroom. I immediately recalled what happened.I fainted!Oh my goodness, my child!Tears welled up in my eyes as I caressed my stomach. I've been so reckless. I didn't even think about the effect this would have on my child. I'm sorry, baby. Mommy won't do it again...But even though I think I fell, I don't feel any pain in my body. Hades saw me fall; he must also be worried about our child. He must have brought me back here...Of course, Diandra. Who else would it be?My clothes had been changed. I'm wearing my spaghetti-strap dress that I always wear at home.Holding my head, I sat up. I immediately felt dizzy, so I leaned against the headboard of our bed. I closed my eyes, hoping the dizziness would lessen, but within seconds, I flinched at the sudden opening of the door.My eyes immediately went to see who walked in. Alyena appeared, holding a tr
I pulled my hand away from his. His hand gently moved down to my waist, as if pleading me to stop. His usually expressionless face and cold demeanor were gone. They were replaced by weariness, fear, and pain. I saw it clearly in his eyes. I don't understand. Is he pretending again? Ha!I rolled my eyes, trying to hold back my tears, but the opposite happened. My tears fell.He raised a hand and wiped away the tears on my cheek with his thumb. I didn't move at first, but I quickly pushed him away.He stepped back slightly."Let's end this contract, Hades," I said firmly. He clenched his jaw. Then he looked away. Wearily, he shook his head."I can't do that..." he said softly.I looked at him angrily. That's ridiculous! He's rich; I'm sure he can! He just doesn't want to!"That's impossible! You can, you just don't want to!" I yelled and pushed him again, but he didn't budge."You signed the contract. I can't do anything about that," he said firmly.I stopped at the sudden change in his
"Sir, here's the food you ordered! There's so much of it! — Y-your wife is here...""You can leave now."I gradually woke up because of the noise around me. Hearing the woman's sharp voice and Hades' cold tone, I quickly opened my eyes. Hades was standing beside his desk, looking at the food, while his secretary stared at me, surprised and seemingly disappointed.I was lying on the long, round sofa in Hades' office; he uses it for seating and receiving visitors.Gosh, I fell asleep from crying!I fell asleep on Hades!I got up and sat. Hades' coat was on my stomach. Thankfully, even though I just lay on the sofa, my back and body didn't ache.I watched Hades open the food containers. Good thing he was seriously checking them. Since he was facing away from me, he didn't notice I was awake. My gaze shifted to his secretary. She was wearing a red blouse with the top two buttons undone, revealing her cleavage. She was wearing a mini black skirt.I raised an eyebrow.Hesitantly, she smiled
Hades was behind his swivel chair when I entered. He was standing, holding a phone to his ear, talking to someone. His other hand was in his slacks pocket. I couldn't hear what he was saying. He was looking out, facing the glass wall, where other tall buildings and the hot weather were visible.I bit my lower lip as I stared at him. His black long-sleeved shirt hugged his body tightly. His broad shoulders looked more defined without his coat, which was draped over his swivel chair.I swallowed hard. My heart beat fast, and I felt my face heat up. Gosh, how can such a perfect man even exist?!When I closed the door and fully entered, he turned to me. He looked serious and dangerous. When he saw me, his eyes softened.I walked toward his desk. Before I got close, he put down the phone.I wanted to ask who he was talking to, but I stopped myself. It wasn't necessary, and I really don't care. Duh!"It was Althea, my sister," he said.Sister? I bitterly swallowed the lump in my throat. I d
I didn't answer his question. I kept my eyes closed and let him speak. After a while, I fell asleep in pretending. I woke up at noon the next day, Hades was gone. I decided to go downstairs, but as I stood up, my vision suddenly spun. Shit! I sat back down on the bed, holding my head. I waited a while for the dizziness to pass, but it was replaced by a churning stomach. Feeling nauseous, I ran to the bathroom. My eyes watered from the excessive vomiting. Even when I had nothing left to throw up, I still felt nauseous. I hate this! I've been like this for several days, and it seems to be getting worse! When I finally stopped, I cried. I hate you, Hades! I hate you so much! I leaned against the wall while wiping my tears when my stomach churned again. I faced the toilet again. Ugh! This is awful! Tears rolled down my cheeks. I hate this. I hate this! My tears kept falling even after I stopped vomiting. I slowly stood up and faced the mirror. Sweat was dripping from my forehead. W
Diandra:Hi, Kira! Is Hades still there? What is he doing?I pouted after sending the message. Humph, maybe she'll think I'm a possessive wife. Well, it's not like I'm not. We're going to separate anyway.I rolled my eyes. I remembered their reactions when they found out Hades and I were married. I didn't want to tell them and just keep it a secret until the contract was over because it wasn't real; we were only married on paper. But the next day, Hades called a meeting and introduced me as his wife. I didn't know what to do then, especially how to face the people working in his company, but he assured me it would be fine.I asked him then that I didn't want our relationship to be publicized, and he agreed. None of his workers dared to publicly announce or post that I was his wife.Shane and Kira were speechless when they found out. Shane didn't talk to me for a week because of that. She was sulking because we promised to be each other's bridesmaids at our weddings. I just said it was
My lips trembled as I ran back to my car. Tears streamed down my face, then poured down relentlessly. My heart ached terribly. Was everything I did wrong?Reaching the garage, I immediately got in the car and sped off. My tears flowed without stopping; the pain in my chest was so intense it felt physical. The suffering they inflicted mirrored the pain I was going through. The tears welling up in my eyes weren't just from their cruelty; it was anger. I was furious because I still tried to understand them, even though I knew they didn't care.No matter what I did, they wouldn't understand because they didn't care.My feelings didn't matter, so why should I even bother trying to make them listen? They wanted my help, and I was giving it! I wanted to help them, but that's all I could do!Divorcing Hades? That's too much. They were asking for more than I could give. The fact that when I needed them most, they were nowhere to be found, hurt me deeply. My phone beeped. I quickly searched for
