Alex’s POV

The building spits out people at five-thirty like it’s tired of holding them.

Assistants, analysts, security—everyone spills out of the glass company with their phones already out, jackets half on, lives resuming mid-step.

I leave later than most, because I always do, because silence after meetings feels earned.

The elevator ride down was empty. I loosen my tie, run a hand through my hair, and tell myself I’ll make it home in time to cook something simple.

Ariana likes simple when the world is loud.

The doors slide open.

Victoria is standing three feet from me.

Her coat is immaculate. It was cream colored wool, tailored sharp enough to cut and she’s holding a coffee she didn’t need. Her mouth curves into a smile that knows exactly how it reads from a distance.

“Alex,” she says, like my name is a door she expects to open. “We need to talk.”

My first instinct is to step around her. My second is to clock the angle of the building cameras, the line of sight from the curb, th

Alex’s POV Ethan showed up at my office the next morning without calling, which was how I knew something was wrong or he had sensed that something was.He closed the door behind him and took one look at my face. “You look like hell.”“Good morning to you too,” I said, leaning back in my chair.“You didn’t sleep,” he said. It wasn’t a question.I didn’t deny it. “Coffee?”He shook his head and dropped into the chair across from me. “Okay. What happened?”I stared at the city through the glass wall for a moment longer than necessary. “My mother happened.”Ethan exhaled slowly. “That bad?”“Worse.”He waited. He always did.“I told Ariana how I feel,” I said finally. That got his attention. “You actually said it?”“Yes.”“And?” “And I meant it,” I said. “Which complicates everything.”Ethan leaned forward. “Because of the contract?”“Because I don’t want it anymore,” I said flatly. His eyebrows lifted. “Alex”“I know,” I cut in. “I know the implications. But I’m done pretending this is

Ariana’s POV I stood there for a second longer than necessary, trying to gather what was left of my dignity. Alex’s mother watched me like I was an unexpected variable she had already decided to eliminate.“I didn’t realize you had company,” she said, smoothing an imaginary crease in her jacket.Alex rubbed a hand over his face. “This isn’t a good time.”“It’s never a good time,” she replied calmly. “That’s how important conversations work.”I shifted my weight, suddenly aware that I was the only one without a clear place in the room. “I can go,” I said, hating how small my voice sounded.Alex turned to me immediately. “You don’t have to.”His mother’s eyes flicked between us. “Actually,” she said, “perhaps that would be best. Alexander and I need to discuss business.”The word business landed like a verdict.Alex straightened. “Say what you need to say but Ariana stays.”For a brief moment, something sharp crossed his mother’s face. Then she smiled, thin and controlled. “Very well.”

  • Accidentally Married To My Billionaire Boss   Chapter 68: It Is Real

Ariana’s POV The drive back from the carnival was quieter than the ride there, but it wasn’t uncomfortable. It felt… heavy. Like something had shifted and neither of us wanted to be the first to name it out loud.Streetlights slid across the windshield in soft blurs while Alex drove with one hand on the wheel, the other resting loosely on the console between us. Our fingers brushed once, twice. Each time, my pulse jumped.I kept replaying the kiss in my head. The way it had started slowly and ended suddenly. The way it had felt less like a spark and more like a slow, inevitable burn.“Do you want to come up?” he asked as we pulled into the underground parking of his building. The question was simple, but there was something beneath it.“Yes,” I said, before fear could catch up.The elevator ride was quiet, the soft instrumental music doing nothing to calm my nerves. I watched the numbers climb, my reflection in the mirrored wall looking different somehow. When the doors opened to his

  • Accidentally Married To My Billionaire Boss   Chapter 67: Beginnings

Ariana’s POV The day wasn’t supposed to mean anything. That’s what I told myself when I woke up and sunlight spilled across my room like it had nowhere else to be. No threats, lawyers and no David. Just a quiet morning and the strange, fragile calm that had settled after yesterday’s confrontation.Alex texted me before I even got out of bed.Clear your day. I’m stealing you.I stared at the message longer than I should have, my lips curving despite myself.Kidnapping already? I typed back.Legally borrowed, he replied. Fake boyfriend privilege.I laughed softly, pressing a hand to my stomach without thinking. The baby, our situation had turned my body into unfamiliar territory. Everything felt heightened. Emotions came faster. Fear lingered longer. But today, for the first time in weeks, the tightness in my chest loosened just a little. When Alex picked me up, he didn’t say where we were going. Just smiled that maddening, calm smile and reached over to turn up the music.“You trust

Alex’s POV The hospital smelled like antiseptic and blood. I hated both.Ariana sat beside me, fingers twisted together in her lap, eyes fixed on the nurse behind the desk like she was waiting for a verdict. I kept my arm close to hers, not touching, just there, so she knew I wasn’t going anywhere.“We’re here to ask about paternity testing,” I said. The nurse glanced between us. “Okay? Where is the child in question?”“Hm, he or she has not been born yet.” Ariana steps in and the nurse nodded. “Okay, How far along are you?”“About three months,” Ariana answered. The nurse nodded once. “Okay. Then I’ll be honest with you upfront—there are limits at this stage.”I leaned forward. “Explain.”“There are non-invasive prenatal paternity tests,” she said. “They involve a blood draw from the mother and a cheek swab from the alleged father. But they’re usually recommended later, closer to ten weeks minimum fetal DNA presence and even then, reliability improves after that.”Ariana swallowe

  • Accidentally Married To My Billionaire Boss   Chapter 65: The Truth

Ariana’s POV The moment the car doors shut, Alex spoke.“Start talking.”I exhaled slowly. “Not here, please. … drive.”He didn’t argue. He pulled into traffic, jaw tight, hands clenched around the wheel. The silence pressed on my chest until I couldn’t take it anymore.“I didn’t plan for you to find out like that,” I said.“You planned to meet him,” Alex replied. “So yes, you planned something.”“I planned to end it,” I said quickly. “To make him stop.”Alex glanced at me. “Stop what, Ariana?”I swallowed. “The threats.”He braked sharply at a red light. “Threats about what?”I stared at my hands. “About me.”“That’s vague.” He said.“I know.”“Then don’t be vague.”We drove another block. I couldn’t breathe. My pulse hammered in my ears.“I’m pregnant.”The word sat between us like a grenade. Alex didn’t speak.“I found out weeks ago,” I added. “I didn’t tell anyone. I didn’t know how.”He finally looked at me, his face pale. “Pregnant.”“Yes.”“With… with my child?” he asked.“I d
