Chapter 3

Author: Money Meow
The moment the man saw Juliet sitting on the floor in such a state, his eyes widened in alarm. He practically stumbled over himself, rushing to help her up.

"Ms. Kane, what… what happened?"

Only then did Juliet snap out of her daze. She shoved his hand away and whipped around to glare at me, her voice shrill. "You bitch! How dare you hit me!"

She turned toward Mario Fabbri. "Mario, take a good look at her! Isn't she one of your hotel's servers? She deliberately dressed like this to seduce my brother, and she had the nerve to hit me! Do you want your hotel shut down?"

Mario's expression changed immediately. He shot me a glare before turning back to Juliet with an ingratiating smile.

"I'm so sorry, Ms. Kane. Please, calm down… This server… she must be new. She doesn't know how things work around here, and she clearly has no idea who she's dealing with. Please don't lower yourself by arguing with someone like her…"

Then he marched over to me and jabbed a finger in my face. "Who hired you? Do you have any idea who Ms. Kane is? She's one of our most important guests! And you actually dared to offend her? Now, get on your knees and apologize to her. Right now!"

I took a breath, my brow furrowing as I stared at him coldly. "I'm not an employee of this hotel, and you have no right to make me apologize to her."

Mario's expression froze. But a second later, he raised his voice again. "You're still lying? Of course you work here! Apologize to Ms. Kane right now, or you'll regret it!"

I caught the warning in his eyes and almost laughed.

This hotel was one of the most prestigious establishments in Bellmont, catering exclusively to guests from the region's most prominent families. If word got out that someone with questionable intentions had managed to slip inside unnoticed, the hotel's reputation would be ruined.

So it didn't matter who I actually was. Right now, Mario needed me to be one of the hotel's employees.

"Ms. Kane, she's new and doesn't know any better. I'm sure she never meant to offend you." He turned back to Juliet and bowed, an ingratiating smile plastered across his face.

"We'll leave her punishment entirely up to you. As soon as the engagement party is over, I'll fire her personally. I'll make sure she never finds another job anywhere in Bellmont."

Then he lowered his voice. "Mr. Rizzo is just outside. He'll be here any moment… Today is supposed to be a happy occasion. If something were to ruin his mood—"

"And what exactly would ruin my mood?" Before Mario could finish, a cold voice sounded behind him.

Dante walked over. The moment he saw the red swelling on Juliet's face, his brow knitted into a frown. "What happened? Juliet, who did this to you?"

The instant she saw him, Juliet's earlier arrogance vanished, replaced by a wounded expression. "Dante… It was one of the hotel's servers… I only asked her to do some work, but she refused, and then… then she hit me…"

She covered her cheek as her eyes gradually reddened, as though she had truly suffered some terrible injustice.

Dante's expression darkened immediately. "Who would dare lay a hand on you? Don't worry, Juliet. Whoever touched you today will pay for it tenfold. I'll make sure you get justice."

Standing where I was, I couldn't help letting out a cold laugh. "I hit her."

I looked straight at him. "So tell me, Dante Rizzo. How exactly do you plan to make me pay?"

The color drained from Dante's face. He turned and grabbed the secretary by the collar. "What are you talking about? The Rizzos are one of the most powerful families in Bellmont! How could losing one deal with the Morettis possibly ruin us?"The secretary flinched. "Mr. Rizzo… the family has been in financial trouble for a long time. The only reason we've managed to stay afloat is because of the Moretti partnership… Your father didn't want you to worry, so he never told you."Dante went completely still. "No… That can't be right. How could the Rizzo family be finished? That's impossible…"He stared at Alaric, desperately waiting for his father to deny it. But Alaric said nothing. That was when it finally sank in. The Rizzo family really was finished. And it was all because of him. He was the one who had offended Rosalia. He was the one who had brought disaster down on his entire family."No! No!" With a furious roar, Dante grabbed Juliet, who had already collapsed to the floor, an

