Evenlyn's pov

For a solid second, it looked as if he was more willing to bite on his tongue than having to explain himself and his entire facial features lightened up considerably then just like that it was gone and his disarming smile was back on his face again like somebody carefully switching out and wearing a mask.

"It's just some pack business…nothing that you really have to bother yourself with," he said rather quickly as if he couldn't be happier to just sweep the topic under the carpet and it was clear from how he quickly diverted and he asked if my lawyer had said anything else because I took a while coming out.

At this point, I was already inside the car fastening with my seat belt but still keeping my eyes on him he had been so passionate over the call as if the person on the other line would have received a direct blow to the face if there wasn't a phone separating them, if there wasn't any distance between them he had looked fuming mad and now he was already smiling agai
