Zara sat in the back of the police van, tears streaming uncontrollably down her face. Fortunately, the police officer had handcuffed her wrists in the front. So, she was able to wipe her tears with her hands.

When they arrived at the police station, the reporters rushed at Zara and surrounded her. She was confronted with a barrage of microphones being pushed toward her face and asked, “Miss Pearson, is it true that you killed your lover’s son?”

Zara nearly fainted with anger. She felt humiliated and embarrassed. She was wondering who tipped the reporters about her arrest because no one except Jasper knew that they had cut their holiday short.

Her gut feeling was telling her that her arrest and the reporters were orchestrated by Jasper. Her heart was overwhelmed by bitterness.

She looked at the reporters with venomous eyes, but she didn’t utter a word. The police officers managed to shield her from the reporters, and then they escorted her to the interrogation room.
