A terrible sound of breaking things jolted everybody around. The man in his study room — as he was having a meeting with some of his partners, flinched in his spot. He grabbed the edge of the table and a sigh escaped him.
He looked up at the members and gave them an apologetic smile, uttering, “I shall go out and check. Excuse me.” He got up as all of them just nodded. He left the room, his body posture a bit nervous but then, he squared his shoulders and walked ahead until he spotted the scattered pieces of an antique vase lying near a table, placed against the white wall.
He sighed when he found a red stiletto heel lying with the pieces and then, his restless gaze immediately turned to look at the stairs. There he spotted his everything — his loving daughter, marching up to her room, stomping her feet against the floor. There was one sandal on her foot while the other was bare. She was having difficulty but she was so stubborn that she did not even care about her discomfort.
She opened the door and went inside.
“Maddison!” He uttered, and a woman rushed from a room and bowed before him, uttering, “Yes, Sir.”
“Tell them to leave. We’ll continue it tomorrow.” The lady nodded and left. He also walked up to his daughter’s room. The door was opened like always because he knew that even though Gabriella did not seek attention, she had a habit of ignoring everything when she was angry.
His gaze softened when he found her curled up in a corner of her room. She hugged her legs and was panting like a fish out of water. He did not get why she looked so scared. So he carefully walked in her direction and crouched down, putting his hand on her head and caressing it slowly.
“What happened, my princess? Why are you so scared?” He mumbled softly, so she would not run away due to fear. She already looked horrified.
“D-Dad!” She looked up and he noticed her beautiful emerald eyes were glassy. It made his heart clench badly. “D-Dad, I did something w-wrong!” That confused him more.
He frowned as he heard her. “What did you do?” He asked, still caressing her head.
“I-I… I k-killed s-someone! D-Dad, please!” She could not stop herself and started crying. That was more twisted.
“Who?” He asked firmly.
Gabriella looked at him and mumbled, “I-I don’t want to go to j-jail, dad. I’m s-sorry, please… forgive me! I-I’ll never do something l-like that a-again.” She cried more hysterically then. “I swear I—”
“God, Gabby, shut the hell up and tell me who you killed! I won’t send you to jail, my love! I won’t! Now tell me.”
“It’s John,” she whimpered and her father as if stopped breathing for a second. His lips parted in bewilderment because he knew John was one of the bodyguards Christian assigned to his family. But he was also good at gathering information. He had no idea how Gabriella ended up killing him, but he had no other way than to save his daughter.
“Please, dad, please!” She clasped her hands together and cried harder. He hugged her, shushing her softly, “It’s okay, Gabby. You don’t have to worry about it. You’re my daughter. I won’t let anything happen to you, baby. You’re my angel. Now please, stop crying.”
As he said those words, Gabriella peeped at him and nodded softly. “It wasn’t intentional, dad.” She shook her head lightly. “I didn’t want to k-kill him,” she continued, laying her head against his chest and sobbing on it.
“I know, Gabby. Now please don’t cry. You can catch a cold, sweetheart,” he said soothingly as he caressed her back. “I won’t let any harm come to you.”
“You promise, dad?”
“Yes, baby.”

“Robert,” he said in a whisper as he walked out of his daughter’s room after sending her to bed. He carefully closed the door and walked downstairs.
“Sir, sorry for the inconvenience, but now, John’s in our captivity.”
He frowned after what he heard on the line, confusion masked his face. “Captivity, what? He isn’t dead?” He asked, keeping his voice low.
“No, sir. Ma’am thought she killed him but it was just that he fainted.”
“How?”
Robert sighed over the call. “Ma’am got to know that Mr Daud sent John to check on his penthouse for Ms Paulose.”
“Who?”
“Um… the girl Mr Daud bought from India.” He tried to keep it formal in the most formal way because he did not want to disrespect the girl. He had no right, according to him. With that, he did not think she deserved disrespect.
“Oh, I get it! His youngest whore.” Robert stayed silent. He continued, “He wanted John to check on her? What’s so special?!”
“No idea, sir. And then Ma’am asked me to check on John. She asked me to kidnap him and so I did. She came to meet him but John escaped and tried to run away when she threw a metal box on his head and he fainted. She thought he was dead and I asked Milo to drop her at the mansion while I took care of John.”
