Ch 6

Astrea’s POV

I could not fathom what the future holds for me. whenever I imagined myself going to my mating ceremony and marrying the love of my life, I had thought there would be fireworks in the sky, I will walk down the aisle towards my man.

“Watch out” I snapped out of my imagination when I heard the Lycan’s cold and detached voice.

I looked around and found my dad sitting on the first row along with his wife and my half sister Mia. Mason was sitting right beside her. However, what surprised me was that Mia looked unhappy. There was this dark look on her face. As if she was not happy with how the things turn out.

Mason on the other hand-held Mia’s sat beside Mia looking straight ahead. My heart was racing as Killian, the Lycan king took my hand in his and held tightly as if I would run away. To be honest, his strong hold would surely bruise my hands later on.

“What are you doing?” I muttered even though I was smiling. Inside I was feeling anything but happy.

“Marrying you” was his reply.

I controlled myself to not roll my eyes at him.

“Let’s get this done with” he said to me as a priest stood in front of us.

“Today we have gathered here for the wedding ceremony of Lycan King Killian Graves, King of the Silver crest pack”

“He has chosen Astrea Brown, warrior of the Moon shadow pack”

“Do you accept Astrea Brown as your lawfully wedded wife?” The priest made sure to not make eye contact with the Lycan King.

“I do” his reply was just like him, cold and detached.

“Do you take Lycan King Killian as your lawfully wedded husband?”

All the hope of ever coming out of this left the chart the moment I took my mom’s pack. It is better to go ahead rather then staying here and watching Mason living the life with my step sister.

“I do” I whispered as a tear rolled down my eyes.

“You may now kiss the bride” the priest said. I snapped my head up. Lycan had a smirk on his face. How I wish to wipe that smirk off his face. My heart beat accelerated the moment he lifted my veil and held me by the nape of my neck. I gave him a hard unimpressed stare before his lips descended on me. The kiss left me momentarily speechless.

It finished as soon as it started. I stumbled back and grimaced when he did not even held to steady me.

“Now let’s go” he got down the stage. I had no other option but to follow him. The pack watched as we got into the car. One of his men had loaded my luggage into the backseat of his car.

I sat on the other side of the car glued to the window. I watched as the trees passed by in blur. the journey was two hours long.

I jolted awake when there was a loud bang. Looking around disoriented, I found myself looking outside the window. a gasp escaped past my lips as I saw the huge magnificent estate in front of me. It was enormous.

“Are you done staring?” I snapped out of my staring and looked at the other guy.

My eyes moved towards the front steps and they turned into slit as I saw that the Lycan king did not even bother to wait for me. Stepping out of the car, I thanked the guy who was descent enough to open the door for me.

“Thank you” I smiled at him.

All he did was give me a nod. The smile slipped off my face. One thing I understood is that I won’t be welcome here by anybody.

All the gentleman thoughts vanished the moment he also started walking ahead without saying anything. Then, like a bucket of cold water, reality hit hard. This is how it is going to be. I will always be left alone to fend for myself. No one to guide, no one to call my own or no one to help me.

Nothing new, I am used to it.

‘Let’s go’ my bear side muttered who is yet to make an appearance.

‘Ally’ I mumbled.

‘We got you’ she replied. Her words always comforted me. I don’t know why she always says we. I know that I am a Hybrid. And the other name that I have is Skylar. Once I get all my genes, I will call her Skylar.

“Are you coming?” I looked up and found the guy standing on the front steps and staring down at me.

Without saying anything, I followed him and entered the great hall. It was so magnificent. Nothing like my pack house. Here everything screamed of luxury. Right from the couch to the two seaters, the stairs in the middle of the royal great hall. And the chandelier hanging in the center was so beautiful.

I snapped out of my thoughts as the guy clicked his fingers in front of my face.

“Yeah” I looked towards him.

“Make yourself comfortable” he said and turned around to leave.

“Where am I staying?” I asked.

“You can go to the first floor…” he stopped midway and looked at me.

“Go to the second floor and take the fifth room. Last on the corridor to be precise” I grew suspicious but I had no other way to find out. The Lycan king was off somewhere in this grand estate.

“okay” was all I said.

One of the men bought my luggage.

“Leave it there. She will take it to her room” the guy smirked my way.

“Of course, thank you” I nod at the guard.

The guard looked unsure for a second.

“Don’t worry. I am a warrior. I am strong enough to carry them” I assured.

“See, I told you” The guy said to the guard. Giving a nod, the guard walked off.

“See you around” with that said, he walked away leaving me alone. Letting out a sigh, I took the first step towards my doom.

I found the room on the second floor and unlocked the door. I was glad that I did not have to find another person the give me the key. Stepping foot inside, I locked the door. the last time when I had come here, in my panic state of mind, could not look around properly. The room was thrice the size of my room back in the pack house. A king size bed was in the center of the room. On the right side were a sofa along with two chairs and a tea table. There was a partition for it separating it from the bed. There was royal carpet and curtains near the window.

I walked towards the window and tried to move the curtains. When they did not budge, I huff in annoyance and found a way around it to open the window. the moment I opened it, a fresh wave of breeze came swept into the room and engulfed the premises into calmness which I never felt before.

Closing my eyes, I was enjoying the cold breeze when suddenly I felt a presence behind me. heart in my throat, I turned around and a scream tore my lips

“What the hell?” he placed a hand on my mouth.

His eyes stare down at me

“Shut up” he muttered. My eyes widened as I felt his body heat and took a step back even though there was no room for movement.

“What are you doing here?” I snapped.

He narrowed his eyes at me and then smirked.

“Are you so eager to start your wifely duties with me?” he stated.

“What are you saying?” I sputtered

“If you are not so desperate, why the hell are you in my room?” he all but growled at me, his eyes turning a dark shade of red.

“The guy who was with you asked me to go to this room” I snapped back as I know it is not my fault.

“Silas” he growled loudly.

“Silas?” I frowned.

He looked down at me

“Now that you are here, why don’t we get down to business” he started.

I felt uneasy with the way he was looking at me.

“What do you mean?” I spread my legs, ready to bolt for the time being.

“Strip” His words were enough to make me freeze on the spot. Nothing could prepare me for my worst nightmare.
