They were silent for a while and did not answer my question, so I got up.

"I have to sleep now because I have work tomorrow. You can see yourselves out." I said, trying to sound indifferent.

James reached for me and kissed me fiercely, but I pushed him away. I couldn't hold my tears anymore. They began to fall uncontrollably. I didn't know what to say to them. I didn't know where to start from. I just wanted them out of my apartment.

"Get out! Get Out!" I began to yell, and I didn't care about the hurt in their eyes. I just wanted them out.

"We tried to return early. The trouble was too much and we couldn't," Philip said, and I didn't care what they were talking about. I just wanted them out.

"Please, Jane, hear us out," Philip pleaded, but I was past that.

"You have nothing to say to me. I am not angry. It is just that I thought we were friends, and I thought you two would stay in touch no matter what. I knew it wasn't going to last, but I also thought we had a bond," I sa
