The following day, Laura was forced to wake up early by Lorenzo, he has told her she needs to be there to announce the new alpha, Laura knew it was a lie, he just want her to feel shame in front of her people.

She haven't seen Cora since yesterday and she was certain she must have felt bad for what her father was doing to her , she couldn't blame her though, she quickly dress up .

The whole ceremony, Laura tries to put a smile on her face, she hid her sadness inside of her even when she announced Jacob to be their new alpha. Some people cheered happy they got rid of her while some genuinely felt bad for her.

She ran to her room before she breaks down in front of them and Axel who has been watching her the whole time followed her.

"Laura" he calls after her running

She didn't stopped until she barged her door open, she let the tears roll down her cheeks "I want to be alone" she told him

"I am not leaving you alone, why do you want to hurt yourself "

"I no longer feel connected to my pack, it's like something was lifted from me" she replied

"You will get back what's yours, just give it time" he consoled

"When is the time, don't you see my enemies are finally catching up to me" she clean her eyes only for new fresh tears to roll

Axel doesn't know what to do, he understand she is hurting, no one will want to go through that humiliation at all, he walks closer to her and hugged her "everything will be fine"

"So I am no longer the alpha any longer" she questioned looking sad

"You are still an alpha to me" Axel assured

"Have you seen Cora today" she asked

"Forget about her, you are my concern for now" Laura was surprised by the way he replied her but she choose to ignore it

"Do I need to still go out there" she looks at him

"You can show people how strong you her by going back there or just stay in here" he answered

"So you think I should go" she asked again

"It's your choice darling" he replied

"Let me change out of this clothes and I will come out there" she said understanding his word

"I will be out there waiting for you" he smiled down at her before leaving her to get changed.

Laura came out back and see that people where already having fun not caring about her feelings "you made the right choice giving us another alpha" one pack member have come to mocked her before dancing away

She smiled at her not saying anything "you know my offer still stand" Jacob said from behind her

She turned to face him "and my answer is still the same, I am not going to be your Luna or be mated to you"

"Why, I was told you never meet your mate and also about your relationship with that warrior" he points at Axel

"My personal life is not your concern Jacob and if you will excuse me, I have things to do"

"What things, have you forgotten I am now the alpha" he smirked "anyway, you are looking beautiful in that dress"he checked her out from head to toe with smile on his face before dashing away.

"What a pervert" Laura mutter

After he left, people doesn't seem to recognize her anymore as they were going to congratulate Jacob while some where eating and drinking.

"Are you okay " A child asked her holding her hand in her tiny own

She bend down and smile at her "I am okay dear, where is your mother" she asked her

"Is that our new alpha" the young girl points at Jacob

"Yes" looking at the direction she point to

"But I want you to be our alpha" the little girl whine

"You will like him too don't worry" she confronted her

"I am sorry Alpha Laura, I didn't know she wasn't beside me again" an elderly woman said coming to stand beside her daughter

"It's fine and please call me Laura, I am no longer the alpha" she said

"I don't know the need for this but you were a great Alpha" the woman said again

"Am sure it's for the best of this pack" she answered the woman "what's your name" she furthermore asked

"Tracy" she answered politely

"Okay Tracy, Thank you for your concerned but I am really alright" she smile genuinely at the woman who seem to really care about her.

Tracy hesitated for sometimes before clearing her throat "there is something I need to let you know"

"If it's really about this alpha handling over, it's nothing, it's for the best of our pack" she answered

"No, it's about your father"

This got her attention as she become very interested "My father" she inquired

Tracy looked around to confirmed nobody was listening to their conversations and she saw that every one was busy enjoying themselves, she then turned to Laura "Yes, the night before he died, I heard something"

She has bid her father goodnight that day before they both retired to bed "are you sure it's my father, I saw him went to bed that night"

"I am certain of what I saw, it has something to do with the blood pack"

      She knew something was up with this blood pack "what did you see" she asked

"Your father, beta Lorenzo and one other guy that I haven't see before were arguing about that pack and your father refused"

"It's must be some of their normal argument" she answered even though something tell her it's not

"It was intense because Lorenzo slapped your father over the matter" the woman knew they had hands in her former alpha death

"Lorenzo slapped my father" she asked surprised

"Yes and your father died the second day"

"You think they are behind my father death"

"Yes, you need to be careful" the woman warned and hurried away as she caught sight of Lorenzo walking down their way.
