BLAIR’S POV

“Beth is missing,” I told Kade, pulling him aside the second we were out of earshot.

He turned to me with wide eyes, looking around before saying anything. “What? But… we literally saw her this morning.”

“Exactly,” I whispered. “Which is why her absence feels off. She wanted to talk to me. She was waiting near the building right before Mrs. Priscilla ran her off.”

Kade rubbed the back of his neck. “Maybe she skipped breakfast?“

I wanted to believe that but something in my gut twisted hard, refusing to just take it as that. “She wouldn’t skip it. I asked the staff and she said breakfast is mandatory.”

He glanced toward the front of the dining hall. “Let’s wait till it’s over. If she’s still not here, we’ll figure it out together, okay? We’ll find her.”

I nodded, even though every fiber in my body screamed that something wasn’t right. I stole a glance at Harper across the hall. She was giggling at something Sherry was telling her and it made me wonder what she had done to Be

BLAIR’S POVInvestigations and interrogations began at noon. I was the first to be called upon and honestly, I was not surprised.“So,” the officer cleared his throat. “How long have you known Beth?” I could hear the suspicion buried under his calm voice and met his gaze confidently, trying to tell him I wasn’t scared of him. He was questioning the wrong person. “How long?” He repeated, cocking an eyebrow. “A few days. I was assigned to guide her.” My answer was simple, but to the officer, it wasn’t enough.“And you were assigned by who?” I inhaled slowly. “Mrs. Priscilla and….a psychologist.” His eyes didn’t move from mine, like he was trying to read my thoughts and body language. “But I was informed that Beth came to see you just minutes before she went missing,” he said. “Do you know what it was about?” I blinked. Of course I did and I wasn’t going to lie. “She said she wanted to talk to me. She didn’t get to say it because Mrs Priscilla dismissed her.”“I see,” he nodded

BLAIR’S POVI sat on the edge of the bed with a clenched jaw, my fists balled tightly as I fought to control my wolf. She was angry, urging me to rip into Harper without thinking and her rage was pulsing in me. All I had to do was just sink my claws into her smug little face and end whatever game she thought she was playing. But I knew that would be rash. The room door suddenly creaked open and I lifted my head to see that it was Harper. My wolf stirred angrily but I maintained a straight face.If only she had an idea of all the muderous thoughts I was having, she wouldn’t have stepped in like everything was fine, throwing me one of those her fake smiles. I looked at her hand and I noticed that she was holding a bottle of soda, cold sweat dripping down the plastic. “Oh, Blair,” she sighed when her eyes landed on me. “You must be sad because of Beth,” she added, walking closer like she gave a damn. “She’ll be fine, okay?” I didn’t answer. I didn’t trust myself to. I stared ahead

BLAIR’S POVI didn’t realize I had fallen asleep until someone’s hands shook me awake. My eyes flew open and I let out a sigh of relief when I saw who it was. I blinked up into Kade’s face, his eyes peering down on me. When did I even fall asleep? I must have drifted off waiting for him. I was supposed to be at alert, considering I was sharing a room with the enemy.“That must have been some deep sleep,” I heard him mumble with a small smile.I smiled back weakly as I sat up on the bed and ran my fingers through my hair. “Are you okay?” he asked, lowering himself to the mattress. His thumb brushed my hair from my cheek and then he leaned forward, kissing me, softly. I couldn’t help but kiss him back and I sighed into his lips, feeling so much better. When we parted, I forced a smile. “How did the interrogation go?”He huffed a humorless breath. “It was complete bullshit,” he answered. “They ran through the same questions four different ways, like repeting them would make a new answe

