Thea sat on her seat, looking down at her chubby body and sighed. Just using a little strength had caused her to pant. This was so annoying. She was Maria, the princess of the monster land and the strongest monster girl ever born in the entire land. How could she be so weak? In the monster land, no one would dare mess with her because she had exceeded all the levels of martial arts and was the youngest champion so far. But now, she had to endure, living in the body of a host who was only 16 years old, but had a fat body. Thea was 5'3 tall and weighed 72 kgs, quite chubby. This was going to be tough on her. If Maria wants to use her skills and live a better life in this host, she needed to lose weight before she could advance. And to add to it, the skin of this girl, Thea was tanned and her facial features were covered by fat, giving it a round shape like a ball. Maria couldn't help but sigh when she saw herself in the mirror, "She's so ugly." The previous owner of this body was nicknamed Fatty because of this. She was bullied and laughed at and, as a result, struggled with self-esteem and depression. It was the end of September, the weather was still hot. After the school bell rang a second time, the teacher finally came in. The teacher, Mr. Yates, stood on the podium and swept his gaze across each and every student. "I believe you all know about the incident. The police have already begun their investigation." The class nodded and sneakily peeked at Thea. Could it be really she?? "I don't believe that we have such students in our class but if we do, I hope that person would bravely turn themselves in. Don't wait for the police to catch you before you regret it." Mr. Yate paced across the podium as he looked at every possible figure who could be a suspect. He added, "You're all high school students. If you have a criminal offense on your record, it will affect your college applications." Once he was done talking, he looked at Thea and said sternly, "Thea Jones, please come with me to my office after the class..." Being called out by the teacher like this, made her look even more suspicious. The entire class looked at Thea. If this happened earlier, no one would believe that Thea, a timid and quiet girl, would dare to beat someone up. But after what happened just now with Britney, Thea's dominance shocked everyone. It didn't look all that impossible anymore. The whole class looked at her. She didn't care about the special attention and casually walked out of the classroom after the bell rang. There was an awkward silence in the teacher's office. Mr. Yates held his coffee cup with both hands. The coffee inside, was still so hot. He looked at Thea and said in a low yet determined tone, "Regarding this scandal, I won't say much. You were missing from your dorm and didn't return last night and unfortunately you are one of the suspects." He paused, his calculating gaze still observing Thea. "Did you go back to your house without permission?" Thea didn't reply to him, of course, she didn't go back. How could she tell him that she was beaten up by those damn victims and was killed. All the wounds in her body were healed by the impact of the portal. She didn't have anything to prove that it was they who started everything. Mr. Yates added, "I just need a confirmation from your parents that you were at home last night." Thea looked annoyed, where could she get a confirmation note. She had to think of something reasonable. Her eyes pooled up, looking as pitiful as she could, "Teacher, are you suspecting me?" she held back the urge to cry, or we could say, pretended to be a timid girl as she was before. The professor's eyes softened instantly. She did look so pitiful. Everyone in the school knew that Thea was one of the girls who always gets bullied by others. If she could fight back, why would she be a victim everytime. But he was a teacher and he had to hold on to the procedures. Before he could say anything, the door behind Thea opened. "Until the criminal is arrested, everyone is a suspect." A friendly voice came from the door. Thea turned around and saw a handsome man, literally an example of the Greek God, walked in, wearing a police uniform. The golden sunlight was shining in through the window, hitting the man's face as he adores a beautiful smile on his face. Thea found herself taken aback a little, after all, there weren't many monsters in her land who look good. She instantly averted her gaze and looked at his badge. He was a lieutenant. She narrowed her eyes and continued her act, "Does that mean that if anyone who couldn't bring a note from their parents will be a suspect and the culprit who could do that will be free...?" Lieutenant Dave Anderson looked at the girl, standing in front of him. At first, he thought that she was indeed a pitiful girl as the he heard from others but soon he realized something. The most eye-catching thing about this girl was her eyes, confident and quite interesting. Right now, her eyes were slightly narrowed at him. She was forcing herself to look pitiful but in reality, she looked very confident and strong. "This girl couldn't possibly be bullied by others." He thought to himself. "Of course not" He replied. "Since it's not, then why do you want me to have my parents write a note? You are the police, catching criminals is your responsibility, isn't it?" They protested. Dave found Thea's eloquence amusing. "Yes, it is our responsibility, but we also need your cooperation. But it doesn't matter if you don't cooperate. I can ask your parents myself. Dave paused to see Thea's reaction and was disappointed as she didn't seem to care at all. She had to stay calm and handle this. She turned around to face her teacher and said normally, "Okay. Mr. Yates, can I ask you something?" The teacher nodded, "What do you want to know?" Thea continued, "Where were the girls beaten up exactly?" Mr. Yates raised his eyebrows and looked quizzically at Thea. She didn't show any kind of hesitation. The teacher put the cup down and answered, "At the hallway near the girl's dormitory" Thea smiled internally but kept it to herself, "And you know that I went out of the school yesterday?" she asked, Mr. Yates looked at her confused. "Yes" Dave broke into an impressive smile as he already understood where this girl was taking the conversation to. "So, if I was out of the school last night, how can I possibly be the suspect for something that had happened in the school dormitory?" Mr.Yates was dumbfounded. Dave almost started clapping his hands excitedly. The scene that he just