CHAPTER 06 - Friendship or love?
Author's POVTears formed in his eyes once her sparkling eyes opened a moment, meeting his wet eyes. Taken aback, he wiped his tears as she rubbed her eyes, looking at him along with her half-opened eyes. "When did you come?"
Clearing his throat, he replied in his cold tone. "When you were busy sleeping in other's workplace." Evident at him, she rolled her eyes. "I have no interest in visiting you. It's my mom who wants me to do so."Explaining herself, she stood up as she stretched her hands within the air, yawning. "Anyways, now I'm going. I have a lot of things to do."She stepped ahead solely to be stopped by him as he held her wrist, making her turn back. "You are still sleepy. It's dangerous to drive back."Yanking his hand, she crossed her arms. "So, Dr. Song, what will I do besides it?" chewing his lips, he answered. "I will drive you back." "Huh? given that I bear in mind, however, you offer a lift to somebody." Unlocking her purse, she took out the plastic bag which she used to wrap the money.Passing him the bag, she raised her brows. "Here you go. I'll never like someone's favor on me." Taking it back, he sighed. "I need to come back to the hospital, and so I can't drive you after. I didn't know if my method was wrong."Laughing sarcastically, she added. "It was an insult for your kind of information, Dr. Song. You can reject it, but your ego of yours couldn't be left behind." Curving his brows, he tried to clarify. However, she did not grant him an opportunity. "Thank you for agreeing. I never want to get married to an annoying, egoist person." Rolling her eyes, she banged outside the space, leaving him dumbfounded.Xingyue's POVThe light of dawn seeped into my space. I rubbed my weary eyes and walked to the window. There was a pearly glow within the sky. The morning was crammed with chippers of birds as I saw people running down to their work. Stretching my hands, I welcomed the cold breeze, touching my skin as I grinned. Turning back, I glanced at my alarm because it was nearly time for work. Shrugging off, I walked to the bathroom and did my daily routine.
Chewing a slice of bread, I took my files as I locked the door and walked to the car, driving to my workplace. I had bundles of pressure as today the new CEO was signing in. As his assistant, I had to deal with a lot.Banging within, I ran to his cabin. I used to be wearing a black, formal dress with matching heels. Dashing to the door, I opened it solely to fall to the bottom. "AGH!!"Author's POV
She was paralyzed in shock and that sudden rush of adrenaline as she let herself fall until she hit the ground and felt as though their life just flashed before their eyes while struggling to catch their breath.
Xingyue’s foot caught, whirling her arms to regain balance, she pitched toward the floor. Throwing out a hand to prevent the fall, Xingyue felt a pointy wrench of someone's hand close to her waist.Taking a deep gasp, she raised her chin as her eyes met brown, shiny eyes. Gazing into one another's eyes, he lifted her as she quickly brushed her suit. "Good morning, Mr. Han. Good to see you on your first day."Extending his hand for a handshake, he smiled. "Even if we are going to have a working relationship, don't call me Mr. Han. Save it for my dad. Call me Han Shuo." Commanding her laugh, she nodded. "Oh! Okay, Han Shuo. Are you ready for your first meeting?" Gazing downward, he pronounced a sigh. "I... I do not know if I can handle it." Pressing her lips along, she patted her arm, cheering him. "Dear boss, you've got your assistant besides. Do not be stressed. All of them understand you."Taking his coat, he beamed at her. "Are you prepared then, assistant?"Chuckling around, she nodded. "Always boss. Let's get it."Xingyue's POV
We nearly finished the meeting as I entirely checked on Han Shuo, taking care of whether he was feeling alright or not? it was his first time taking any meeting, then I made workers understand his condition. He wasn't a friendly nor extroverted person.
