Luca's men opened the door to reveal a small, barely lit room with a man strapped to a seat in the corner. The flimsy underpant he wore did nothing to cover his dignity. His face and body was covered in horrible bruises of different colors. Luca walked into the room, taking the seat opposite of the man. He stared at the man with menacing eyes as he spoke in a dark, low voice, "I must say you're really tough but too bad I'm not here for games, I hope you're ready to talk"
The man threw his head back as he laughed hysterically before looking straight into Luca's eyes with defiance crossing his face. " I don't care what you do to me but I'm not saying a fucking word" he shouted in a hoarse voice. He tried to spit on Luca's face but due to the distance between them the saliva landed on the floor. Luca stood up, circling his seat before coming to stand in front of him. "I've heard that line so many times from people like you but do you want to know what's funny?" He asked in a low, dangerous voice. "I always ensure that they crack and you'll be no exception" Luca stepped closer to the shivering man,his footsteps echoing off the concrete walls. " There's a limit of pain one can take, and you're getting to your limit" He studied the man's face, pinning him down with his menacing glare. The man's face paled even though he tried to act like he was unaffected by Luca's words. "Just kill me, fucking do it" He managed to say,his voice cracking slightly. "Don't worry about that, I will" Luca said before signaling for his men. He instructed them on what to do before leaving the room. On his way to his study,he saw Marcus, his best friend and right hand man waiting for him at the entrance. Marcus has been his friend since they were teenagers. Marcus was slightly more muscular than Lucas but he was more calm and one barely knows what goes on in his head. "Were you able to get anything out of him?" Marcus asked, closing the door behind him. "Not yet but soon" Luca replied, rolling his shoulders. "He's persistent on keeping it to himself even if he dies" "I'm sure we will get something from him before that happens " Marcus chuckled, before taking a seat. "So how's the number looking? Better than last week I hope" Luca asked, changing the topic to business talk. His company is a cover for his mafia underground business to get the press from trying to know how he gets his money. Marcus unlocked his phone, scrolling through the record of this week's account as he spoke. "It's better than last week, I can say that but it's not up to this week's expectancy. The profit looks good but they're few new competitors that are trying to gain access into our territory" " Those pesky rats, always trying to ruin someone's mood" Luca muttered, his annoyance evident in his voice. "That's how all business is,some small dogs trying to take on the big dogs but that should be the least of our worries because we have a bigger problem" Marcus replied, putting his phone into his pocket. Marcus stood up from his seat as he spoke. "I think we need to eat, I'm starving. There's this new diner I visited last week. It's a little different from the fancy restaurant you frequent but the food there is killer and the atmosphere is cozy" " And how different is this diner?" Luca asked Marcus, raising an eyebrow. "Chill Luca, it's a 15-minutes drive from here and it's worth it, Daria made me go there saying it's the best and I agree" Marcus said,a sly smile on his face. Daria is Marcus' younger sister. — — — The past few months have been very busy for Alexandra but sometimes she couldn't help but let her mind drift to the strange man she had led to her house two months ago. After that night, she had hoped to come across the man again but she didn't. With the money he had left, she was able to get a cheap phone and sort her bills. Today was an exceptionally slow day at the diner and there weren't many customers today. Alexandra was taking the order of an old couple when the bell of the door jingled indicating that a customer walked in. She looked up to see two men standing in the doorway, their presence getting everyone's attention. Her eyes widened as she recognized one of them as the stranger she took to her house. He walked into the diner in a confident stride, occupying the booth closer to the window. His friend who was more muscular and taller followed behind taking a seat in front of him. They were both dressed in suits that looked like it cost an arm and a leg. She watched as his friend picked the menu looking at it before saying something to him. Alexandra felt jittery and she didn't know why. She was too busy staring at the two men that she didn't remember the elderly couple she was serving. The old lady clicked her fingers in Alexandra's face, getting her attention. "Back to earth, can we get the check now please?" The old man said politely but Alexandra noticed the hint of irritation in his voice. She laughed awkwardly trying to lighten the air and forget that she was staring at them like an idiot. She offered an apologetical smile to the couple before grabbing the checkbook from her apron. "I'm so sorry, hope you enjoyed our service and I'd really appreciate it if you gave me a high rating" She said as she handed them the check. She took a quick glance towards their booth to see him already staring at her. Once the couple were out of the diner, she checked