Chapter 4

The bus drop Anita to her destination, she walks along the street and she looks lost, she met an woman going along the street she is and she atop the woman.

“ Good evening ma!” Anita says.

“ Eku irole oo!(good evening)” the woman says and Anita looks lost because she can't understand the language.

“ Sorry ma'am, but I can't your language” Anita says.

“ Me I no understand English, you fit speak Yoruba ( I do not understand English either, can you speak Yoruba “ the old woman says and Anita look lost.

“ This old woman did not understand English then how will I ask her questions about this area” Anita says and old walk away as Anita did not reply.

Anita walks a little and she gets tired and she met another young on the road and she stop him.

“ Please excuse me! Please I hope you understand English “ Anita says and the young nods “ yes” and Anita gets happy and said “ oh thank goodness” and she showed the young the a dress she is going to the young take from her hand and direct her and said she will still take a bike to the place she going.

“ Oh thank you so much “ Anita says and the guy left.

“ Oh lord of mercy, I will have to take another bike to the place I am going to after three house drive to get here” Anita says and she count the remaining money I her hand she has thousands left and she stop a bike, she told the bike man where she is headed and the bike man nods his head that he know there, she climbed the bike.

Back in the village her aubt check her time and it's evening already and Anita is not back and her friends entered the compound, she quickly rushed out thinking it was Anita when she stepped out the living room she discovered that it was her friend and she gets sad, she friend walks close to her and noticed she sad.

“ Ah! Ah!Ah! Mama chibuzo! What is the matter? Why is your face like this? You look so angry! When I did not see you so decided to come see at home and ask why haven't you come and by the rice and the drinks you said you wanted to buy from me because of tomorrow” her friend says.

“ Anita! She is no where to be found since yesterday” Anita’s aunt says and her friends stood shocked.

“ What?!!! What do you mean by that, the old man will be here tomorrow to pay for her bride price so what are you taking about “ her friend says and Anita’s aunt started to weep.

“ Wha will I tell him tomorrow, Anita has kill me, how will I return all the money he has been giving this man has gave a whole lot of money even the one I use to send to Chibuzo and Chidima in school, I am finished “ Anita’s aunt says weeping.

“ Why will he wants to collect all the money back from you? “ her friend ask.

“ Because he gave to me on a condition and the conditions is that he is that he wants to get married to Anita but he said if Anita refuses he will collect back all the money he has been giving including the ones he gave to pay my children school fees at the University “ Anita’s aunt says weeping.

“ Oh mine! But where could she have gone to? She has no one except you, she has no where to go, I am sure sue will come back home just relax your mind “ her friend days to calm her down.

“ How will I relax by mind when the old man has out his hope on tomorrow what will I tell him of he come tomorrow, how will will tell that Anita elope” her aunt says sweeping and her friends still continue to calm her down.

Back in Lagos, the bike man stop at the exact address Anita showed him on the paper, she went down of the bike and she ask the bike man how is money.

“ Your money is three hundred naira “ the bike man says and Anita yells.

“ What?!! That's to much, your money should be two hundred naira “ Anita says and she looks at gate of the farm and she smiled.

“ Please give me money young lady” the mike man says and remove two hundred from the cash remaining with her and she gave the bike man and smiled.

“ You should manage that I do not have much money with me” Anita says shining her teeth and the bike man in anger snatch the money from her and he left.

Anita walk close to the gate and she bring out the phone number of the guy write for her but she do not have phone to call and the gate man walks to her.

“ Good evening sir !” Anita says shining her teeth.

“ Good evening! How can be of help ?” the gate man ask.

“ I am looking for aunt Kemi, I would have call her but I do not have a phone “ Anita says.

“ Wait here, I will go call her now” the fate man says and the gate man left, Anita stoodat the vate waiting for the gate man.

“ I just hope this woman accept me, I have no where to sleep this night but I will have to convince her “ Anita says speaking to herself and she saw the gate man coming with a woman and she gets nervous, the woman and the gate man close to the gate and the woman walk outside the gate to speak to her.

“ Good evening ma'am! Are you aunt Kemi?” Anita says.

“ Yes, I am. How can I help you ?” Aunt Kemi ask.

“ Ehnm... Your nephew Tunde directed me to you and you walk here as a farmer and I am also looking for work, I can work in farmer in fact in the village I use to go to the farm “Anita says.

“ I am sorry but I do not think I can help you, Tunde did jit even inform me before he directed you here and also I am not the boss here so please go back from where you are coming from” Aunt Kemi says and she was about to go and Anita rushed to stop and she went on her kneels to beg her.

“ Please ma, help me, I can't go back from where I am coming from “ Anita says weeping.

“ I will still tell you the same again I can't help you” Aunt Kemi says and she walk back in and Anita continue weeping.
