Chapter 8

The divorce process was very fast, just like the unsentimental receipt of our marriage certificate back then. I felt a sense of sorrow with the freshly released divorce certificate in my hand, but my emotions were quickly extinguished by Xavier\'s silence.

“I hope you don\'t regret it,” I said, holding the divorce certificate in my hand.

I looked at him with dead eyes, and flatly said, “I wish you and your next wife a hundred years of harmony and loneliness.”

Xavier frowned, “You want to die, don\'t you? Just because we’re already divorced doesn’t mean I can’t do anything to you anymore.”

I ignored him and walked out.

The moment I got into the taxi, I couldn\'t help but look back at him, the smile I had been holding on for a long time slowly disappeared.

I loved him for seven years, four years of unrequited love and three years of marriage. He became a piece of my heart, but it has slowly deteriorated and rotted. How can I get rid of the rotten flesh now that he has become a part of me?

The taxi stopped in front of my grandmother\'s house, a small villa with a courtyard in the suburbs.

I stayed here with my grandma for a month. I quietly lived my days in a fuzzy routine, I would get up in the morning and pass out at night. In the blink of an eye, it was already January.

On the day I left, I was a little reluctant, but my grandma smiled and said, “Yasmin, you should go back home soon. You should go back to Xavier. I\'m beginning to worry.”

I nodded, but when I turned around, tears pooled my eyes.

From Grandma’s place, I went directly to the airport and booked the nearest flight.

However, when I was about to board the plane, I saw a group of men in black clothes walking toward my direction, and in the middle was Xavier.

A bad feeling rushed through me. I instinctively ran to the nearest bathroom, but I got caught on the way.

“What are you doing to me? You’ve gone mad!” I screamed as I struggled to get out of his tight grasp.

Xavier\'s tall body slowly pushed me against the corner of the wall. His cold fingers tilted up my chin and looked at me mercilessly, “Yasmin, since you killed my child, you now have to give me a baby.”

I wanted to argue, but my mouth was covered. I was struggling as I was pulled by my hair and got dragged away.

I was taken to a strange seaside villa, and as soon as I entered the door, I was thrown on the ground.

There was a soft carpet on the ground so it didn\'t hurt that much when I dropped to the floor. Xavier\'s body was also pressed down closely following it.

“Yasmin...” he said as he cupped my chin, his heavy breath brushing on my face. “You know what? I know every inch of this room and no matter where you go, you won’t be able to escape me.”

As soon as he was done threatening me, he tore my pants roughly.

I quickly closed my legs and shouted, “We are divorced! What do you want from me?”

“I already told you, you owe me a child!”

Xavier kept at it and came four times. From noon, when the sun was at its highest, to the setting of the sun.

When he finally let me go, I stretched out softly and felt sore every time I moved.

“Are you trying to kill me? Anyone who doesn\'t know you would think you haven’t had sex in a hundred years!” I roared and cursed.

I am no longer his wife and I am no longer afraid of him.

Xavier paused buttoning up his clothes and looked back at me, “Yeah, it\'s been a long time since I’ve had sex. You better keep me satisfied. Otherwise, it won\'t look good if you die in that bed.”

I was taken aback. I grabbed a pillow and struck him. He dodged and avoided it.

He stepped forward and strongly grabbed me by my collar, “Yasmin, starting today, you will stay here and you are not allowed to go anywhere without my permission.”