the time and noticed that her shift was almost over. She cleaned the dirty tables and refilled the salt shakers stealing glances at the two men. They were discussing something that looked important, noting the stoic expression on their faces. They made no effort to order anything, like they came here to enjoy the environment. She wanted to tell them that they have to order something if they spend more than five minutes inside the diner but they looked like people that shouldn't be messed with. She continued with serving other customers while also packing her bag. She noticed that they still didn't order anything. She wanted to thank the stranger for the money but decided against it. "I'll take that as a payment for saving his life" She said to herself before turning to go to the back to get her bag but stopped when she heard a voice calling out. "Miss, excuse me." She noticed that she was the only waiter around. She walked over to their booth. The stranger stared at her without a hint of recognition in his eyes. "Maybe he doesn't recognize me," Alexandra thought. The slightly bulkier man picked the menu before placing his order." We'll have the medium steak and fries" She scribbled their order down on her notepad before tucking the pen back into her pocket. "Okay sir, I'll get your order right away" The larger man nodded in response before continuing their conversation. Her thoughts had been drifting to the stranger she helped for the last few months only to discover that he didn't even recognize her. When she returned their order, they turned to her for a split second before continuing their conversation. She set their order down on the table and then the stranger from that night leaned closer to her before whispering in her ears, low enough for only her to hear, "We meet again Alex" She froze for a second as she stared at him in surprise.Alexandra walked towards the window, her hands crossed as she stared out watching the flickering hospital light. The room was enveloped in a comforting silence.Luca sat on the door watching her,a faint smile on his lips. The wound on his shoulder long forgotten."A penny for your thought? You must be thinking of an exit right now" He said in an amused tone.Alexandra didn't turn around to face him. "I just think we are not that close to cover up with a lie that big"Luca exhaled, clearly enjoying it. "You're angry""I'm not" She replied. If anything she enjoyed it too. It made her feel... important. "It's just happening so fast, that's it"Finally, she turned to face him, eyes staring at his which stared back at her with so much intensity. She could feel the butterflies in her stomach fluttering under his gaze. "I'm just... I don't know. You know what... forget it"Luca continued to stare at her enjoying her flustered expression. His lips curved up into a smirk which reached his eyes.
Meanwhile, outside the hospital,an angry Adele stomped towards the parking lot, her pointed heels clicking harshly against the pavement. Her Hermes birkin, swinging wildly by her side."What did he mean by fiancee?" She thought out loud. She felt more insulted that she was being replaced by someone beneath her. It felt like a slap on the face that a lowlife like Alexandra was engaged to her supposed to be husband. He has to be joking... I already told all my friends that we were getting married, she said to herself. Her father had promised her that she was going to get married to Luca and she wasn't going to sit back and allow anybody take him from her.Adele released a frustrated hmph, throwing her bag at a nearby trash can,not caring that people were staring at her."Hey,hey, whoa —relax there tiger"A deep voice laced with amusement rang out, and Adele turned around, her eyes in a menacing glare.Marcus Sinclair leaned against the hood of his car casually, his strong arms crossed ov
Alexandra stared at Adele for a very long, tense moment, noticing how her painted lips twisted in disdain, the way her fist clenched loosely at her side.Adele's face turned red with anger as she repeated the question again."Are you deaf? Who are you and what are you doing here? Are you a nurse?"Alexandra was about to respond with some of the snarky comments that made it's way into her head when Luca's voice boomed in the room."Don't talk to her that way. She's my fiancee"The room fell into a pin drop silence. The temperature in the room seemed to have dropped drastically.Alexandra's gaze snapped to Luca in shock. What did he mean by that?A mix of disbelief and horror crossed Adele's face, her lips parting slightly unsure of what to say before an ugly scowl rested on her face."You did not just say what I think you did. What did you just... What?" She stuttered, her voice raised to a very high pitch.Luca ran a hand through his hair in frustration, his facial expression blank as
Alexandra was about to say something in response when a loud noise outside distracted her. It seemed like there was a commotion outside the hospital room. They could hear angry voices and hurried footsteps outside in the hallway which was accompanied by the sharp clatter of heels on the marbled floor. Then, the door opened suddenly with a loud and harsh slam revealing a very beautiful woman, her luscious dark hair in perfect waves over her shoulders. Her makeup looked like it was applied expertly by a professional but her face was twisted in anger as she glared at the tiny nurse on the other side of the door."What do you think you're doing by trying to stop me?" The beautiful lady spat out, anger dripping from her voice. "Do you have any idea who I am and what I can do to you?"The nurse looked flustered and appeared like she was about to burst into tears as she tried to calm the angry lady down. "Please Miss, you have to understand. Please —Mr Giorgio really needs to rest. It's very r