BLAIR’S POVIt was morning again. As we eat breakfast, I stared at the empty seat across from me for what had to be the tenth time. My spoon sat untouched in a bowl of oatmeal that had now gone cold because I wasn’t paying any attention to it.Where was Harper? I hadn’t seen her since we left the room this morning. I didn’t see her anywhere in the hallway and neither was she sitting with Sherry who has had her head down this whole time.“Hey,” Kade nudged me. “You haven’t touched your food. What is it?”“It’s Harper,” I whispered, glancing towards the door. “She’s not here and her absence is louder now.” My stomach twisted, not from hunger but from the sick anticipation of whatever she could be planning next. Before Kade could answer, the friendly young staff, Callie, approached our table with her hands clasped nervously. I looked up at her, hopeful.“How are you doing?” She asked before I could say anything. “We’re holding up fine,” I quickly replied. “Has there been any update o

BLAIR’S POVKade’s jaw clenched hard and I could feel the war waging inside him. His instinct to protect me was louder than any logic. But he also knew the kind of shit storm we’d be dragging ourselves into if he got in the way. Besides, I knew I was innocent and he knew that too.So after a long, burning second, he gave a stiff nod. He didn’t say anything, just let his hand fall from my hand.I gave him a small smile and followed the officers out of the dining hall, keeping my head high. Everyone watched with wide eyes and the whispers only grew wider, like I was already wearing the stain of guilt. The men led me into an office that smelled like old paper and something faintly acidic. I was taken to the drug investigation officer who was a bulky man with a sour face. He motioned for me to raise my arms and I did. Wordlessly, he and another woman searched me thoroughly but not invasively, probably disappointed they didn’t find pills sewn into my bra strap or something. Then one of

BLAIR’S POVI took a slow breath and looked at all the faces in the room. “Before I say another word, I suggest you find Harper’s ex-boyfriend and get him to take a drug test.”The men exchanged glances and Harper’s head snapped toward me. “What are you insinuating?” Her voice cracked right in the middle, a small tremor she couldn’t hide. “This is about you. You’re the one being tested here.”I didn’t look at her. My gaze remained on the leader who was staring back at me. “Bring him in. If I’m lying, the test will say so.”The officer looked between us, perhaps deliberating on what to do. The confusion in the air was pressing harder but I was enjoying it. I couldn’t wait for Harper to see how much her plan failed. Finally, the man muttered, “Get the ex boyfriend in here. Now. What’s his name?” He quickly asked me.“Oh, it’s Jaxon,” I offered with a smile. “Jaxon Steele.”“But—” Harper started.“If this is some sort of prank,” he cut her off sharply, “Or an attempt to waste our time a

BLAIR’S POVI scratched my nails into the skin of my palms as I waited. I had named Sherry as Harper’s accomplice and now, we were waiting for her to be brought here. The door opened and Sherry was marched inside, her eyes darting around like she already knew she was in trouble. My heart thudded so hard against my ribs, but I managed to keep my face cold. I had to pull this off. I just had to.Across the room, Harper shifted in her seat. She was trying too hard to look calm, but her body betrayed her. She kept trying to make eye contact with Sherry but I caught her gaze and didn’t bother hiding my glare. I hoped she was smart enough to realize her little plan had exploded right in her face. The leader turned to me. “Alright. Over to you, Blair. You asked for Sherry to be brought in. Well, here she is.”I nodded and then got on my feet. I felt the eyes in the room hook on me, but I only looked at Sherry. “I asked for Sherry,” I started in a clear voice, “Because she’s the one who hu

BLAIR’S POV“Why didn’t you come to me?” Mrs Priscilla asked me. Immediately Harper was taken away, she turned to me and when I caught her eyes watching me, she tilted her head. I knew that was a signal for me to follow her, so I did. But I didn’t go alone. I pulled Kade along with me. Now outside, the woman looked rather upset as she bombarded me with questions. “This could have been settled among us,” she said, crossing her arms stiffly. “I’m not the one who called the Pack’s drug enforcement,” I shot back in my own defense. “Harper did that. Why am I being queried?“You really don’t get it, do you?” She sighed. I stared at her, trying to understand what she was really upset about. I soon figured that it wasn’t just Harper’s arrest. It was the possibility of exposure, of losing control over the tidy image Northvale tried to maintain.“You are supposed to report to me because that’s how order is maintained, Blair,” she said finally, “We handle things internally. Quietly.”I chuc

