I tore my gaze from the view of the sky and landed it on Wesley's mom.

"Beatrice? Or isn't that your name?" I didn't want to sound rude but I just couldn't avoid it.

She frowned. "Of course that's my name. Or you can call me Betty if you want instead." She walked up to me and rested on the railing before exhaling out a breath, I noticed she had been holding since she appeared in front of me.

"To be honest with you, I never thought that you and Laurel would get back together. After everything you did to her. You know, you left her broken."
