Chapter 10

Alessia's POV

We have continued our journey to the city of Valencia. We were out of the forest and now I could see a fork in the road leading to the same big road in the city. I don't know where a road leads from Valencia. Immediately I saw the towering barrier, surrounded by high walls and a gate made of solid iron.

Maybe the kingdoms are like that because the palace of Valeria can be found here too. I see some before us who I think are merchants who want to sell in Valencia from other kingdoms.

The sentinels are looking at what I think is a permit and they are also checking the carts of the merchants. After being tested, they let them in.

The sentinels saw us and immediately became alert. Everyone there bowed as soon as they saw us.

I frowned and wanted to look at the man behind me who was maneuvering the horse, but I couldn't ask because I felt that he didn't want to be asked.

I kept quiet even though my mind was full of questions, why the fellow sentinels respected them so much. H
