Chapter thirty-three

An island. He was probably right, buying an island would probably rile him up. Olivia only had one problem in hand, and a mighty one at that. She could barely even pay her father’s debt, buying an island was near to impossible even with Maldov’s money at her disposal.

Her eyes narrowed towards the bathroom door, the fogged up doors and only the sounds of splattering water fall to the ground. She snorted at the image of her husband’s body flashing through her mind, perturbed to even think of such a sleazy thing at such a time.

She walked out of the room and into her closet. A nice, warm shower and she eased into a pair of red silk pajamas, ready to hit the bed. She hated the routine, how she was getting used to being the wife of a mafia boss.

It shouldn’t be her life.

She didn’t want this to be her life.

Letting out another snort, she walked back into the bedroom where her husband already was. Alex stood by the terrace, murmuring a f

Chapter Forty She’d expected by the time she was awake, her husband would be gone. Morning came and Alex was still asleep next to her, his towering figure wrapping her entirely. She gulped hard, almost wanting to push him away, but a side of her enjoyed the warmth his body brought. His heart kept on beating slowly, his breath ragged, then she felt a trickle of sweat fall onto her shoulder. Quickly, she turned around and placed a hand over his temple. Her intuition was right—Maldov was running a fever. “Wa—“ she paused as he squirmed, finally letting go as he turned to the other side of the bed. He was probably too tired that he didn’t even realize he had a fever. She rushed out of bed and downstairs she wentz Cillian and Sheila were right in the middle of orienting the new cook who had been hired, when she bursted through the doors of the kitchen. “Good morning Mrs— “Fever.” She said, almost panting, “Your boss….he’s running a fever.” Cillia

Chapter Thirty-Nine It was a lost battle. Olivia thought she was prepared for war, and she lost at the first sight of a fight against the seduction of her husband. Alex was good, too good even, as he weaved his hands through her hair and almost pulling it in the process. She hated how he domineered over her, broke through her defenses without much fuss, made her legs go numb in the span of a minute. His tongue delved deeper, tingling every part of her senses. She wanted him….she needed him. “God I’ve always wanted to do this.” He whispered again, his mouth broke away from hers and found a supple spot on her neck, “You have no idea how much I’ve always wanted to do this.” He sank his teeth into her, deep, she wanted to scream but only a soft squeal came out. It gave her pain and pleasure, the sinking feeling of his canines which was bound to leave a mark. Alex grabbed onto her, so tight that she was bound to be breathless in a few seconds. She could feel her i

Chapter Thirty-Eight Alex grunted in frustration a week later. She was avoiding him like the plague, to mask his annoyance he put on his shades as soon as the car stopped in front of the house. Charles Camden was still on the run, Sebastian’s info about the Russian mob was a fluke which only meant he was back to square one. He let out a sigh, the three dragons were into him now, it was only a matter of time before they found out about his problems. He was the mafia boss, the don of all three organizations, he needed to show them he was still Ontop, a feat which shook with his father-in-law on the loose. Dinner was just served when he walked into the house. Olivia rose to her feet the moment their eyes met, bolting up the stairs before he could even speak. He grimaced, taking a seat and placing a napkin on his thigh to start dinner. Business was shaky, his enemy was still on the fly, now his only form of peace avoided like he was some sort of pathogen. The pecki

Chapter Thirty-Seven Ilya refused to confess but someone else did. Charles Camden was in Monaco and in cahoots with the Russian mob. Alex had a disgruntled look on his face, seeing Marco and the new informant who had taken the liberty to speak the truth before it got out of hand. He left his wife for this, he thought, wanting nothing more than to go back to Olivia before she changed her mind on wanting him back. He was uninterested in whatever Ilya’s partner had to say, yawning as he brokered the news of his father in law’s whereabouts. “So that’s it.” Sebastian, Ilya’s partner said finally, “I think you should release him now.” Alex’s brow arched, “Release. That’s a funny word.” Sebastian frowned, “I hear you’re a man of your word Maldov.” “No.” He replied, “I’m actually a conniving, self absorbed bastard. At least that’s what my wife thinks of me, and she knows me better than anyone else. What makes you think otherwise?” Olivia reared

Chapter Thirty-Six Olivia gulped hard, then a frown followed at the sudden urge to want to stroke his hair. His breath was light, she felt it graze her knees. A grimace followed as she focused on her gaze outside the window, it was dangerous to look at him, not when he was in such a position. The car ride seemed slower than usual, much to her dismay. She signaled Marco at the front seat. Sharp as ever, he took the hint, signaling the driver to go faster. A breath of relief escape her. There was something in the air, she couldn’t quite place her finger on it but it made her jiffy. She gulped hard again. Alex had fallen asleep. All he wanted to do was rest his head, he wanted comfort from how tired he was. His wife, a major cause of his fatigue, he sought after. She smelled good too, of fresh lavender and probably a hint of vanilla from her shower gel. The aromatics made him fall asleep on her thighs immediately. The car bucked heavily from the bump on the road which

Chapter thirty-five Olivia sipped on chai, almost burning her tongue in the process. Harold Maldov sat right at the opposite, wondering why his enemy’s wife decided to pay him a visit. She was responsible for Alex shooting him. The damned bitch, he thought. She saw his lips squirm, for a moment she thought of her reasoning for paying him a quick visit, then the image of her husband’s damned smirk crossed her mind again and she grimaced. They both sat in silence for a long while, until Harold couldn’t take it anymore and finally spoke up, “To what do I owe this— “I wanted to see how you were doing.” She interrupted him. Harold’s brows creased into a tight V. He wasn’t a man who appreciated women of lesser status cutting his words off, more so a woman he scorned, “I beg your pardon?” “My husband shot you.” She said, “I’m here to make peace.” Peace. She almost snorted in laughter at the thought. All she wanted was to rattle Alex’s emotions. She spotted
