Nicola's POV:

"Come in," I say loudly as I go though the many papers on my desk.

"You're up early," my dad says as he enters my room.

"There's work that needs to be done papà," I say as I separate the files. "Have you heard from Colton?"

"The French are coming towards us," dad says. "He reported last night after I left the party. Mario started making preparations early this morning."

"I thought the French were going north," I say and look up from my papers. "Colton just sent that message  a week ago."

"They went to get supplies from England," dad tells me. "We need to start moving the workers to the safe houses. They will be going to Terni. We'll have many guards there as well."

"When are we leaving?" I ask him, going back to my papers.

"No later than tomorrow morning," dad replies. "I'm announcing the plans at breakfast, you should start packing up the files son."
