Kayla’s POV
“Do you think this is close enough to the Unseelie realm to open the Portal or should we walk further?” I asked Zane.
We were standing in the darker part of the Neutral territory, close to the place where I had interrogated the rogue just a little over a week ago. Zane had told me that the Portal would work from anywhere in the Neutral territory, but I didn’t want to take a risk considering we have to smash the mirror. There will never be a second chance if it turned out we weren’t close enough to the Unseelie realm for it to work.
“Seeing as if we are as deep into the Dark forest as we could possibly go before reaching the boundaries, I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. Unless you want to see firsthand if you have any hidden fae blood in you that would let you pass through the fae border without using any Portal.”

He was wearing only a shorts and normally, I would have taken the time to admire his shirtless body, but not now. Kayla’s POVIt was dawn by the time we finally got out of the forest. Zane and I walked around for a bit before spotting a hotel. It was not much to look at, but I was not picky. I just wanted a place to get clean and rest a bit before searching for my scum of an uncle. Though Zane didn’t look pleased by the idea of staying in such a low-class place, he had no other option than to follow me as I marched into the hotel with determination. Finding a package near the door, I picked it up with relief.
