Half an hour later...

"I’ve heard great things about your presentation in this morning’s meeting," Bia comments as she enters the building’s cafeteria.

"It was nothing special," I reply, placing a cup of strong, hot coffee on a small tray.

"Nothing special? The newcomers were amazed by your innovative ideas." I grab a croissant and hold the tray to go to a table.

"Well, it’s Mr. Bennett and Mr. Abravanel who should give the approval. We’re all newcomers, Bia. What experience do we have with all of this?" I grumble.

"I’m just saying." She raises her hands in surrender.

However, I place my tray on the table but don’t touch the food, as I’m anxious to grab the phone and check if he’s doing well. I then call Melissa, and when she answers, I ask permission from my colleagues and step away for a moment.

"How is he?" I ask as soon as I have the opportunity.

"He’s recovering very well." I smile, relieved. "He even asked about you." My heart warms.

    JuliaLooking at him through a transparent glass window is truly frustrating. I wish so much I could be right there by his side. Hold his hand and tell him everything will be fine. However, I can’t get close to him yet. Still, I don’t give up on him for a single second and stand there for hours just watching him sleep peacefully.
