LOGINChapter 44 “Our job is to make sure you’re safe Mrs Maldov. The boss has entrusted us with the job of making sure you— “Where are you taking me?!” She yelled again. The other rolled his eyes, “We’re taking you to safety. Your location has been compromised and we think you’re being followed, this is just a precaution to get you out of danger.” Olivia quickly turned around and Alex was no longer in sight. There was this jittery feeling inside of her that she didn’t appreciate, goosebumps appeared all over her arms even as she thirsted for a glass of water. She’d never seen him like that before, Alex, he looked rattled—angry even. The men claimed they were taking her to safety, which should set her at ease as her husband reeked of nothing but trouble. Still, being away from him gave her nothing but absolute chills. There was only one man who could truly give her the satisfaction of being safe, and he was the one who had danger written all over him.
Chapter 43 “Your husband is in dire need of blood ma’am.” The doctor announced, “We managed to get rid of the bullet. Thankfully, it didn’t teach his aorta which I was scared of. All we have to do is pump him up after a few hours and he’s good to go, but I think he’s holding up great” Olivia heaved a sigh of relief, “Can I see him?” “Normally I wouldn’t advise anyone to come in as it isn’t visiting hours, but Mr Maldov could do either some support from the ones who care about him.” He responded. Olivia was already bolting into the ward before he was done speaking. There her husband was, seated upright with his chest bounded really tight with bandages. The speck of blood right at the side of his chest almost sent her senses reeling. “Hi.” Alex smiled. “You bastard!” She cried, lunging at him, “You promised!!” “I didn’t die.” He stroked her hair as she cried into his lap, “I kept my promise, Liv.” She was so emotional and yet she co
Chapter Forty-two Chapter Forty-two Olivia woke up at the sound of the bunker being knocked on the next morning. She found herself in his arms, her husband, Alex. Jolting away from here he laid, she quickly regained her composure as the knock on the door grew even more prominent. He didn’t stir. Strange. “Maldov?” She murmured over a yawn. There was no answer. Still strange. She wasn’t his best fan but she knew him to always be. On alert, even when injured and weak. The knock on the door rung even louder, fear creeped in as he still wouldn’t stir awake. His fever. She scrambled over to where he laid, and placed a hand over his temple. He wasn’t burning, which she still found strange. She finally mustered enough courage to tap him awake, Alex didn’t budge which sent her into the final mode of panic. “Maldov….Boss??!!” The outsider finally called out—that voice. She could recognize it anywhere. “Marco!!” She cried out as she pressed the button to r
Chapter Forty-one Chapter Forty-one “What was that??” Olivia jolted sharply. Alex was also on high alert, despite his fever, as he quickly grabbed a pistol from right under the stool which was close to the bed. Olivia couldn’t believe her eyes as her husband cocked his gun, a scoff escaped her as she made to reach the noise ,when Alex grabbed her from behind. “Stay back.” Her eyes widened, “Huh?” “It’s the first rule of being safe, Liv.” He muttered, a sharp wince escaped his lips as he managed to bring himself to stand, “You don’t run head on into danger. Stay back, I’ll protect you.” Her eyes widened as she watched him limp to go grab a shirt. For the first time, she was scared. He was Alex Maldov, known to be ruthless and powerful, but right now he was subdued under the powerful influence of a gnarly fever. “No.” Shaking her head, “You’re not going anywhere.” Alex shot her a look, “Are you worried about me, Olivia?” She gulped ha
Chapter Forty She’d expected by the time she was awake, her husband would be gone. Morning came and Alex was still asleep next to her, his towering figure wrapping her entirely. She gulped hard, almost wanting to push him away, but a side of her enjoyed the warmth his body brought. His heart kept on beating slowly, his breath ragged, then she felt a trickle of sweat fall onto her shoulder. Quickly, she turned around and placed a hand over his temple. Her intuition was right—Maldov was running a fever. “Wa—“ she paused as he squirmed, finally letting go as he turned to the other side of the bed. He was probably too tired that he didn’t even realize he had a fever. She rushed out of bed and downstairs she wentz Cillian and Sheila were right in the middle of orienting the new cook who had been hired, when she bursted through the doors of the kitchen. “Good morning Mrs— “Fever.” She said, almost panting, “Your boss….he’s running a fever.” Cillia
Chapter Thirty-Nine It was a lost battle. Olivia thought she was prepared for war, and she lost at the first sight of a fight against the seduction of her husband. Alex was good, too good even, as he weaved his hands through her hair and almost pulling it in the process. She hated how he domineered over her, broke through her defenses without much fuss, made her legs go numb in the span of a minute. His tongue delved deeper, tingling every part of her senses. She wanted him….she needed him. “God I’ve always wanted to do this.” He whispered again, his mouth broke away from hers and found a supple spot on her neck, “You have no idea how much I’ve always wanted to do this.” He sank his teeth into her, deep, she wanted to scream but only a soft squeal came out. It gave her pain and pleasure, the sinking feeling of his canines which was bound to leave a mark. Alex grabbed onto her, so tight that she was bound to be breathless in a few seconds. She could feel her i