BLAIR’S POVIt couldn’t be possible. I screamed the words in my head, but my body wouldn’t move. I just stood there, frozen, staring at the Lycan boy in front of me.His emerald green eyes locked onto mine, and I couldn’t look away. This wasn’t supposed to happen. I wasn’t supposed to have another mate. But I felt it, deep in my chest, in the way my heart skipped a beat and my wolf stirred wildly inside me. Every part of me recognized him. He was my second chance mate.Someone bumped into my shoulder, snapping me back to reality. The hallway noise rushed in…the sound of voices, footsteps, and lockers slamming. I blinked, trying to focus. This time, I really looked at him. His dark hair was slightly messy, his skin warm-toned. He had a strong jaw, athletic build and broad shoulders, with the same sharp features all Lycans seemed to carry. He stepped closer, his eyes pinned on me. “Hey…”My throat tightened and I couldn’t stop staring. Somehow, I managed to swallow and say, “Hi.”It ca

BLAIR’S POV I tugged at the collar of my turtleneck for the third time, still not sure if it was hiding the hickeys on my neck. The last thing I needed was half the school seeing the mess Kade left behind. I moved quickly through the hallway, scanning for Will. If I didn’t catch him before his first class, I probably wouldn’t see him again all day.Halfway down the corridor, I slowed down, looking at the faces around me.There were a lot I didn’t recognize. Most of them stood near the lockers, talking with a few students I did know. That’s when it clicked….they were the new students from Southvale. Most of them were supposed to arrive today according to Will. I spotted a boy from my chemistry class leaning casually against the wall, explaining something to a dark-haired girl who didn’t look familiar. Nearby, another group were asking questions, how things worked, where to go, and if the professors were strict.“Crazy,” I muttered, watching them quietly. It had to feel strange, being

KADEWe’d barely stepped inside when her back met the wall. She tugged at my shirt, dragging me down into a kiss that was messy and warm, tasting faintly of the wine we’d shared at dinner.“Fuck,” I hissed when her hand slipped lower, gently cupping my balls and massaging the base of my hard cock. She looked up with that sexy little smile, and I couldn’t tell if it was the wine or something else that made her this bold.“You’re being very naughty, baby,” I muttered, voice tight. She didn’t answer, just kept kissing down my neck slowly, like she wanted to drive me crazy one inch at a time. Her fingers teased my waistband, lingering at my throbbing cock. “What am I going to do with you?” I breathed, brushing her hair back as she looked up at me with that heat in her eyes.“Anything.” She whispered. That was all it took.I scooped her up, her arms slipping around my neck as I carried her to the bed. She let out the softest laugh, still buzzing from the wine. I set her down gently, eye

BLAIRThe concierge gave us a polite nod, handed us our menus, and quietly stepped away. I barely skimmed the pages before spotting a few dishes that immediately caught my eye.“They have truffle risotto. And duck breast with cherry glaze. I’ve always wanted to try that. Oh and lobster tail?” I beamed with barely contained excitement. Across the table, Kade watched me with an amused smile. “Get whatever you want,” he said calmly, like the prices didn’t matter at all.Once the concierge disappeared, I set the menu down, still trying to process everything. “Okay, seriously. How did you even pull this off? I heard reservations here take weeks.”He shrugged. “I was persistent.”I narrowed my eyes at him, still smiling. “Persistent?”He leaned in a little, his tone playful. “Let’s not forget, I’m a Reid. That helped.”“Cool,” I said with a grin, settling back into my seat.“So,” he asked, watching me, “Do you like it here?”“I love it,” I replied honestly. When the waiter returned with ou

BLAIRThe ride to wherever Kade was taking me wasn’t awkward. It was quiet, but comfortable. He had slow, mellow music playing in the car, and I couldn’t help but wonder where we were going. His right hand stayed on the wheel, while his left rested on mine in my lap. Every few minutes, he’d lift it and press a soft kiss to the back of my hand, like it was nothing. When the car began to slow, I glanced out the window and gasped at the magnificent building we were pulling up to.No way, I thought.I blinked and leaned forward, making sure I wasn’t seeing things. Turning to Kade, I found him already grinning from ear to ear.“You’ve got to be kidding me,” I whispered, and he just laughed. He got out of the car, walked around, and opened my door with ease, offering his hand to help me out. I took it, stepping out slowly, my eyes immediately locking on the towering penthouse ahead. The King’s Restaurant. It was the most exclusive place to dine in the entire pack. Reservations took weeks,

