7-Pastry Classes

Monday finally arrived. Luke, gave me a car to drive around, instead of taking the bus or a cab. I decline, but he somehow won and I took the car. On the bright side, no sign of Laura.

We entered the classroom for our first baking class and I was on cloud nine. At least something good came out of this marriage, I get to do what I love.

"Chocolate pie. Easy for your first class. As the semesters advance, some desserts will be difficult, but that's what we're here for, to learn and get better." The chef told us.

As I worked on my pie, the chef approached me and smiled. "I admire you, Savannah."

"You know me?" I asked as I, grabbed the chocolate.

"After this class, let's go to the cafeteria and talk." With that said, she went to check on others.

Okay, that was weird. Though her face seems a little familiar. I'll ask later. After a few hours, we finished our pies and she graded us. Some she said were good, and some weren’t.

"Looks like someone has experience." She said in between bites.

"I work at a bakery and pies are one the mains there." I replied. She just nodded.

Everyone cleaned their work table and then left. I stayed behind to wait for her.

"Alright, let's go. The cafeteria is too crowded, there's a little restaurant just 5 minutes by walking."

Okay, then. I followed her and once we reached the place, we went to the balcony and took a seat at our table. The weather was so beautiful.

The waiter took our orders and then left.

"So, how do you know me?"

"Well, I like to know who's entering my family."

"The baking family?"

She laughed. "No, I mean the Carter family."

"You're related to, Luke?"

"That little devil is my grandson. I couldn't attend the wedding cause I wasn't in the country. I'm Amelia Carter." She gave me a warm smile.

"Why did you say you admire me?"

The waiter came back with our orders and drinks and then left. Either the food is extremely delicious, or this baby is making me really hungry.

"How far along are you?" She asked as she cut her steak.

"In two weeks, I'll be four months." I smiled. "I want to have my baby in my arms already."

"Is the best, then the crying and all baby related stuff comes and that's were you'll most likely go insane."

I chuckled. "Can't wait. So why did you say you admired me?"

"Because, you have everything served in a golden plate, yet you still work at a bakery and you want to become someone in life, and not depend on a man." She told me before drinking her water.

"I Love working at the bakery and one day, I hope to open my own. I have my savings, but I'll put that dream on hold." I rubbed my belly. "All my hard work, will be to give this little one, a good life."

Amelia smiled at me. "How's Luke, treating you?"

"Great, he's everything to me. Our love is amazing."

"Was that before or after, I saw him with, Laura, last night." She gave me a look.

"What?"

He promised he wouldn't see her. He said that he was busy working late-night at the company.

I sighed. "I'm guessing you know?"

"Yeah, I know that this," She pointed at her food. "is amazing." She gave me a cheeky smile. "There are times when, it tastes different, but is still good."

I smiled. "For the past week, he has been nice."

She grabbed my hand and said. "For what is worth, I'm glad he chose you, and not someone else."

"If he has his way, soon it will be, Laura and she will be the new Mrs. Carter."

"Not under my watch." She smirked. "Why do you think he still isn’t CEO?"

"I guess they all know, how head over heels, Luke, is with Laura." I shrugged.

"One day he will realize that, Laura, is toxic for him. One day, he will see what's right in front of him." She smiled.

"Luke and I are just friends, I guess. Besides, I don't see him in the romantic way. I was forced to marry him." I said before eating the rest of my chicken.

“Luke, wasn't the only one who married someone for his own benefit." She sighed. "My husband, may he rest in peace. Did the same thing, I hated him for a while. Henry, liked me, but I didn't like him back. Months later, my parents went to his office and they made a deal. I was forced to marry him, I was 17 and he was 20."

"Did you fell for him, or stayed married with no love?"

"I fell for him, two months later after our wedding. And he will always be the love of my life. Sometimes love come in the most unexpected way." She grinned. I chuckled.

"I don't think, Luke, will ever see me like that. It's been months. His heart belongs to Laura."

"We shall see, Savannah."

We ordered dessert, talk a bit more and then I headed back to the house. I actually like, Amelia.

..........

I entered the house and heard voices coming from the backyard. I headed to my room and then I opened the window. You can hear and see everything from here. I didn't realized, Luke, was having a little party. I thought it would be tomorrow at his friend's house.

"Luke!" Some woman hugged him from behind, he smiled.

"Grace, glad you came." He said as he handed her a drink.

"How can I miss your famous BBQ." She said in a flirty way.

"Grace, he is married. Paws off, my brother." Valerie, said as she personally removed them. I chuckled.

“Luke, doesn't love her," some guy said, "my man only uses women and then when he gets bored, he throws them away, like trash. She will be history, along with that thing growing inside her. You can always, push her in front of a car or down the stairs.

Anger was all I felt, I wanted wanted kill this asshole. Luke, needs to get better friend's. Before anyone could say anything, I let actions speak louder.

"Son of a bitch!" He screamed, when I threw a flower vase, on the guy's head.

I hid really fast. He deserves worst. I can't believe someone like him actually exists. If Luke, gets angry, I'll blame the hormones. I'll go with that.