He heard everything carefully and asked, “Is he conscious yet?”
“No. But I guarantee you—”
“Kill him.”
Robert was dumbfounded but he regained his senses as he uttered, “Is it compulsory, sir? I mean we can just make him understand —”
“And how?”
“By… by a good beating.”
“You sure we should take a risk, now, Robert?” He gritted out. “John worked for the Daud family for more than seven years. He’s a loyal dog. You think we can buy him?” Robert stayed silent because he had no answer. He just wanted to save John. All in all, he did not want to kill someone uselessly. That was wrong. And he was a bodyguard, not a killer or mafia.
“Kill him, Robert. It’s the best.” He was about to cut the line when Robert interrupted, “We can kidnap his wife and kids, and that’s how we can keep his tongue-tied. We just shouldn’t kill—”
“You want to save him, Robert, don’t you?”
“We’re humans, sir!” He sounded irritated. “Besides, he did nothing wrong.”
“My daughter cried so much because of him, and you say he didn’t do anything? If we leave him, he’ll tell Christian everything and I don’t want to lose a son-in-law like him! It’s better if you listen to me, and kill him, Robert,” saying that, he cut the line and Robert sighed over the call.
He looked back at John who was tied to a chair. He was already staring at Robert and he froze. He heard everything, and Robert concluded inside.
John’s busted lips curved into a small smirk before he groaned, “You all are the pieces who make a shit together. That old man stooped too low and he’s spoiling his daughter.”
“You don’t have to speak nonsense about Ms Smith.”
“Hm, right. Kill me, that’s the order, after all.” He rolled his eyes and Robert could not help but feel pity for him. John did nothing wrong except for listening to his master and that is what he was getting in return for loyalty.
Robert averted his gaze from the wounded John and brought out a gun from his waistband as he set it on John. Remorse made a layer on him and his hand shivered before he clenched his jaw and tightened his hold before pulling the trigger.
“And then I dashed out!” Both of them burst into laughter when Iqrar completed his story. They flopped on the bed and laid down together, still laughing while holding their stomachs. “You… You were so naughty in your childhood!” She turned to look at him and he chuckled. She smiled when she heard that deep laughter. It was as if dipped in gold. It sounded so rich and mesmerizing that she could not help but succumb to it. Even his laughter was sexy. “I still am,” he smiled as he stopped laughing and looked back at her. The smile she had was soft. He loved it. Loved it so much that he could not help but caress her cheek lovingly, making her sigh in relief. “I see,” she mumbled and saw his pupils dilating. The darkness in his eyes increased and she knew the meaning. Though it always irked her with other men, she could not help but find it beautiful with Iqrar. This man was something else. Something so addictive. Her favourite. And as if magnetized by the depth in his eyes, the sinful
“Chris, are you going somewhere?” Heer asked as she saw her son dressed in an ironed suit. He looked so charming like always. He had gotten those looks from his father. She smiled a bit, but she was upset seeing her son in that office attire. “Um… yes, mom,” he said as he covered the distance between them and kissed her temple before he sat in his usual place, turning the dish. “Just a small meeting,” he added, not glancing up at his mother who started serving him and his father. Sanam watched Christian from that distance, eyes slightly narrowed. “That’s unexpected, son, and kind of displeasing.” Suddenly work was displeasing for him because he cared about Heer’s feelings. She was here only for her son. Not a second without him she desired to spend. She just wanted to see him fine every time. “Dad, it won’t take even an hour, I promise.” He shrugged. Heer sighed, sitting next to her husband. Sanam gave her a glance, noticing her lips lightly pressed against each other. “Mom, you k
And on the other hand, when Christian reached his penthouse and did not find Hazel there, he became mad. He asked everyone who was worth asking questions, and when he finally talked to Rebecca, he learned that Hazel had gone back. Back to that brothel. And who sent her there, he wanted to know. But Rebecca did not know about this. She only told him that Hazel had gone out crying after seeing both of them together and that Gabriella had invited her there. Gabriella — he could have guessed it but what hurt him more, was that he wanted to believe that father and daughter for one more time so he could think of forgiving them but they lost the chance. Blind by jealousy, she invited Hazel there and perhaps she was the only one who arranged everything to send her from there. After knowing this, he stopped asking questions Rebecca and now his only destination was India. ~♪“Iqrar…” she called his name longingly as she knocked on the door of his study room. A faint permission was heard