Dante's father, Alaric Rizzo, rushed over in a panic, his face thunderous. "Do you have any idea what you've done? Apologize to Mr. Moretti and Rosalia. Now!"Dante was still sprawled on the floor, completely stunned by the kick. Gasps broke out among the guests."What just happened? Mr. Rizzo actually hit his son!""Can you blame him? There are hundreds of millions riding on this deal, and Mr. Dante just threw it away like it was nothing. I'd be furious too.""Still, everyone knows how much Mr. Rizzo spoils his son. I never thought he'd hit him in front of everyone."Dante listened to the whispers as he struggled to his feet, his face twisted with anger. "Dad, what the hell was that for? It's one deal! How could you kick me in front of everyone over that?"I don't even want to marry Rosalia! And the Morettis started all of this. They're the ones in the wrong!"Dante grew more agitated with every word, but Alaric didn't even look at him.Instead, he walked over to my father and

"This is outrageous!" Dad rounded on Dante. "I can't believe this is the kind of man you really are. Dante! Rosalia is right. We're calling off the engagement."Dante's expression darkened. His fists clenched at his sides, but he forced himself to step forward and soften his tone."Mr. Moretti, please don't make rash decisions. This engagement isn't just about Rosalia and me. Our families have too much tied up in this partnership to simply walk away from it. Whatever happens between us, you still have to consider what's best for the Moretti family and our business together."Then he turned to me, his voice taking on a coaxing tone. "Rosalia, please. Don't be angry. I was wrong, and I'm sorry. I promise I'll keep my distance from Juliet from now on. I won't bring her into our home."Our engagement party is already underway. There's no need to end everything over this. Give me another chance, and I promise I'll treat you well."The longer he talked, the thinner my patience wore."N

"Mr. Moretti, you're saying she's your daughter?"Dad frowned, his patience clearly wearing thin. "Who else would she be? Dante, don't tell me you don't even recognize my daughter."Dante's face turned even paler. His lips moved, but no words came out. Juliet stared at me uneasily, still refusing to believe it. "You… You're Rosalia Moretti? No. You're lying. You can't be… There's no way… Who are you really? Why are you lying about this? This has to be some kind of trick…"I could only stare at her in exasperation as she spiraled further into denial.Dante, on the other hand, recovered much faster. He looked at me for a long moment before speaking in a subdued voice. "Rosalia, I owe you an apology. You look so different from your photos that I honestly didn't recognize you. Everything that happened just now was a misunderstanding. I hope we can put it behind us."After a brief pause, he took two steps toward me. "This is our engagement party, after all. We shouldn't let an unfort

"Mr. Moretti, why are you here so early?" Dante immediately adopted a respectful tone. "Don't worry. Everything for the engagement party is almost ready. There won't be any problems. Rosalia should have landed by now. I just hope she likes the dress I had picked out for her."As he spoke, Dante carefully studied my father's expression. But after waiting several seconds, he still received no response. "Mr. Moretti?"Following my father's gaze, Dante looked over at me. His expression changed at once. "Mr. Moretti, she's just some server who doesn't know her place. Don't worry. I'll deal with her right away. I won't let her disrupt the engagement party."He turned and motioned for his men to drag me away."Stop!" My father roared, his expression darkening even further. "Dante Rizzo, haven't you noticed that my daughter is already here?"The entire ballroom fell silent. Everyone stared at one another in confusion. The smile on Dante's face froze. He looked around the room before aski

Dante turned toward me, casually letting his gaze linger on my face for a couple of seconds. "Who are you? And what gave you the nerve to mess with someone I care about?"I blinked, almost amused. Our engagement party was happening today, and he didn't even recognize me. Apparently, he really had no interest in marrying me at all."Dante, she probably thinks she can use that pretty face of hers to seduce you." Juliet stepped between us, looking up at him with an aggrieved expression as she spoke in a soft, petulant voice."You're already getting engaged, but there are still so many women throwing themselves at you. I wonder what your future wife thinks about that. And I wonder… if she'll even tolerate me being around…"Dante chuckled and gently stroked her hair. "Don't worry, Juliet. Even after I marry that woman, you'll still be the only one I care about."When the time comes, I'll have you move in with us. Then we can be together every day. Besides, once she's married to me, she
