Kelvin walked around looking sulky. His head was swelling with emotions. It had been a month since Grandma's burial yet he had no job.
Justin. had asked him to refund the money in three months and he had just two months left.
""Goodness, what am I going to do?"" He thought to himself.
He was so lost in his thoughts that he did not realise that he bumped into something and knocked it down.
""Oh oh."" He quickly raised it to its position. It was a signboard advertising for the position of a personal assistant.
His eyes widened. He quickly jotted down the address and scurried home.
""Jacky guess what?"" He said excitedly.
""What is it now?"" Jacky asked arching his brow.
""I'll be going on a interview tomorrow. I just saw a job vacancy and I'll be going there tomorrow for an interview."" He beamed.
""That's great news."" Jacky beamed.
""So tomorrow you are going to stay Alexander till I get back.""
Jacky pouted.
""Now don't be grumpy, I might not be allowed to go in with you. Try to understand me, I really need this job."" He explained.
""Fine."" Jacky sighed.
""Okay, let me go prepare something for you.""
The next day, Kelvin was in a rush to get himself prepared for his interview.
""Oh my goodness, Jacky what am I going to do?""
Jacky rolled his eyes and slapped his forehead.
""Really Kelvin? Do not tell me you are all cracked up because you do not know what to wear?"" Jacky blinked in surprise.
""Of course, I am."" Kelvin looked at Jacky who had a funny expression on his face.
""Why don't you choose what I wear?"" Kelvin told him.
He nodded and went to the bed. Kelvin's clothes were on the bed and all over the place.
""Yikes! Your room is so messy."" Jacky shook his head.
""I'll clean it up."" Kelvin replied.
Jacky pulled out a short-sleeved blue shirt and black pants.
""Here you go."" He gave them to Kelvin who hurriedly put them on.
""Thank you so much Jacky, what would I do without you?""
He put on a pair of black sandals. He rushed to the door.
""The room!"" Jacky sounded.
""Oh right."" He rushed back into the room and pulled out a hamper from the closet. He put all the clothes in it and pushed it aside.
""Bye Jacky. See you later.""
""What about Alexander?""
""I can't explain now, I'll tell you."" He bumped into someone, ""Ouch!""
Alexander looked at him with a scowl.
""Oops, sorry. I'll catch up with you later. Take care of Jacky for me!"" He ran out through door.
""Hmph."" Alexander raised his nose in annoyance.
Jacky was already down in the floor in giggles.
""That's Kelvin alright.""
Kelvin hurried to take a cab. It took to the place of his interview.
When he arrived he could not help gaping. The gates were golden! The gates rolled open and they entered the compound.
Flowers were planted along the pathways and it had tall leafy trees too. The The inside was screaming wealth and fancy. The sidewalks were made of tile, wide and well maintained and landscaping along the sides.
The sidewalk was beautifully architected. It ranged from climbing vines of variegated monstera to the hanging baskets of the rare Maiden Hair Fern.
There was a fountain to the right, and the driveway was exquisite.
Kelvin alighted from the car, paid the taxi driver his money and sold walked towards the mansion.
The doors to the mansion were made of glass and worked automatically.
He entered inside still in awe and literally gaped at everything.
""Who are you?"" A sonorous voice asked jolting Kelvin out of his reverie.
""I, came for interview."" Kelvin turned to look at the redhead who looked at him with dark eyes.
""You applied huh?"" The redhead sauntered down the stairs with his hands in his pant pockets.
Kelvin went nervous, ""I did.""
The redhead came close until they looked each other in the eye.
""You."" He was interrupted by someone.
""Ralph, leave him alone.""
An elderly man stood behind them with five guards behind him.
Kelvin squinted his eyes. He was in the house of the Mayor!
Shock and surprise filled him. He gulped down nervously.
""Good morning sir."" He said nervously.
The Mayor looked his way, ""Why are you here young man?""
""I am here to apply for the job sir."" He kept his head bowed.
""Ralph leave us."" The Mayor said.
Ralph growled and left. The Mayor gave his guards a sign and they left.
""Sit down young man."" He directed him.
""Thank you sir."" Kelvin sat down.
The Mayor cleared his throat.
""Well it seems you're the only responsible young adult who has applied for thus job. The rest are knuckleheads."" The Mayor hardened his face.
""I hope you are not like them."" He raised his chin.
""No sir, I will try my best in every single way to be as responsible as possible."" He crossed his fingers nervously.
""You're to assist my last daughter."" He said firmly.
Kelvin creased his brows, he had to assist the Mayor's last daughter?
