Jaxon’s lips pressed harder against Tiana’s, the kiss no longer playful but hungry. Tiana leaned into him with ease, her hands sliding across his chest, tracing the lines of his body as though she had been waiting for this moment forever.

Jaxon’s fingers tightened at the back of her neck, pulling her closer until her body pressed against his. Her perfume was intoxicating, her lips soft and eager. The kiss deepened, their mouths moving together in a rhythm that grew more urgent by the second.

Tiana’s hand wandered up his jaw, then slid down slowly, teasing at his collar before brushing along his arm. Jaxon responded, his free hand brushing across her side, feeling the warmth of her body beneath the thin fabric of her dress. For a fleeting moment, the world narrowed down to the two of them, to the way her lips tasted and how her breath mingled with his.

Her heart was in her throat. She hadn’t even realized tears had escaped until they streamed hotly down her cheeks.

Amaya’s chest tightened as she stared at Jaxon, his words echoing in her head like cruel thunder. Dating. Her throat burned, and her eyes stung with hot tears she fought to hold back. She turned away from him, refusing to let him see her break. But her thoughts wouldn’t stop repeating the same thing: How could they be dating? How? She hugged her arms around herself, trying to make sense of the ache clawing at her heart. Tiana’s face, smiling, leaning into Jaxon, his lips on hers, it flashed behind her eyes like a nightmare. Her voice was unsteady when she finally spoke. “Just… leave my room, Jaxon.” But Jaxon didn’t move. Instead, she felt him step closer, his presence thick in the air behind her. “Why are you so bothered about what I do?” His voice was low, pressing. Amaya spun halfway, her lips parting, but no words came out. She stared at him in silence, her mind caught between anger and confusion. Why am I so bothered? Why does it hurt so much? He wasn’t hers. She had no ri

Amaya pushed her door open and stepped inside, relief washing over her at finally being in her space. School had drained her, classes, whispers, and the constant pretending that everything was normal. She let her bag slide off her shoulder, sighing as she set it down by the chair. Just as she was about to close the door, a hand caught it from the other side. Her heart jumped. Before she could react, Jaxon slipped into her room and shut the door behind him. Her brows knit together instantly. “What are you doing here?” she asked sharply, backing up a step. Jaxon leaned against the door like he owned the place, his usual cocky smirk tugging at his lips. “Relax, I’m not here to kill you. Why are you acting like I’m some kind of intruder?” “Because you are,” she snapped, crossing her arms. “This is my room, Jaxon. You can’t just walk in whenever you feel like it.” He raised a brow, his eyes glinting with that frustrating calm confidence. “You’re mad. I can tell. You’ve been giving me

The canteen buzzed with voices, trays clattering against tables, and the faint smell of fried rice lingering in the air. Amaya slid into a chair across from Zara, her shoulders tense, lips pressed into a thin line. She hadn’t touched her food since she got it, just picking at it absently, her eyes distant. Zara, sipping her drink, studied her carefully. After a long silence, she finally asked, “Okay, what’s your problem?” Amaya blinked, caught off guard. “What?” “You heard me.” Zara leaned back in her chair, eyes narrowing. “You’ve been sulking since we left class. And before that, you snapped at Tiana for no reason. She just asked a harmless question, Amaya. You didn’t have to be so rude.” Amaya’s stomach knotted. The memory of her sharp tone toward Tiana burned in her mind. She hadn’t meant to lash out, but something about Tiana, her prying eyes, her sweet smile, had rubbed her raw. Or maybe it wasn’t Tiana at all. Maybe it was Jaxon. Always Jaxon. “She was just asking for jaxo

The knock on the door had barely settled when Amaya’s mum appeared at the bottom of the stairs with Richard behind her. She looked surprised, tying her robe around her waist.“Who’s at the door?” her mum asked curiously, eyes darting toward Amaya. Before Amaya could answer, Tiana walked in, a polite smile fixed on her lips. “Good evening, sir. Good evening, ma,” she greeted, her tone sweet and respectful.Richard smiled warmly, and Amaya’s mum raised her brows slightly. “Good evening, dear,” her mum responded. “You are?”Tiana smoothed her hair down and smiled brighter. “My name is Tiana. I’m Jaxon’s friend. I actually came to see him.”Richard chuckled, giving Jaxon a playful nudge. “Ohh, so you’ve got a girlfriend already, Jaxon? I’m not surprised at all.”Amaya froze. Her chest tightened instantly at Richard’s teasing words. Girlfriend? Seriously? Why would he say that? Her mum laughed too, looking at Jaxon with a knowing expression. “Jaxon, you didn’t waste time at all,” she tease

Amaya lay flat on her back, staring at the ceiling, her mind looping the same word over and over like a broken record.Baby.That’s what he had called her.The way it had slipped past his lips, soft but intentional, had burned into her memory like fire etched on glass. She had heard that word before, but from him, in that moment, it felt different. Dangerous. Tender. Too personal. She turned onto her side, hugging her pillow, replaying the sound of his voice. She wanted to brush it off, convince herself it was nothing, maybe a slip of the tongue. But deep down, she knew it wasn’t. Jaxon wasn’t the type to say things without meaning them. And that was the problem. Her chest tightened as she whispered under her breath, “Why would you call me that…?”The air felt heavy in her room, the quiet pressing against her ears until she reached for her phone. The lock screen lit up, and for a second, her breath caught in her throat. Her chat app sat at the top of the screen, and instinctively, she
