“Steve Wilmer is investing in my father’s new company?!” I asked, standing up and looking down at the file in my hand with my mouth ajar while doctor Adrian signaled for me to keep my voice down and avoid waking my father up.

“He gets headaches when his sleep is interrupted,” he told me, and I nodded in understanding, resuming my position on the seat opposite him.