Glancing sideways, I noticed his professional aspect. He was a serious person who loved perfection. No doubt, he was the son of Mr. Han, who also was a perfectionist.Taking a deep gasp, he dismissed the meeting as we bowed to each other. Passing him a thumbs up, I collected my files as he claimed. "Thank you for your support, Xingyue. Without you, I was unable to do it." Smiling to the ground, I cheered him. "All credit goes to you."We were sharing chuckles once the recipient came to me, said."Ms. Li, your husband came to meet you."Getting a heavy feeling in the stomach, I asked with my shaky voice. "W-who?""Your husband, Ms. Li."Shutting my eyes, I asked God to throw me away because it was the foremost embarrassing moment in my life. Cursing beneath, I clenched my claw. "You'll pay for it, Xi Song."CHAPTER 07 - Shopping with my arrogant fiancéXingyue's POV"Are you married, Xingyue?" he asked with his eyes frozen open. My lips turned down as I giggled sarcastically. "It should be my friend. He generally jokes around like this. Excuse me, Han Shuo." Bowing to them, I raged outside. Gripping my clenched hand, I went to the ground floor as I saw him checking on the wristwatch. "What's your problem, Xi Song? For what reason are you following me all over?" Turning his head, he looked at other people who were gazing at us. Holding my arm, he pulled me somewhat close as he murmured close to my ear. "Keep your voice low. My mom sent me here to take you shopping." Stepping back, I flipped my hair, folding my arms. "I don't need to bother a man to go shopping. I can do it without anyone else." Squinting his eyes, he passed me a ridiculing grin. "Miss, I have no interest too. I'm doing it for my mom. If it's not too much
CHAPTER 08 - A TRUE HEROXingyue's POVAs I started talking to Han Shuo, I noticed a weird reaction on Xi Song's face. It was more likely a suspecting face. Han Shuo: Can you come over here? I need a lot of help from you.Xingyue: Okay, I'm coming.Hanging the call, I glared at him. "What was that?"Crossing his arms, he raised his brows. "May I know who Han Shuo is?" Rolling my eyes, I answered. "You don't need to know about him, Mr. temporary fiancé." Walking back to the dressing room, I changed my dress as I took my purse and said goodbye to him. "Where's the bill? I'll pay for it." Pronouncing a sigh, he smirked. "Don't worry. I paid already." Grinding my teeth, I flipped my hair as I argued. "I can pay for my dress by myself, Mr. Song." "I know, but I couldn't let you pay Miss Li," he argued back. "WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM?" He added. "The problem is you are Fiancée. If y
CHAPTER 09 - CASE OF POISONXi Song's POVTaking out my gloves, I washed my hands as I came out. "What's the report of the patient?" Reading the file, Ling Xiao answered. "He is safe for now, but the poison in his body is in excessive amounts. I'm afraid we can't save him--" Cutting his words off, I shouted. "DON'T EVER SAY THIS AGAIN. We have to save him at any rate." Shifting my gaze, I glanced at a lady sitting on the nearby bench. Taking out my mask, I walked to her. "What are you doing here, Xingyue?"Lifting her chin, she stood up immediately. "How is the patient? Is he okay?" Taking a pause, I gulped. "The risk is too high. The toxin is poisonous, and it's found excessive in his body. It seems like a murder case." She knitted her brows as someone ran to us, shouting her name. "XINGYUE, IS EVERYTHING ALRIGHT?" Gazing at Xia Na, I shifted my eyes to her. She was looking pale. "How is he?" Sha
CHAPTER 10 - When the heart talks your feelingsAuthor's POVGulping down, he took his phone out as he called his friend. "Ling Xiao, do you know the other way of exiting the hospital?" Humming, he replied. "Yeah, there is a way behind the hospital. But what happened?" Holding her hand, he directed her as Xia Na pushed her. "Xingyue, just go with him. Don't worry about anything, okay?" Glancing sideways, she nodded her head in agreement as they ran away. Taking his car, Ling Xiao waited for them near the gate. Waving at him, Xi Song approached him. "Thank you, Ling Xiao. Can you handle the matter?" Smiling at him, he stroked on his arm. "Of course, I'm the master after all. Don't be concerned, sister-in-law needs you more this time." Peeking at her, he bowed. "Hello, sister-in-law. I'm Ling Xiao. One of the best surgeons here--" Cutting his words off, he sided him. "Okay! Do your introduction some other time. Xi
CHAPTER 11 - FIND THE CULPRITAuthor's POVThe rising sun cast a rosy hue across the morning sky. Golden fingers of sunlight lit up the scene. Lifting her head, she glanced at the clock as it showed seven of the morning. Doing her daily pieces of stuff, she moved downstairs as she smelled something delicious. "Hmm!! It looks like Dr. Song woke up early." Chuckling at her comment, he placed the dishes on the table as he replied. "I'm a doctor. I woke earlier than others and stayed up at night too. Come and eat. I'll drop you at your office." Playing with her fingers, she brushed her hair back as she messaged Han Shuo. "Han Shuo, you don't need to come here. My cousin will drop me."Placing her phone on the table, she sat opposite him."Xi Song, I know it's tough for you to let a stranger stay at your place. So thank you for letting me in." Taking a bite of bread, he chuckled. "You're talking lik

CHAPTER 13 - Signal of love?Xingyue's POVWalking as fast as I could, I arrived at an alley where I saw no other way to escape. Shivering, I turned back as I heard a man laughing like a maniac. He covered his face with a black mask as his hands were holding a knife. Gulping hard, I stepped back as he moved closer to me. "Is he coming to kill me?" I assumed.Stepping back again, my back clasped with the wall as I sweated.Horrified, I shut my eyes when he was about to stab me with the knife.Squinting, I felt a touch as I peeked with my half-opened eyes.Glancing back, I saw Han Shuo murmuring in pain. "HAN SHUO!!"Holding him in my arms, I looked into his eyes as he was about to close his eyes. "Keep your eyes open, Han Shuo." Tears formed in my eyes when the man again moved to me. But out of nowhere, someone appeared as he kicked him, pushing him out of the way. Lifting my chin, I gazed at the ma

"Li Yubing?"Squinting my eyes, I cleared my voice as I picked the call.Me: Hello, Yubing. Long time no call or text.Yubing: I'm sorry, Xing. I didn't take care of you well. I failed to be an ideal boyfriend. But I promise once I come back, all my attention will be on you.Gazing down, I pressed my lips, assuming. "I don't know, Yubing. Will I be waiting for you or not?"Taking a deep gasp, I replied to him.Me: Focus on your business. We'll talk once you come back, okay?Yubing: Deal, Xing.