witnessed was like a scene at a judicial court, as if the procecuter was presenting his side of case. "Intresting...!" he muttered under his breath, impressed by how a sixteen year old girl actually defended herself. Thea rolled her eyes at him. Is he here to watch a show? She turned around to looked at Mr. Yates, who was still in a deep thought. "If there's nothing more to say, I think I should leave, Mr. Yates. I already missed my classes and I don't want to miss further..." With that said, she didn't wait for Mr. Yates's response and turned around striding towards the door. Just before getting out of the room, she shot one annoyed glance at the smiling handsome face. *************Author's point of view... After that meal, Cinthia never dared to mess with Thea. She even apologized to Thea privately after getting back to their school. The days in the future were simple and happy as there were no bullies in the school. Even the senior students respected Thea for both her grades and bravery. The days passed away in a blink of an eye and it was already the end of the year. Both the girls visited Thea's parents every weekend but Nick and Diana never talked about ranking before them. They knew their daughter wasn't good in studies and so they avoided the topic, not to embarass her. After the annual exams, the principal of the school invited Thea's parents to school for a meeting. Nick and Diana were so nervous when they were called. They thought that their daughter might have failed in exams. However, when they reached the school, they were stunned to see Thea's name on top of the ranking list. Unable to believe what they were seeing, they went to the princ
Author's point of view... Thea's plate was filled up instantly with two different flavours of pizza slices at a time. Both the boys sitting next to her stared at each other. Kevin was stunned for a moment but soon burst into laughter. "Looks like, Aaron wants to make you fat again, Thea, so that you won't be able to concentrate on your studies..." he said gleefully. Thea shrugged her shoulders and picked up one of the slices to eat. Aaron, however hesitatingly looked away. Everyone laughed at the joke but Cinthia felt a pang of jealousy settling in her heart. Was this just her illusion or did she noticed something between Aaron and Thea? Britney was still looking at Cinthia as if admiring a piece of art. "Cinthia, you look so good from closer. Your skin is soft and flawless just like..." Britney wanted to say Thea's name but Thea smacked her shoe beneath the table. It felt awkward being compared. Britney understood her boss's warning and stopped wisely. Cinthia smi
Author's point of view... "Class B?" Cinthia asked puzzled. She was sure that bright and handsome boys like them would never have anything to do with Class B. "Yes, it's one of our closest friends. I will introduce you to her later..." Mark said smiling as he booked a cab for them. Her...! Cinthia's mind raced. Is he talking about some girl? She had noticed that no girl from their class dared to step near these princes, so where did this girl come from? Cinthia hadn’t expected other girls to join, but it made sense—these three attractive guys naturally attracted attention. She just didn’t know who this lucky girl was and whether she was someone’s girlfriend. She just hoped that she wasn't attached to Aaron in any way. Masking her uneasiness under a sheepish smile, she nodded gracefully. "Okay, then. We’ll go reserve a table...!" she looked at Aaron again, who hadn't even bothered to grace her with his glance, and said, "Be quick, guys...we will be waiting. If you are late,
Author's point of view... Sitting in the class, Thea noticed that Amelia was behaving so weird. She had been glancing back at Thea all this while as if she was feeling uneasy about Thea's presence. Though Thea wanted to ignore her, her instinct didn't let her. Once Mr. Yates left the class briefly, Thea asked Britney to go ask if Amelia was in some kind of trouble. Britney snorted. She didn't want to go talk to an ungrateful brat like Amelia. But she had no choice when it comes to Thea's orders. Britney stood up reluctantly to go but before she could even take one step, Amelia turned around and hurried towards them. Thea raised her eyebrows as she saw her approaching. There was indeed something that was bothering her. Thea thought. Amelia walked over and stood right next to Thea desk, hesitation evident in her eyes. Before Thea could ask, Britney stood between them, protectively. She clearly thought that Amelia was here to cause trouble. "What is it now?" Amelia was
Author's point of view... As they were driving back home, Thea remembered an incident from their childhood, in which Cinthia wanted a doll from Thea's toys so badly. That memory had a mark on Thea's mind as that doll was the only expensive thing in Thea's toys collection and also it was the last gift for her birthday from her grandma and so Thea clearly refused to give it to Cinthia at that time. They were just kids, like five to six years old but still, Cinthia was so cruel. As Thea refused to give it to her, Cinthia secretly destroyed the doll and pushed Thea down the stairs, making her fall badly. Thea fell directly on her face which hurt her mouth. Her lower lip was torn so badly and was needed some stiches to recover. She also lost two of her teeth at that time. It was all a mess with blood and pain. Thea was clearly a victim at that time but before Thea could say anything about her to her parents, Cinthia played the victim. She started crying so hard as if it wasn't
Author's point of view... “What is it, Dad?” Thea saw how serious he was. It seemed important. “Here’s the thing." Nick began after glancing at his wife, "I have a friend. His name’s Donald Rogers, but you knew him as Uncle Don. Do you remember him?” Thea quickly searched her memories for anything related. There was indeed an Uncle Don. But other than some blurred flashes, she couldn't remember anything. “Okay, what’s wrong?” “Here’s the thing. Don and I grew up together and were very good friends. When we grew up, Don went to New York City to develop his business. We aren’t as close as we once were, but we still keep in touch. Last year, he had some problems with his business. I’m not sure about the specifics.” Thea shifted in her seat as she noticed Nick was a bit hesitant. “According to Don, he offended some people he shouldn’t have. Don’s daughter, Cinthia, is the same age as you, also a freshman. Don wants to send her to Virginia and have her stay here for some time