He twisted his lips but could not object because this was his only hope for a job.
""Okay sir."" He said quietly.
""Mmh.. have you done this before?"" The Mayor asked him.
""Not really sir.""
He sighed, ""I don't have any other option, do I?""
Kelvin shook his head lightly, confused.
""You get the job.""
Kelvin raised his head to look at him, his eyes beaming with excitement.
""Thank you so much sir."" His eyes were filled with gratitude.
""You start now."" He said firmly.
Kelvin was puzzled, ""Now sir?"" He blinked his eyes in surprise.
""Or you don't want it anymore.""
Kelvin sighed deeply, ""I want the job sir.""
The Mayor stood up and called out.
""Sandra.""
""Yes sir?"" A female voice replied and a young lady ran to him.
""Take this man to Anna's room."" He ordered.
""Yes sir."" She nodded.
She turned to look at him and she gulped.
""Follow me."" She said quietly.
Kelvin followed her, this was the start of another journey.
Kelvin led Anna into their parlor, "Here we are," he laughed nervously, "I know it is not the size of your room, but it is home," He held her hand leading her into the living room. Anna felt sparks when his skin brushed against hers, "Oh," she only let out a sigh. Jacky cleaned one of the sofas for her to sit on it, "Here, sit down," he grinned at her. Anna laughed softly, "Thank you Jacky," she sat down. "Let me get you a bottle of water," he swallowed hard, then rushed out of the door to get her water. Jacky edged closer to her on the sofa, "I think he likes you." Anna tilted her head to look at him, "What do you mean?" Jacky gave her a knowing smile, "I am just saying. Do you not notice the way he wants to eagerly please you?" Anna didn't know why, but there was this fluttering feeling in her heart, her cheeks heated, she was blushing furiously. "What is the matter?" He asked. She shook her head, "It is nothing," she cleared her throat, "Jacky, could you please h

Anna wrapped her hands around Kelvin's shoulder, "Hey, stop beating yourself about it. We will definitely find him," she patted his shoulder. His phone rung. He immediately whipped it out, it was an unknown number. "Hello?""Hello? Kev? Can you hear me?"His heart skipped several beats, "Jacky is that you?" He rose to his feet. "Yes," Jacky's shrill voice responded.Anna also stood up with him, her eyes widening."Hello, Jacky, where are you? Can you describe it?""I- don't know where this place is, I have not been here before, and.." "Try asking around, just try asking around, someone should tell you." There was silence for a while, "Hello? Jacky?""I'm trying to ask someone, hold on," his shaky voice added.Kelvin tapped his right foot on the ground, his heart skipping several beats. Anna came to hold his shoulder, "Is it him?" Kelvin glanced at her, nodding his head frantically. "I am in Fort Worth." Kelvin's jaws dropped, "What? Fort Worth? You are not in
Evelyn had been in hiding for a few days, for the fear that the police might be after her. She didn't want to go to jail, she was just nineteen! She sat on her couch, her legs crossed, drinking a soda, watching TV. Suddenly, she heard the doorbell ring. Her brows creased into a frown. She had stopped all her friends from coming to see her, who could this be? It rang again, and her heart skipped several beats. Was it the police? She began to shiver, "Oh my God," she shakily got to her feet, "Maybe it is the police," her heart thumped. The doorbell rang again for the third time, but still she didn't open the door. "Hello? Anyone in there?" She heard a rough male's voice from outside."If there's anyone in there, I'm advising you to open the door, else we will break open the door!" Then she knew it was more serious than it really appeared to be. She knew she had to hide or else it would be terrible for her. "We're coming in now," she heard a female voice.Seeing they mi
He finally let go of Kelvin, spinning around to look at Anna, "Why are you saying this? To protect him?" She shook her head, "Not at all, I was the one who did it, please leave him alone." He stood there his mouth, agape, "You want to kill your brother because of this boy? Is that it?" "No father, it was Ralph's fault, he tried assaulting him, and k had no other choice but to do what I did."He was disappointed in his daughter. He tilted his head to look at Kelvin, who had hung his head. "You will not be the reason this house falls apart boy," he pointed fingers at him, "I'll be watching you, be careful," he turned on his heels, storming out of the living room. Anna ran to hold Kelvin's hand, "Did he hurt you?" She tried to search for any bruise on his face, and arms. He slowly refused her hands, backing away from her , "I.. have to go Miss," he turned on his heels, dragging himself to the door. "Where are you going to?" She raised her brows."To probably find my brot
