BLAIR’S POV

“Beth is missing,” I told Kade, pulling him aside the second we were out of earshot.

He turned to me with wide eyes, looking around before saying anything. “What? But… we literally saw her this morning.”

“Exactly,” I whispered. “Which is why her absence feels off. She wanted to talk to me. She was waiting near the building right before Mrs. Priscilla ran her off.”

Kade rubbed the back of his neck. “Maybe she skipped breakfast?“

I wanted to believe that but something in my gut twisted hard, refusing to just take it as that. “She wouldn’t skip it. I asked the staff and she said breakfast is mandatory.”

He glanced toward the front of the dining hall. “Let’s wait till it’s over. If she’s still not here, we’ll figure it out together, okay? We’ll find her.”

I nodded, even though every fiber in my body screamed that something wasn’t right. I stole a glance at Harper across the hall. She was giggling at something Sherry was telling her and it made me wonder what she had done to Be

Two years later Blair’s POV They say parties are meant for fun, a place to lose yourself and escape your worries. If only I could trade chasing down my son’s breakfast for a night of music and lights. “Kade!” My voice carried from the kitchen as I rummaged through the cupboards. Every single time. Honestly, you had to give it to him, it’s like clockwork. “Where’s Marcel’s breakfast? Don’t tell me you forgot again!” Silence. Of course. Now he’s pretending not to hear me. I wiped my hands on a towel, ready to shout again when a familiar laugh drifted down the hallway. A moment later, Kade appeared in the doorway with Marcel perched on his shoulders like some tiny king on his throne. “Ta-da!” Kade declared, striking a pose and flexing one arm. “Breakfast is right here, ma’am. Hand-delivered with style.” I sighed. He really thinks he’s something. “Kade, you cannot serve our son for breakfast,” I said, folding my arms. Marcel giggled and patted Kade’s head like he’d just scor

BLAIR’S POVMONTHS LATER Pain ripped through me like lightning. My knees buckled and I gasped, clutching the kitchen counter for support. The cool wood pressed into my palms, grounding me for a moment.“Not today,” I whispered to my belly. “Please… not today.”But deep down, I knew better. This was it. This was real.I glanced at the clock. Ten-thirty a.m. Kade had already left for his big meeting. My chest tightened at the thought of him rushing back.Another contraction slammed into me, stronger than the last. I breathed hard, trying not to scream. Waves of heat rolled down my spine, and my stomach knotted painfully.I scrambled for my phone and dialed him.“Hello baby.” He answered. “Come home. Now.”“Blair? What’s wrong?”“Baby’s coming.”The line went silent for a moment before the dial tone buzzed. I knew he was already running.I tried to move toward the living room, but another contraction hit, freezing me in place. My hands gripped the doorframe so tightly my knuckles ached

BLAIR’S POVI turned to Kade, who was all smiles, and gave him a tiny nod.As soon as I stepped closer, an explosion of color erupted into the air.“Welcome back, Blair!” someone yelled, and the cheer that went up almost knocked me off my feet. “Welcome back Kade!” Oh. My. World.I blinked rapidly, not trusting myself to move.Flowers were shoved into my grasp, accompanied by congratulatory smiles. Someone pressed a glittery card into my hands.I could hear someone crying. Wait… that was me.My eyes stung, and tears spilled over instantly.Kade chuckled beside me. “Seriously? Stop that, or you’re gonna make me cry too. And we can’t have that.”I slapped his chest playfully with the back of my hand, half laughing, half crying. “Oh, shut up.”“Never.” He leaned in close to my ear, his voice soft as he whispered, “Smile. They’re literally here for you.”The crowd parted as I began to walk through, students shouting greetings and waving pompoms. This can’t be happening. I felt like a Hom

Blair’s POV A MONTH LATERThe mirror wasn’t on my side this morning. I had tried almost five different outfits, and yet I could still feel the mirror scowling at me.“It’s too tight,” I murmured under my breath, tugging at the top of my sweater and tilting my head to see if a different angle would help. How about if I turned sideways… nope. That didn’t work either. I could see the soft outline of my curved stomach. It was visible enough to spark unwanted whispers and side talks from people, the last thing I needed with my current state of mind.“Babe,” Kade’s voice came from across the room. His calm tone sent a flicker of irritation through me. Why wasn’t he the one wrestling with maternity jeans at eight in the morning?“I don’t mean to sound like a jerk, but if you keep this up, we’re gonna be late,” he added, sounding impossibly patient. He smiled cheekily. “Or are you planning on changing outfits until the baby comes?”I shot him a look. “Very funny. Is that supposed to be helpf

BLAIR’S POV By the time lunch came around, I was already feeling tired. The plates looked beautiful with all the stuff I was craving minutes ago but just looking at them made me lose my appetite. Not wanting to make Kade worry, I decided to eat anyway but my stomach rebelled the second I took more than a bite or two. I pushed the food around my plate, trying not to draw attention, but of course Kade noticed. He always noticed. His brows pulled together as he leaned closer. “Blair, you’re starting to look pale.” He got up before even finishing his sentence. “Come on. Let’s go back to the villa. You need to rest.”“What about the food?” I asked him.“The same one you can’t eat?” He asked. “We’ll get you something else. But first, I need you to get some rest.”I shook my head quickly, forcing a small smile even though my stomach churned. “No. I’m not letting this ruin our honeymoon.”“Blair…”“I mean it,” I interrupted firmly, dropping my fork. “It’s just the baby making me queasy. It’

Blair’s POVI pushed out a long breath from my nostrils, groaning in my sleep. The smell of food drifted through the room, pleasant but somehow making my stomach twist. I moved on the bed, feeling a pang of hunger, but the thought of eating made bile rise to my throat.I scrambled out of bed, rushing to the bathroom. I barely made it in time to lean over the sink and wretched, straining to breathe.Kade must have heard me because his footsteps followed closely behind. He was already dressed in a neat t-shirt, his hair combed back like he’d been awake for hours.“Babe, are you alright?” His voice was filled with concern and guilt even before I could say a word.I couldn’t answer immediately, still catching my breath. “I’m so sorry, babe. I shouldn’t have made breakfast so soon. I just wanted you to have something ready when you woke up.”I laughed weakly, the sound shaky. “It’s not the food, Kade. It’s the baby. Don’t worry about it, really.” My hand rested on the sink as I tried to st
