Blair’s POV

They dragged Kade back in not long after, and the moment I saw him, my stomach twisted. He could barely hold himself up, limping before being shoved down and chained again. With the cuts, swelling, and dried blood on his face, he looked almost unrecognizable.

“Kade…” I whispered, shifting toward him until the chain around my ankle yanked me back.

He didn’t look at me right away. His eyes were barely open, lips cracked and dry, and I could hear the faint growl of his stomach even from where I sat. Mine wasn’t much better, but I could push through the hunger. His… his hair was tangled with the exhaustion of someone beaten within an inch of their life.

“Are you okay?” I asked, though the answer was obvious.

“I’m fine,” he muttered, voice barely more than a breath.

We sat in heavy silence, the ache of hunger and helplessness pressing down on us. Then the sound of boots echoed down the hall. My head turned toward the door just as it creaked open.

  • In My Lycan Stepbrother’s Bed   Chapter 170

Blair’s POVAfter dinner with Carlton, the guards dragged me away, and I knew exactly where they were taking me. Back to my cell.My stomach growled, loud enough for them to hear. I hadn’t touched a thing Carlton offered. How could I? Letting my guard down wasn’t an option. Now I wished I’d eaten at least one of those berries for the sake of the child I was carrying. The cell door creaked open, and before I could brace myself, the guards shoved me inside. I stumbled forward, falling hard onto the floor. My ankle twisted awkwardly, and a sharp pain shot up my leg. I turned my face away from the gritty ground, wincing as one of them chained my ankles again. This time, I didn’t resist. The clang of the door echoed behind me as I slowly lifted my head, my eyes searching for Kade. He was still there, sitting in the shadows, wrists shackled to the wall. His shirt was torn, his skin bruised, and even in the dim light, I could see how bad he looked.“Kade,” I whispered, moving closer. His gaz

Third person POVBlair’s mother sat at the edge of the bed, staring down at the phone in her hand. All the preparations for her daughter’s return now felt meaningless. Blair and Kade hadn’t come home. They hadn’t been found. It was nearly ten pm, but sleep was impossible. She kept refreshing her messages, hoping that someone would text with any news about her daughter’s whereabouts. She was worried about Kade too. She wanted to believe he’d protect Blair, but that belief wavered. The men they’d sent had already declared them missing.Robert hadn’t slept either. He’d been making calls all day, chasing updates, trying to stay optimistic. Unlike his mate, he still believed Kade and Blair simply weren’t ready to be found. He set a steaming cup of tea on the bedside table, then quietly watched his mate, who was now staring at a photo of Blair on her phone.“You need to rest,” he said gently. “Staying up all night won’t change anything.”She didn’t look at him. “What if they try to call, a

Blair’s POV“Kade?” I called out, my voice hoarse. The room was dark, so dark I could barely make out his shape. But I could hear him. His breathing was heavy, each labored inhale making my heart sink further.“Please, say something,” I whispered, sniffling through my tears. “Anything.” I needed to know he was still with me.King Carlton’s men had chained me to a pole along the far wall, far enough that I couldn’t reach Kade. He’d been beaten, again and again, and watching him crumble while I cried helplessly was unbearable. I couldn’t protect him. I couldn’t even hold his hand.I shifted, trying to get closer, but the chain bit into my wrist, forcing a wince out of me. The room stank of damp rot and blood, the floor cold beneath me. The air was heavy, with barely any ventilation, and the occasional sound of rats scurrying nearby made my skin crawl.I had no idea what time it was. I could only imagine what our parents must be thinking. Had they realized we were gone?“Kade?” I calle

Third Person POVBlair’s mom moved around the house with a wide smile on her face, making sure that everything was in place for her daughter and Kade’s return. "Have you cleaned Blair’s room?” Her voice rang out. “ I want it to be spotless. It has been aired out, right? Good,” she answered, looking away from the maid who was nodding her head. “We need to set the dining table. I hope the cooks won't keep us waiting. We need to have everything ready before they arrive.”Another young maid scurried off without a word, and the others hurrying to follow her commands. The woman turned toward the window, watching the gates Blair would come in from and smiling to herself as she imagined them walking through those gates.Behind her, Robert entered quietly. The man stood aside for a while, quietly watching her for a moment before shaking his head.“You’re making this too much of a big deal,” he muttered and his mate turned to face him, looking a little startled. “Let’s not forget that they ran

  • In My Lycan Stepbrother’s Bed   Chapter 166

Blair’s POVImmediately the car stopped moving, my heart jumped. I glanced at Kade with wide eyes. Even though his gaze was fixed outside, he was still holding my hand tight.King Jerald threw a glance at us before stepping out of the vehicle. One of his men came around and pulled the back door open. “Out!” He barked.Kade finally looked at me. He gave me a reassuring nod before stepping out first. I followed weakly because my legs were shaking from the long ride. We were surrounded immediately by armed men who carried weapons and were ready to fire. We were in King Carlton’s estate. I counted at least a dozen men, and those were the ones I could see. Even if we tried to escape, it would be impossible to get out unscathed."Move," one barked, pushing me forward.Kade caught my hand as they shoved us toward the estate, glaring in warning at the man who had pushed me. He kept glancing at me and I could see how much he was trying to keep his rage together. He looked helpless this momen