“Dad, I’m leaving for India.” Upon hearing Christian, Sanam frowned as the thought sounded unpleasant. His brows corrugated and he looked at his son with those pair of amber orbs. Heer, who was sitting on a couch, playing with Aurora could not help but look at her son, not understanding why he made the decision all of a sudden. As per what Sanam told her, she knew the matters related to work were being taken care of by their incredible managers. Then what was lacking, she wondered. “For what?” He asked. “A very important matter came up. I need to leave, and I’m willing to leave this evening.” Sanam’s eyes narrowed. He looked at Heer who nodded. She held Aurora’s hand and got up, muttering something into her ear to which she agreed excitedly and made her way out with her grandmother. Once the ladies left, Sanam said, “I know the exact reason, son. I know it’s not related to work.” Christian swallowed. Nervousness knocked on his brain but he was well-trained in the matters of con
That night Hazel did not think that another visitor would come to meet her. She was sliding the curtains close in her room to go to sleep when Eliseva’s messenger Mahru came to tell her that a customer had come for her tonight. As soon as she heard this, her blood ran cold due to fear. She clutched the fabric of curtains which was in her hands in anticipation because she did not know how to escape from this new man. Mahru left her room and Hazel sat on her bed, lost in fear. She began to fidget with the corner of her white-coloured kameez between her fingers, not knowing if even a per cent of her restlessness would cease by doing it. The door of her room opened and she jolted up from her place. Her widened eyes stared at the man who stood before her. His eyes were bloodshot red, and it terrified her more than she already was. He was long and intimidating. His bloody hazel eyes stared at her maliciously like he was going to tear her limbs apart. He took a step in her direction and
October is over. The wind was blowing even colder. The sun started shining in the sky only in the afternoon and what was worse was that he was getting married the very next day. While taking down the old curtains of her room, she was thinking about Christian. She remembered the date of his marriage as it was printed and announced the same day, but now she did not feel like crying anymore. Maybe she had already shed so many tears that now they seemed over — overly consumed. But the thing was that she had already suffered so much that now crying over such a small thing seemed foolish to her. However, the memory of him was still stinging in her chest. She was unable to get him out of her mind, her heart, and her body. He seemed deeply dissolved in her. “Hazel…” She turned to check the person who called her from behind. She trod to her door, putting the curtains on her bed before she reached the door and opened it. Rabiya was standing at the door. She was grinning, Hazel had no idea wh
She hiccuped again as tears from her big hazel eyes cascaded down her wet pink cheeks. She closed her eyes with an inhale of short breath, still replaying what happened an hour ago in her room. He was there. He was there to take her back but she refused. How badly she wanted him to be single before he decided to come back to her, only she knew this. Just someone else’s forced presence between them was keeping her away from him. She was not unaware that the moments she spent with Christian were never as good as she could trust him but she was attached to him. It was bound to make her feel so deeply attached to him when the two of them spent every night with each other. The body is probably made to bind the souls, her mind could not hate this thing. She felt it. No, she was feeling it. But luck was probably never on her side. “Hazel,” the door of her room opened as Irene stepped inside. She carefully looked at Hazel who was sitting at the entrance to the terrace side of her room. He
“Did you talk to him? What did he say, Mr Daud?” The old man asked worriedly. From the corner of his eye, he saw his daughter listening to him keenly. Her face held restlessness and she was anxiously tapping on the wooden table’s surface with her pointed manicured red painted nails. The man on the other side sighed before he answered something very unexpected and saddening to them that he could feel his heart skip a beat. “He won’t be—but he promised us! You promised us, Mr Daud! How could he do this?!” Colour drained from his daughter’s face when she heard her father almost yelling at the man on the other side. He was upset. So damn upset! Her eyes squinted when her father stopped yelling just to do it again with a lot more anger than before. “What the hell! This is ridiculous! Look, Mr Daud, if your son couldn’t make it happen then I’ll destroy the damn reputation of—”His jaw clenched and before he could answer Mr Daud—Sanam, the call disconnected and he cursed a bunch of profan