  • In My Lycan Stepbrother’s Bed   Chapter 107: Perfect Life

KADE While Blair was out, I took the time to set everything up. I’d planned it earlier while we were still at school and this was meant to be a surprise. The hotel staff knew who I was, so getting the special wine and the right glasses wasn’t a problem. I asked them to bring up a bottle and some strawberries. They didn’t ask any questions. One look at my last name, and people moved. I ran the bath myself. It was hot, but not too much. And I added a few drops of essential oil, something soothing. The whole room now smelled like vanilla and I was pretty sure she’d love it. By the time Blair walked back in, the wine was open, the bath was full, and I was already inside. When she joined me, I poured her a glass and watched the way she tipped her head back to take a sip. Her dark brown hair spilled over her shoulders, framing her face. Blair never had to try, she was just effortlessly beautiful. “Aww, that was harsh,” she said, wincing a little. I laughed. The wine wasn’t even that s

  • In My Lycan Stepbrother’s Bed   Chapter 106: No Thanks

BLAIR By the time we got back to the hotel room, the sky outside had already turned dark. I dropped my books onto the bed and let out a tired sigh. My back ached, and I could feel a headache coming on. Even after that wild moment with Kade in the library bathroom, I’d managed to get some reading done. As I stretched my arms over my head, I noticed Kade in the corner of the room, already pulling off his shirt. I gave him a look, and he caught it immediately. A smug grin spread across his face. He knew exactly why I was looking at him. “Don’t pretend you didn’t enjoy it,” he said, clearly pleased with himself. “You were literally moaning my name.” I didn’t respond. Not because he was wrong but I wasn’t about to boost his ego any more than it already was. I rolled my eyes, about to say something smart, when the room phone rang. I turned toward it, surprised. Since it was my room, I walked over and picked up the receiver, cradling it between my ear and shoulder. “Hello?” “Miss T

BLAIR “We can’t do this here,” I whispered, trying to catch my breath as Kade’s lips traced down my jaw and neck. My pulse was racing, but more than anything, I was worried someone would walk by. “Who says we can’t?” he murmured against my skin. I pressed a hand to his chest, trying to steady myself. “Someone might see us,” I said, looking up at him, more serious now. He pulled back slightly, eyes scanning the quiet stretch of the library. Then they landed on the small bathroom tucked in the corner. I followed his gaze and immediately knew what he was thinking. “No,” I said under my breath. But he was already smirking. “Kade…” I whispered. He took my hand, and I didn’t stop him. Because deep down, I didn’t want to. We slipped inside the bathroom, and the door clicked shut behind us. I could hear my heart thudding in my ears but Kade’s heavy kisses invaded my senses once more. His hands were everywhere, all over my body, caressing, fondling, and touching. He had a firm grip o

KADE The second our lips broke apart, the locker room exploded. Some of the boys were cheering, clapping, and even a few howled. Absolute idiots. I laughed and didn’t bother looking at any of them. Instead, I grabbed Blair’s hand before one of them got any dumb ideas. She kept her face down, hiding it in my chest, which only made me laugh harder. She looked like she was ready to sink into the floor from embarrassment, so I pulled her out of there fast. We didn’t stop until we were back in the hallway, where it was finally quiet. She let go of my hand and turned to face me, cheeks still red and eyes wide. “What was that?” she asked. I grinned. “It’s kind of a ritual,” I said. “A team thing. When the captain’s been gone too long, they do that when he comes back.” She blinked. “You’re serious?” “Dead serious,” I said with a straight face. “They just told me about it. I had to go along.” She narrowed her eyes, shaking her head. “Okay, but what if you didn’t have a girlfriend?”