In the dark corner of the driveway, two tall figures hid in the shadows. One of them visibly angry and the other calm as he stared at the enraged man. He clenched his fist as he glared at his friend."What the f**k,Russo?" He said through clenched teeth. "What the f**k was on your mind? What the f**k were you thinking?" Russo remained unfazed, his expression betraying no emotion as he remained silent, taking a huge puff of his cigarette. A punch landed on his face, the cigarettes falling from his lips to the slightly wet floor. He allowed his friend to vent his anger on him.The angry man continued with his attack on Russo, his face twisted into a snarl of anger. "I TOLD YOU TO CHILL THE F**K OUT" he said loudly with each punch. " We needed to keep him off our tail for now and you decide to pull this crazy stunt now"Russo, who had had enough, pushed him away. His nose was bloody from the attack. The huge scar on his face glinted under the dim light as he took a few steps away from hi
Alexandra sat in the very high class restaurant as she waited for Luca. He had sent his driver to pick her up and bring her here. The restaurant was so fancy with a very serene atmosphere. A week ago, Alexandra didn't think that she'd step foot into a fancy restaurant like this today but here she was.She observed the place subtly taking in the magnificent setting. A waiter had asked her what she wanted to eat but she decided to wait for Luca to make the order. The restaurant was empty except for her and the staff. She was glad that no one was around because she was feeling a little self conscious about herself.Hearing footsteps approaching her, Alexandra turned to see Luca walking towards her. His hair was slightly tousled as though he had run his hands through them repeatedly but that didn't do anything to make him less handsome. He smiled as he noticed her looking at him which made her drop her gaze.He sat across from her, "Sorry for keeping you waiting, something…important came
Adele's lips pulled up in a wide smile at his words. "I don't care what you call it, it's a date to me," She said in a confident tone, her eyes admiring the beauty before it. "I'm just glad that you thought that it's a good idea for us to bond before we finally get married" Luca signaled for a waiter to get another bottle of wine. When the waiter returned with the bottle and poured a glass for him he finally spoke. " That's why I called you here. You have to tell your father that you're no longer interested in this marriage"Her eyes hardened as she glared at Luca, her face devoid of any emotion as she responded, " I'm not going to do that"Luca's cool gaze was fixed on her face with indifference as he spoke in a steady voice. "You weren't given an option," He said in an unwavering tone." I'm not calling off this marriage Luca, you'll get married to me and that's final" Adele retorted, not shrinking under his intimidating eyes."I really don't want to make a big deal from this so you
Alexandra got closer to her apartment with a huge grin playing on her lips. She half skipped and half walked to her apartment, her face bright with excitement. Her smile dropped when she noticed a figure crouched in front of her door.As though noticing her presence, the person looked towards Alexandra's direction, revealing a family face. "Aurora!" Alexandra's voice echoed in the hallway as she saw her friend. She had forgotten the main reason she was worried at first and suddenly she felt like a bad friend for forgetting her friend.Aurora quickly stood up as she rushed towards Alexandra before enveloping her in a very tight hug.Aurora hugged her tightly, not letting go as tears formed in her eyes. "Thank Goodness that you're safe," she breathed out in a shaky voice. "I was so worried when I couldn't find you in the club. I thought… I thought something bad had happened to you."Alexandra patted Aurora's back feeling bad that she had caused her friend so much worry. " I tried to look
"You have nothing to worry about, your friend is fine" he assured her, watching as her shoulders relaxed at his words. He released a deep chuckle before he added, "Now the table is turned. You're at my house this time" Alexandra raised her head to look at him before saying, " I guess we are even now" She said in a soft voice. " I really think it's time for me to go"" Sure, I understand," Luca replied with a nod. " But we'll have to get you something presentable to wear before heading home. How about we go buy some clothes and then you go"Alexandra immediately shook her head in protest. " That's very generous of you but I…" Luca held up a hand stopping her mid sentence. "I'm not taking no for an answer" He said in a firm tone as he stared at her. "Just a dress, this one you're wearing right now looks like it was made in the late 1800s" Alexandra's face heated up at his words. She knew that the clothes were too big on her but he didn't have to point it out like that. Swallowing the
