"I'll be damned! What are you doing? Cease fire, everyone!"

The gunfire came to a halt amid the officer's furious shouts. The officer scolded the two soldiers who had fired.

"What are you blindly shooting at? Is anyone there?" Chad was taken aback by the officer's reprimand and turned to face the direction of the gunfire. There was only an old tree riddled with bullet holes, with no sign of anyone.

"Sergeant, we saw a man and a woman dressed in robes. They looked very old."

"Yeah! I told them to stop and not approach, but they didn't seem to listen and continued walking toward us."

The sergeant slapped one of them angrily, saying, "Nonsense, you are both seeing things!"

Finally, he angrily pointed to the moon in the sky, saying, "There's a full moon tonight; even without streetlights, there shouldn't be any mistakes."

Chad subconsciously looked at the sky outside—a full moon hung high, round and bright.

"Don't be afraid. I'll protect you." Weldon's voice came from the backyard,
